    The app is wonderfull and i never get out photoshooting without it! I have a question on the star trails shooting technique: I use the multiple photos shooting method, and usually use following settings: Canon EOS 750D, Samyang 10mm f/2.8 lens, shutter speed 25 - 30 s, ISO 400 - 800 and total shooting time around 1,5 hours. And my question is: if i use 1 or 2 seconds of delay between the single exposures to prevent sensor heat (especially during the Summer time / croped EOS), will i get annoying gaps between the startrails?

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Před 4 lety

      Hi! It shouldn't be noticeable. If you stack the photos using StarStaX you can use "Gap filling" method.

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Před 4 lety

      Yes! The AR views, the calculators, widgets... work offline. You need internet to have the map visible in the Planner.

    Dear Rafael Pons, I tried to shoot a polaris star trail but the trils are broken and being my first attempt I am not happy at all. Is there a way how I can send you copy of this startail and correct all my wrong doing pls?

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Před 4 lety

      Hi! You probably had a long delay between shots. Is that possible? Keep it as short as possible, 2 seconds for example. If you use StarStaX you can enabled the option " Gap Filling" to avoid it too.

    I wonder when is the location search be added to this app?

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Před 5 lety

      It's been there since the first version of PhotoPills. You just need to tap on Load and use the top search bar

    how can we see night AR of aimed shooting location which is different than current location and how can we search for a specific space objects inc moon and sun with name in photopills app ( without dragging the screen)

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Před 5 lety

      Hi! Open the Planner, move the red pin to your desired location (you can tap Load and use the top search bar to find an address). Then you can do a single tap on the time bar to change date. Tal the Night AR and you'll see what you'd see if you were at that location.
      You can't "search" object in the Night AR view. We only draw the Milky Way and Moon there. To find the Moon just follow the path we draw.

    Hi Developers,
    Could I use this for polar alignment for my star tracker?
    Is it accurate enough for wide lens on star tracker? let say 2-3 mins exposure for the star shoot without trail.
    Cheers

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Před 4 lety +1

      We've done it and it has worked, but that really depends on how accurate your compass sensor is in that moment. Do the 8-figure gesture multiple times and check if you are using a case with a magnet before aligning it. Here's a video where we show how to do the 8-figure gesture: czcams.com/video/Y4WBOJeKJ-0/video.html&feature=emb_title

    • @akkarparkiamopas3401
      @akkarparkiamopas3401 Před 4 lety +1

      regarding to 8 digit gesture, Can I do it while My iPhone compass app is ON? Do I really need to do while AR is ON?
      because most of the time at night when I go to photo milky way, there is none of the moon there. If I do 8 digit gesture with AR is ON, I have no moon to be reference .
      Cheers

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Před 4 lety

      @@akkarparkiamopas3401 It's recommended to do it when you open the AR view. It's faster and easier. You can use the moon or the sun.

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Před 4 lety

      @@akkarparkiamopas3401 The 8 figure helps calibrate the system. No need to have the moon to do it. You need the Sun/Moon when you use the visual calibration button

    check you are not using a case with a magnet ? What is does mean ?

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Před 6 lety +2

      Some phone cases have a magnet to attach to the car. These types of cases affect the digital compass, and the app is unable to detect where the north is
