No surprises a thesis on outsider art would be received so poorly. Some of those running Art schools claim to embrace the avant garde and yet they are in essence those same academicians once railed against by the Impressionists. What a brilliant series, I wish I didn't have work today!
I guess im randomly asking but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account?
I somehow forgot the password. I would appreciate any help you can give me!
@Zavier Luciano Instablaster =)
@Toby Wade Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process atm.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Toby Wade it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much you really help me out!
@Zavier Luciano No problem :D
This is fascinating. I could listen to Jarvis for hours. Wish he could narrate my life
It would seem that one would have to have a bit of extra spending money to do this type work, with all the building materials, cements, fountains. pipes etc...etc... you have to own the house in the first place or the landlord would be quite mad.
@@knoxvillehermitfreemoviesm3625 ...or like Pichai you can be homeless on the streets of Bangkok with a handful of pens for years .
You don’t ask an artist who paints, “why do you paint?”. He does because he’s compelled to do it. A form of creative expression. He’s creating a beautiful environment. Simple.
How have I missed this until now?! I love this journey to and through Outsider Art. I’m looking forward to the other postings.
Spellbound and in awe of Javis' voice and narration... his Wireless Nights BBC podcasts are also amazing
This series is too good.
mans face lights up and the vibe totally changes upon receiving the brandy offering :DD
It was a charming moment, and very nice of Jarvis. I quite like Jarvis.
@@JagBetty yeah he's a good egg for sure ^_^
I love this SO much. It gives me faith in humanity. Everyone should follow their dreams.
My main man Jarvis
Wow, this is great. I loved Pulp back in my adolescence when 'A Different Class' came out. I don't recall seeing this at the time but I'm very happy to have found it now. Jarvis was brilliant!
Jarvis the person of multitalent
I remember watching this in the 90s. Brilliant
When I first watched this series ( whenever that was ) I thought it was so good I assumed Jarvis was about to carve out a new career for himself as a documentary journalist. I feel a bit disappointed that he didn't do more as I think he was one of the most idiosyncratic presenters since Fyfe Robertson, or Ray Gosling - both original and engaging. How about it, Jarvis ?
A great show with Jarvis. I can imagine watching this back then on tv, on a saturday in summer, even though it never happened. Gotta give it to channel 4 or whoever edited the show for not putting the music in the credits. But of course with todays tech, I've used a program to instantly find the song I wanted to hear.
. . . We all! . . Are within!
There are "No" outer artists!
We are "All", within. . .
Thanks man ! Great to watch this program
there was place like the shell house near my house as child called the Buckie House which I loved very much sadly gone now. All things come to pass in the world thankfully! I would have loved to meet the man who died in the 80s his art was wonderful.
Jarvis always downplays his French skills but he seems to hold his own here.
Oui, c’est un bonne français raconter?
Really enjoyed this video. Excellent and thank you for sharing.
Then, of course, there's the "outsider artist" who disappears behind his glasses and parka. :)
I haven’t got time to watch this but I can’t wait till I get the time to ! What a find !!
Thank you Jarvis for the series
this is a real gem.
I really enjoyed this. Thank you.
How have I just found this? Amazing! Love it. 😁👌🏻
For those who want to know that sweet music at 11:50... it's Pulsion by Jacques Loussier czcams.com/video/heuGW9aCZuA/video.html
Thanks. I need this
It’s sad to know that all these places will one day be destroyed.
One day the whole planet/solar system/universe will be destroyed. At least it existed.
Yes, destroyed but it's existence right now means everything. :)
This is a dream come true
Makes a change from the BBC's usual obsession with the USA.
This was actually Channe4, not BBC 👍
@@nova-inc Really? It looks more like BBC's house style. No sign of breaks for adverts.
I have fwded these videos onto a few people by the way
9:40 it's a brick! A brick in ze clouds!!
This was courageous.
i'm confused, he did not live in France in 1998, right? I've read his interview (2009) and he said " I'm not fluent and after six years I should be. People go on language courses and they can speak a language after a year. I haven’t applied myself." But here he DOES speak fluently. WTF😄
well I think calling his halting efforts to communicate fluent is a bit of stretch - he can make himself understood, but it's pretty clear he struggle for words and I'm pretty sure his word order and declension is a bit off. I should know, I'm at about the same level.
Please make available again!
The soundtrack to this is so great, anyone know the song at 10:43?
It's music by Robert Mellin from the 1964 TV series The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe

9:43 Doctor Robotnik
It's odd how the sweeper's stepson showed how he didn't think much of the man. He probably is living off the money that the sweeper left behind. Judging a man's sanity by whether he kept money or not. Money is the exact cause of today's global insanity. Sweeper might have just done the most sane thing by throwing money into the tip.
Does anyone know what the homemade drink is he has with Robert? I can't quite understand what he is saying.
I'd love to watch Chomo's 20 hour movie thing.... Can we watch/buy/download somewhere or are we supposed to go to his house....?
Il y a huit mois maintenant. Tu as déjà vu le film ? It's been 8 months now, did you succeed in watching the film?

Those are the most fucked up looking trees I have ever seen. @16:19...just sayin'
Outsider art is BS, that's what they call my art, Art is Art is Art is.................................
