Wes, I would just like to point out that Temu is a lot of hot water right now and under investigation for unethical practices including $lave labour. I don't want to condemn you for taking a sponsorship from them, I believe you just weren't informed enough about the situation.
I wasn't going to say anything, because I never fault someone for making money... but yeah. It might look a bit bad for Wesley if things go completely sideways for TEMU.
This needs to be the top comment. They are sketchy af and would not want to be associated with them
He's liking every comment that doesn't have to do with Temu 😭
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
He needs to see these ones
The Ultra-Marine’s Red Helmet for Sgts was originally a Hemet of Censure like the Red Gauntlets with the Night Lords. The Red Helmet was given to Ultra-Marine Sgt Theil because he was developing fighting styles and battle plans against other Space Marines. That made the other marines (along with their officer leadership) disgusted and horrified at the time so they made him wear the helmet of censure. Shortly thereafter the Horus Heresy started and Sgt Theil’s plan’s became invaluable along with his heroic acts. From then on Ultra-Marine Sgts painted their helmets red as a sign of respect to Sgt Theil and his contributions.
That's wicked cool. I love 40k lore. It's very up my alley. I'm writing a story on a multiversal lvl. When I started learning about 40k, I realized that my story has a lot of its dark concepts.
The red helmet is a "told you so" moment
@@Tyranid_Hive_Mindfacts 😂😂😂
@@Tyranid_Hive_Mindironic that Orikan brings up the petty angle 🤣
Besides being a humbling acknowledgement of Theil's foresight in the wake of the Heresy, it also was a practical visual indicator for rank among Space Marines. Since Theil was still a Sergeant, when breakdowns in communication occurred within the command structure Theil was the only one who could really, effectively, set things back on track straight away thanks to his red helmet becoming synonymous with his identity. Everyone in the chapter knew who Theil was for getting censured, and everyone knew that Theil was also a Sergeant, so it made him easy to identify and rally around whenever there were communication breakdowns, with the added chaos (no pun intended) of also suddenly fighting an identical enemy with a different paintjob and it wasn't just Astartes = friendly. So once the Heresy was over and they had a chance to review things, the choice to honor Theil in this particular way was both an easy and very practical solution.
Still kind of funny that the Space Marine equivalent of the Cone of Shame you'd put on a dog would be among one of the disciplinary measures used by the Ultramarines. Seems almost too tame for 40k compared to everything else.
Honestly its terrifying that Decimation is the least extreme punishment the astartes could face
Oh that's a great one! I forgot about that. Great example of that happening in angrons Primark novel. Although It does bear to mention that he was crazy and this was definitely viewed as a very very bad thing to do lol

Hey now. Slave labor is more of a Slaaneshi thing
I initially imagined the pain glove, from the guys named FISTS, to be more like an actual big gauntlet on a table looking something like a bit from spongebob where it was more of a how long can you hold your hand in the fire type test. Instead it turns out Dorn was super into something a dark eldar would do on a Friday night
Doesn’t help that TTS had it portrayed as a Literal glove that took away Dorn’s hand. 😅
@@UGNAvalon worse that the entire chapter have a storage of "Magic Pain Glove" but never enough for every members
Something tells me that Dorn may have been a sadomasochist also unintentionally probably would end up currying favor with the dark eldar in some form.
@@Ragnarra Does Dorn show any signs of sadism?
@@screamingcactus1753 magic pain glove is literally used for meditation…
With the Crimson Fist scout becoming a servitor it was because his hypno indoctrination to obey command didn't take. This was seen as a flaw just as if the initiate rejected some of the implanted organs. As such he could never be allowed to become a full marine so was selected to serve the chapter in another way. Not a punishment as such, more a consequence of failed apotheosis.
So at about 10:30 he mentions that crimson fists have been used to hunt down traitor chapters but I don't remember ever hearing that, and the crimson fist omnibus was what got me into Warhammer. Do you know what book that's from?
I think the worst punishment is the ancient relic called the Fourth Wall Peephole, where you see into another realm where all your entire existence, all the worlds, the factions, the beliefs, all of it, has been turned into a tabletop RPG played by nerds and neck beards, who take ungodly joy in playing as Drukhari, Tyrannids and Chaos. You will see them laugh as gene stealers infect an entire craft world, as Chaos Marines wipe out peaceful settlements, as Drukhari do terrible terrible things to nuns.
You should have seen Guilliman's face when he saw all the postings of the mean names they call him. That was one red-faced blueberry.
That’s just looking into the warp and seeing the extended family of the chaos gods messing with peoples lives.
Lmfao, Robot Girlyman was pissed because he was getting called shit like Rowboat Gorillaman
The scariest thing in the whole video is the temu add fr. 😂
I went through a brief (and unsuccessful) phase of trying make Star Wars EU lore videos - I'm keenly aware of how much work a 30 minute video takes (and I never produced anything of your quality with your upload frequency). Long story short - I have an acute appreciation of the work that you put in to these videos! Thank you, Wes!!!
It's not real. It's all AI generated. Wess is actually a hot girl using AI to create WH40K content.
@@DarkThaganyou joke about that but ai generated content is already propping up all over. Especially on tiktok, right now they’re going over clips of podcasts (say joe rogan) then adding stock images/photos over key words in the clip. It would be hard to automate that with a chat gdp writing video scrips and an ai voice program to make it sound real.
Just wanted to say thank you for your content. Especially, for your horror stories. I spent a great time with my mother of 60+ years, watching The watcher in the rain and Perdition's Flame. Those are almost stand alone stories and I didn't have to explain a lot about 40k for her to understand, and we had some awesome time together.
Thank you one more time for posting it. And great thanks to those who wrote the stories.

I remember in the novel Brothers Of the Snake, the space marine squad all admitted to the Sgt that they took part in a little fraternal game of swimming to the bottom of an ocean trench, which was forbidden because many recruits died trying it.
So to punish the squad, the Sgt refused to let them embark on a mission against the orks. Also he made them walk up a glacier in a blizzard, naked with only a pickaxe and a sack. They had to walk to the top, cut a large enough block of ice, and bring it back to the Sgt tent who was waiting with a set of scales.
That is sadistic.
@@Ragnarra it's even funnier that the Sgt is sat in a little tent with a heater and wrapped in a fur coat.
He weighs the block of ice and if its too light, he sends the brother back up the glacier to bring another one.
@@Indoor_CarrotWhy not just melt a bit and tightly pack the fallen snow all around you into the ice to make it heavier? "Solution something problem modern!"
Honestly for a damn near perfect physical specimen that is a space marine, that would still suck, but honestly be pretty doable.
Didn't the squad Apothecary bring back a block that had melted slightly so was underweight?
He was thinking he's failed and the Sargent was like "Have you failed, or have you just not finished yet?"
So he went back for another one
You're the best Warhammer 40k CZcamsr out there, but please reconsider taking Temu sponsorships in the future.
Temu did my man dirty, with the initial scroll including bdsm gear 💀
I’d love for a rogue inquisitor to try and declare the templars or dark angels as traitor just to see what would happen when a chapter with that much power takes on the inquisition.
High marshal Helbrecht offered to call a crusade against the inquisition for Grimaldus due to what the inquisition did to the Celestial Lions and Grimaldus finding out about it and showing the proof to Helbrecht.

Glad you mentioned the servitor punishment in Rynn's World. It was one of the first punishments to come to mind. A Techmarine was the one to carry out the conversion, and he was rather cold and detached from the idea
I was just re-listening to the audio book and hearing the tech marine be so cold and calculated about it even stoping the chapter master to suggest it himself saying that the initiate was a skilled marksman and his said skills could still be put to use as a gun servitor to bad the fortress got totaled their own weapons at that nobody really knows how it happened but the Arx Tyrannis was destroyed by a malfunctioning missile turning and burrowing deep into the base detonating the ammunition storages clapping almost the entire chapter the chapter master (Pedro Kantor) and 4th company commander (Alecio Cortez) and I believe 14 other marines survived luckily they had about 2-300 brothers at New Rynn city in an attempt to defend the chapter world but that number fluctuates cause there was more but the battle took a lot of major people in their chapter like a crazy amount of the command structure was destroyed including all the serfs and servitors at the base meaning that initiate never got to be turned mostllikey sorry for the rant I just really loved that book

He got demoted to lieutenant after crossing the rubicon primaris. Before that he also served the ordo xenos under the deathwatch. Seeing also how he has a chain around his arm too he probably spent some time with the black templars too who took him away at the end of the first game.
Dear Wes, I'm working a job which I hate to feed my family. I'm new to this 40K Warhammer universe. Binging on your videos in the weekends is one of the few things I look forward to in life. Please don't stop making these precious videos. Thank you! 🙏
Warhammer 40k lore is more than enough to entertain anyone, but, you Wes, make it so much more visceral and personal. Almost like I'm there one of the frail humans huddled around a fire hearing tales from a great story of the grim dark!
I like how these punishments can range from
Lobotomy and lots of pain and dishonor to
"Hey, stay and file these taxes"
I want to thank you for these videos. I JUST decided to get into Warhammer and have been watching your content as I've assembled and painted my models. This lore is making the world come to life simultaneously as I'm watching my models come to life. That video on the Dreadnoughts was a punch right in the soul. Giving the history and then that personal story at the end was so narratively satisfying. You have a gift for storytelling my friend.
I read the book Rynns World myself, and Wes I just wanna point out that the Scout Kenyan asked his sergeant to shoot first and was ordered to hold his fire. He disobeyed and took the shot. THATS why he was punished, he disobeyed his sergeant of 1,000 battles and thought he knew better. Space Marines are always expected to obey, and they learn this before they even reach the 10th company as a neophyte. Scout Kenyans punishment for what he did is very common. But, it is however, not common for a space marine to disobey because they are conditioned and expected to obey even if it means death
How about Space Marines that remember their humanity?
From the Black Templar Dreadnought who remember being afraid as a child of beings afraid of swinging with his father, to Dante himself trying to make a hallucination of his true father proud by telling him he succeeded in becoming a space marine (right after his battle with the Swarmlord and before meeting Guilliman in “the Devastation of Baal”) and even new Primaris marines lamenting the loss of their families in both the “Dark Imperium Trilogy” and Cawl’s Great Work book.
Tell me more about the Primaris

"The Alien, the Witch, and the Heretic" is my favorite 40k novel.
This is just what I needed! I wanted to make my own Custom Chapter and The Abyssal Crusade is exactly this kind of backstory I wanted!
Slave labor certainly makes cheep prices.

“Space Marines fight for the Emperor, but they die for their brothers” is a pretty badass quote
I like the Khan’s punishment for those White Scars that had attempted to pledge for Horus, he kept them close, but used them as the speartip. Was it his chief librarian that suggested it? It was in Scars. Path of Heaven details it further.

Wes thank you for all you do but theres a question that's been itching at me recently and could produce a good theory vid! What would happen if an astartes was to take a bite out of a tyranid? What would they learn? What would they become?
Hhhhhhmmmm mucho proteins...
Could tyranids infect other races if they ate its flesh. Like a tyranid designed to be eaten.
They'd likely die, not only is tyranid blood literally acid, every cell of a tyranid is technically a tyranid bio-form, so the space marine would be devoured from the inside
Get an idea on how to turn Tyranids into a food source for the Imperium without the Tyranids taking over the bodies of the humans?
Idk but I’m curious of the flavour profile
Thanks for all the content. I enjoy the deeper dives into lore and the more obscure topics you cover
Another great video, Wes. I'd love to see you talk about unknown mysteries in the Imperium that were redacted for various reasons such as my favorite chapter, the Storm Wardens and their entire first company who were all sealed in stasis and their dreadnoughts sworn to silence and all records of the campaign that led to this decision sealed.
