Great review! This makes me want to watch all Droideka scenes in the prequels. "Where are da Droidekas!?" lol
It's actually criminal how long it took them to make a Droideka and B2 Super Battle Droid, but at least they finally did it.
We need more droids. Commando Droids (could have like 5 variants like the EA Battlefront 2 skins) and Aqua Droids are my most wanted.
2:15 Those butt panels are supposed to be flared out when in the walking mode and folded up when in the ball mode so it's cool they added those on hinges

Collectors are gonna be asking "Where are those Droidekas?" 3:03 In The Phantom Menace, the head doesn't extend when in ball mode. Not sure if it's possible to get it in this position, but the head and the back leg are supposed to form a circle with the front two legs tucked inside, like T-Rex arms, and out of the way. Blaster arms are folded in like chicken wings.
It does not roll ✊🏻😔
2:17 Those panels flap out because they're supposed to be out when the droideka is unfolded. You can even see them out in the artwork on the box.
Don't forget the common mistake that I've seen people doing with the droideka - when not in wheel mode, the droideka's head is supposed to be extended. You can slide this figure's head joint out, revealing a neck, to fully transform it. A lot of folks are missing that.
Great review, I ordered just one as I don’t army build, but I’m excited to get any and all repaints! Hope to see a Jedi Survivor repaint down the line as I’ve said before. Very excited to get this in hand!
Also just so you know, Apple doesn’t let you join or even upgrade channel memberships from their CZcams app, so you should put a link in the description of your videos so iPhone users can click it in order to do that.
This looks great! Just from an aesthetic standpoint, it has so much presence. The scale is a *bit* big next to the Jedi, but next to the droids it looks fine. I guess I'd rather it be bigger than smaller.
Not surprised about the looseness and thin feeling plastic, but I wish it felt more premium. That combined with how finnicky it seems to be to get into rolling form gives me big model kit vibes.
That droideka looks ao good,can't wait to get a couple of those for the shelf, great review
While I dont regularly collect black series figures this is a must have for me. The droidikas are by far one of my favorite droids.

This is honestly some pretty impressive engineering.
Regardless of most of its teeny issues. The fact we even have this as a mass produced figure is a triumph all on its own. It almost makes me want to go play around with my Grievous figure.

That is a clever piece of toy engineering.
I wouldn't mind a two pack with this and another that doesn't transform but is in the wheel formation and on a stand.

Hello Luke, I knew the Destroyer Droid box was big but you can really appreciate how big when you place a standard Galaxy box next to it.
I also just got my Walmart R4-6D0 yesterday April 30th. Our first R4 in the black series figures, I can't wait for more in the new scale. I hope Hasbro will redo BT-1 and Chopper eventually..
I've got two of those Destroyer Droids on preorder so I'm trying to be patient. The scale looks good but I'll have to check out the Phantom Menace as well to be sure. I have no plans to fold up the droid, they're going to stand proud with blasters blazing. 😆

Wow, thank you for that early peak. The droid looks fantastic. I do wish it rolled up more. I think from a company that designs Transformers They could have found a way and just charged us a bit more. But overall I'm happy and can't wait for mine.

Wish it came with an effect part to make a forcefield. But other than that I’m really excited to get one
I always thought the Super Battle Droids would be bigger and bulkier, compared to the other two...
They are bulkier but they're the same height as B1 Battle Droids I think.

I actually thought the Droideka were bigger 🤯even at that size i think they could've added more articulation to get it to roll up better

Great review love your vids man! , i noticed you took the weathering of the super battle droid just curious how did you do it and is the lower body molded in the gun metal grey dont want to mess it up lol
I used acetone and it did strip the paint a bit on the gunmetal so I had to paint that part back. It also messed up the plastic a bit on the chest
Thanks here something i have started to use is eracer sponges and scanitiser it removes the light coats of pain

I’m curious to see how the scale of this one compares to the old Power of the Jedi destroyer droid. Mine looks good on the shelf with Black series B1 battle droids. I’m surprised it took them so long to make this one with that one already produced over 20 years ago

if anything it might be undersized based on how you had it standing up so straight with its legs compared to the reference images

Got two of them. This has been my favorite droid since I was a kid. So this was an easy score, especially since I owned a bunch of the small ones when the prequels were releasing. The articulation and design is awesome, definitely an 8/10 for me, and my favorite Black Series figure. Although, that new maul may take it's spot. Phantom has been my favorite since I was a kid. Plus the legends lore surrounding this droid is cool. This was W for me.

How does this one compare to the old power of the force droideka??
I can see why it's loose jointed..all that articulation..the piston work is nice, don't care that it doesn't roll, I'm not playing with mine come mid May..cheers for the review Luke 🍺🍺🍻

How are the leg joints do they feel lose in anyway, does it feel awkward to fold them for the ball form? My biggest concern with this figure is lose leg joints giving the figure trouble standing.
The legs are fine just the arms that are loose

Am I the only one wondering what the 2 silver dots on the the chest are for.
First I thought they were metal pins for the arms to hinge but they're not metal and have no connection to the arms.
I still think it looks like something should attach to the chest🤔

They probably don’t roll because similar to a 1:12 scale bike, it’s just not affected by rolling and gravity correctly and an actual full sized 1:1 droideka prob propels itself with a gyroscope or something or like how bikes have a chain and actually propell as it rolls to maintain speed and stability. Also it’s CGI lol.

You have the wrong articulation idea for the droideka (and the product photo seems wrong too) The front legs should tuck upwards into the waist crunch and the back leg should extend down and around the “butt”
It's the same as the power of the jedi destroyer , this one has just a few parts that articulate more but it's the same color is darker too

@@davidortiz2452 Imagine being that confident in something that you are completely wrong about. The POTJ Destroyer is a completely different line, a completely different sculpt, a completely different figure. LOL!
It's actually small. In the reference pictures it stands the same height as B1 and B2 with its legs flexed at 90 degrees angle, not straighten up completely, the way you posed it. Between this detail and the cheap plastic they've used, I can say Im not all that impressed.
Something about this figure looks kind of "cheap" to me. I'm not sure if it's the plastic or paint.
TBH for what they want for it and what it is, id rather buy a resin kit for $50 pose it how i like, glue and paint. the paint ap(or lack of paint lol)sucks Id consider disassemble sand paint, but honestly it wouldnt be worth the time. Skip this, learn to paint and get the resin kit of etsy for $20 more
What a piece of junk- Luke Skywalker 😂 .....We shouldn't have to fix anything that's a big bummer it doesn't roll and the figure looks really flimsy. Yea the roll should be a thing ha I wanna roll it like the film ya know? And then put it in rad posses and have it stay there. The red looks beautiful and someone needs to 3d print a translucent blue shield I wonder who can do that hmm hahah ❤❤❤ I'm still getting like 5 of these lol

This figure represents all that I loathe about Hasblo.
Over the years I've really reduced what I buy from this company as I've been disappointed more than a few times. However, I've waited decades for a proper Droideka that stands and rolls....so when they offered it and claimed it would be able to be in both standing and rolling mode....against my better judgement I ordered one at the inflated price.
Once I opened the box, I realized the price increase, so immediately I was impressed at how large the figure was. Once I got it out of its plastic coffin.....I handled it a bit and said to myself....."Ok this is cool let's get the instructions to make it a ball".
How in the world does a company make such a detailed figure with ZERO instructions on how to transform it????? AND this is from the same company that makes TRANSFORMERS!!!!!
That is absolute BS from a consumer point of view. Even the Hasbro guys could not pull it off when showing it.
It's poor releases like this that add up.....we now have a great looking Droideka figure.......with multiple theories on how it turns into a semi-ball thing......
