- To find the best drop 5 USSSA Bat for 2025, we took four bats (Hype Fire, Rawlings ICON, Soldier Tank, DeMarini CF), taped them black, and then tested which one could hit the most home runs. We hit some absolute rockets, got robbed a few times, and concluded that there is one bat that is pretty good.

Want to get my 2025 12u son a -8 for next season. Which bat would you guys recommend? Every bat I’ve bought for the past 3 seasons, I’ve used your guys’ chart on the your website. Website says CAT X for the rating of the drop -8’s. Would that still be your recommendation or one of these?

Still a bit early for us to be all in on 2025 stuff as we’re getting some data, but no matter what we think it will be hard to beat the CAT X in a drop 8 for its price durability and performance at the moment. Assuming you’re allowed to cause it’s only usssa for drop 5, we’d go Rawlings icon. 2024 or 2025 don’t matter. Best of luck. Let us know how it goes.

Icon is 100% lighter then hype
With industry standard equipment, we measured the drop 5 at 8100 MOI for the Icon, 7800 MOI for the Hype. Icon is heavier in a drop 5. Not sure on drop 10 yet. Rawlings claims Icon has “slight end load” so that matches up.
@@batdigestdoes this hold up for the 2024 Icon drop 10? I’m debating the 24 Icon vs 25 Tank (both -10) for my son. Which will be lighter? Last year I heard the Icon was lighter feel than the Hype Fire. TY.
@@1StepTooFar2024 icon is the lightest swinging bat. The 2025 is slightly end loaded making it heavier. Get the 2024 icon if possible
I stopped watching at the 1:37 mark, that bell sound is just WAY too much to handle. Looked like it had potential to be a fun video. Maybe don't use loud, obnoxious noises repeatedly in your future videos.
