SpaceX is the pinnacle as it pertains to innovation and development of new space technology. The EV suits are no exception.
In addition, the pressure valve could be correlated with othher sensors elsewhere in the fuel/propellant lines to assist in determining the root cuase of the buzzing(flutter) of the valve. Tory mentioned correlating with accelerometers near the valve hoping to ascertain some sense of reasoning why the valve chattered at that time.
Tory made the correct call. following developed flight rules while humans are on board
No one mentioned what feelings the crew had when they exited from the spaceflight that they had been on board. They may have felt frustrated or had been shocked in a disbelief in the reliability of the vehicle. This scrubbing may discourage to their follwing mission to be accomplished.
Bill, thanks for clarifying the Starliner/ Atlas scrutiny (12:19). And I'm a SpaceX fan by the way, lol.
Yeah, it's probably best to move the press site. It's better to be safe than sorry.
Why not SpaceX installing a short 'Landing only' Tower and use the taller ones for launch only and land on them only when absolutely necessary ?It would not need a launch Pedestal and only needs to be as high as the Booster. It could have a Booster or StarShip on a SPMT within an hour. ready to catch another.
A couple notes: Polaris Dawn flight is mid to late june per their interview with everyday astronaut (Tim Dodd). & Spacex is being a lot more transparent per allowing their engineers to communicate information directly on TwitterX since the beginning of the year. Someone should show jaded Bill. lol. Bill's awesome just comes off as a little slighted / jaded towards SpaceX. If you guys need SpaceX engineers twitter names let me know and I can get that info for you! Rock N Space News!!
I hear the commentary on the suits. Like all SpaceX products, we get the positive PR. But if we recall Ed White's debacle outside Gemini 4, much can go wrong on an EVA with one person, let alone 4 tethered individuals with few handholds on the Dragon exterior. And what are their utility other than customer experience? These are not long-term EVA suits. Be mindful that ISS EVAs are upward of 7 hours, untethered.
I seen the set where they recorded the first step ! At the Cape !
The government agencies doing what the government agencies do… Over budget underperform
Go, China!
Lame explanation and deception. Stop a multibillion project for a 200-dollar valve. See you in two years, Starliner.
