    It’s a fine saw for anything residential. For commercial use it’s fine too. Just a little too small for cutting heavy timber. I’ve used mine in both conditions

    Those safety triggers always be me too. Little tip take a little file to it and add a little roughness to it. Will give you more grip to drop it.

    Hi,
    Got a chance to watch your video on this DeWalt 6 1/2" 20v circular saw.
    I use it and it's a great little saw. Now it's been out for a while and I feel that DeWalt should have a upgraded model by now 2019 or 2020.
    A few new upgrades for this model. It should have a Brushless motor, Led light, Magnesium blade (bottom) cover, push switch (to turn on) and a hook.
    Also make a 20v (7 - 1/2") brushless circular saw for this side cutting blade. It doesn't have to be a rear handle. Skil has one called (southpaw) but it's corder. I know they have a rear handle flexvolt and milwaukee has a m18 rear handle. It's just bulky and something smaller will just work fine.
    Still a great little saw. Just my input.

    • @DoItAllDan
      @DoItAllDan  Před 5 lety

      Thanks Michael I appreciate your thoughts, I certainly do think DeWalt need to up their game in this area.

    I'm a Makita man myself always have been and the little trim saws are excellent the same as Dewalt tools , I agree about the safety toggle being a pain but I usually wrap some gaffer tape around it as a bypass and that does the trick.....😀
    Cheers.......👍

    It is a great saw, I have to disagree with you on the use on tantalised timber, I use it on treated timber 90% of the time and it works well, even on sleepers.

    • @DoItAllDan
      @DoItAllDan  Před 3 lety +1

      It's not bad for the price, but it's always going to be on the low to mid range. Personally mine struggled on sleepers and treated, even with 5/6ah batteries. Thanks for the support 👍🏻

    I did like mine , until it stopped working. It makes a bit of noise but nothing happens. Any advise ?? Someone said clean it out. But I don’t know where to start.

    • @DoItAllDan
      @DoItAllDan  Před 4 lety +1

      It could be several things to be honest a good clean wouldn't do it any harm if it's been exposed to quite a bit of dust.
      Are the batteries connected correctly including the contacts, is something jamming the mechanism, or is the safety switch locked on, or if you noticed an oily smell or a residue on the motor it could have failed or a bearing failure.
      Just a few off top of my head, give it a good clean with a can of air you can buy and a soft sparkplug brush it may help.

    • @ellpat2928
      @ellpat2928 Před 4 lety

      Do It All Dan It has no smell. It has a doll noise when we try to use it it could be very dusty the battery has a full charge is incorrectly someone told me to take it apart and clean it you didn’t mention that though you said blow air out of it or something I just I’m frustrated. As you said it could be many things I just wanted to work do you know if I can take it apart and clean it out? Thank you in advance thank you for your response
