    This video came at the perfect time..
    I keep missing money balls but more specifically the 9 on the spot.. even with perfect position..
    If the ball is anywhere else not on the spot.. tough cuts.. long pot.. doesn't matter.. I then sink the ball but 9 on the spot.. I have developed a mental block on it because of the last few months of missing it..
    Thanks for the tips 🤘🏼🎱

    If you get the chance, I think it would be interesting to see a video about different cue shafts and how they play. I recently went from a 13mm McDermott maple to a 11.8mm Cuetec Cynergy. I have had it for about 2 weeks and some days the switch feels natural, some days i cannot pot a single shot. I find myself having to resort back to basics to try and recalibrate. I find that sometimes the low deflection and possibly the pro-taper gets to me. I also find that I pull a lot more spin with the Cynergy without trying to. If you would make a video about switching between materials, tip sizes and calibrating to each, I think it would be very beneficial to players who have upgraded or switched pool sticks. I have been playing for 4 years now and have watched your videos just as long. You make fantastic content that has vastly improved my game. Thank you, and cheers

    I guess the next thing you can train your student is eye alignment, he should get down and find the right vision that is true to the shot. that's usually why he don't trust himself.

    I think a lot of your viewers would like to watch more about the mental game. Probably all of us at times get out of our game because of pressure, etc.
    And like most things it is often easier to see and troubleshoot others, so how many of us know folks at the pool hall that p,any really well, but in a match their game goes down about 30% or so, they hit too hard, etc.
    A while back I was watching a video of a pro match with Earl Strickland and he was struggling, and it was clear to see how was jumping up when shooting. I remember thinking “why aren’t any on his side pointing it out to him?” He got more and more agitated and his jumping up as he shot got even more pronounced. If it can happen to him…

    If moving the cue in a straight line is the one thing you should be focusing on in the end (to the point where you made your student look away) why are so many experts/teachers INSISTENT on looking at the object ball last before shooting? I struggle with doing this but also struggle with understanding WHY this is considered so important in the first place when really the stroke is the most important thing at the very end.

    Great video as always! Could you do a video on alignment please? Mostly the head and eyes over the cue but also the shoulders and hips. I suspect that I’m missing so many straight shots because my alignment is slightly off and I’ve spent months trying to fault find it 😞

    • @shader26
      @shader26 Před 21 dnem +1

      I think too that goes hand in hand with playing too fast. I have to watch out for that too and even when focused and with a rythm going (about the same short time between shots, being in the groove) it is then easier to jump up to go to the next shot even before the ball goes in. And of course, then missing. Need to slow down time, not always literally, but in your mind.

    • @shader26
      @shader26 Před 21 dnem +1

      I remembered (mentioned above) I saw one match where even Earl Strickland was jumping up as he shot, and missing, and getting more and more irritated which made him do it even more. Thought it was weird that his coach or trainer didn’t mention it to him. So if it can happen to a player of that quality…we all have to guard against it. Happens specially when we rush ourselves or are stressed I think.

    I could use some advice. I had been realizing my sight is very up and down, depending on how much sleep I got, etc. and after an eye exam just got some “progressive” glasses. Taking a little to get used to. But shooting pool, so far it both helps and hurts my game.
    Specially with long straight in shots. When I’m down on the ball, the top of the frame of the glasses is in the way so I end up having to raise my head more than usual which is a strain. Have tried to look over the top of the frames (kind of defeating the purpose of the glasses) but then it messes up my peripheral sight of my cue on the cue ball, it sort of distorts the angle. I’ve only been wearing them for a week now. Tried going back to not using them when playing but overall I think they improve my game as I see much more focused and clear. But again, long shots are now a problem. Anyone have experience with this? Did you just raise your head more or maybe move your head up and down lining up and then concentrate on hitting the cue ball as you have lined it up?

      I have a similar issue. Scarring on my right cornea has shifted my center to the left, and the focal range required to shoot pool. OB down the table is blurred, looking back and forth btwn cue and OB.

      There are special glasses for pool players, that don't have a frame. The glasses are also a bit higher than usual. If you look online I am sure you'll find something.

      @@Sharivari Thank you! I tried “pop eyes” which are a small nose support that ouches the glasses up higher, but that messed up my shorter vision. Am getting used to the normal progressive glasses now. I may check out special glasses later but seems it just took a little time to get adjusted with these, I wasn’t patient enough.

    is all bllsht when talk about angles, cut throw, spins. When you're down, it's all about feeling and experience. Not completely bllsht, but tbh, just focus putting the ball, control cue with natural line, ofc speed matters. But, just fkkin focus🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
    After watching your CIT and SIT Vids, my game was awful, too much thinking about throw and spin😂 but once i'm doing on auto pilot(like doesn't focus on CIT and SIT but still doing those sht), it's better and more consistent.
    Just focus guys, just focus, is all about experience. Believe me, if you're not focus enough, then you doesn't know if the object ball ended more left or right after the shoot, even tho you're the shooter.

    • @JerryLee..
      @JerryLee.. Před 22 dny +1

      Autopilot is key, but if a shot is missed, it's important to understand why so you can correct. In my example: you make balls in practice but get nervous and shoot soft in a game. What happened? It's CIT when shooting soft. The key for me is; Don't hold back on your stroke, finish the stroke. How? Worry less about making the shot but focus on delivering the cue straight and with timing.
