- I don't think I've ever seen a battle with such a slow start have such a tense ending.
This would be the part where you all say "Challenge accepted!"

That Yudachi was MVP for the winning team. His hits on the Cherbourg kept him reset enough to win with that 1 point! Damn that was close
CV should have been going for the DD rather than the BB at the end!
Spoiler alert
Next time watch the video before you read comments @@DerkaGames
Had the Cherbourg not shot at the Scharnhorst on his way to the cap, which delayed him, it may have been enough too.
Holy shit! You're right! I hadn't even thought of that!
*Drachinifel:* goes on for 53 minutes to say the Alaskas are large cruisers.
*Jingles in under 10s:* Battlecruiser it is deal with it :P
What I thought immediately. Though I doubt Jingles would change his mind
honestly considering admiral King love for Royal Navy Jingles reasoning might be valid....
You can follow Drach's argument - i.e. that the Alaskas are a development of cruisers. But as history didn't play out that way and the job of the Alaksa's was exactly that of a Battlecruiser - they're battlecruisers.
I've in the past argued that the Iowas are actually battlecruisers in many ways (sacrafice armour for speed, not armoured against their own guns. Had the Montanas, H Class, Lions, Soyuz etc all be built they I think that's how they'd have been looked at - but they weren't so they're battleships....
Its an interesting discussion actually as for what defines a Battlecruiser is the country fielding it.
He's going to summon the Dark Lord of Naval History if he's not careful.
Haven't heard a red dwarf reference from Jingles in a minute!! worryingly it took me a second to remember where it was from. and No Jingles, it's a Banana, a yellow fruit you unzip and eat the white bits!!
What are you going on about? It is CLEARLY the Bolivian Navy on maneuvers in the South Pacific!
@@janhgh3400 What a smee hee.
@@janhgh3400 No it's not, it's a female aardvark!
Can’t believe y’all don’t know it’s a duck
Well spin my nipple nuts and send me to Alaska, Jingles on the Red Dwarf quotes again. Been a while. 😁
The Cherbourg made multiple poor decisions in this battle. Multiple times he held his fire when he should have fired (like at the start, not shooting the cruiser coming out broadside from behind an island cover even though he had a shot before the guy went stealth) and then shooting the Scharnhorst when he himself was so low on health that a sneeze in his general direction would have sunk him. Good carrier deletion though, that’s always very much appreciated :D
It was frustration to watch all those not fired shots.
He has no idea how to play that ship. I'd even go as far as saying he is a noob. Just looking at his gameplay it's evident. Constantly showing broadside, trying to kite away in the middle of the map even tho all his guns are in the front, poor targeting, poor positioning, shooting at an enemy BB on 2.5k HP. It's a miracle he wasn't deleted at some point in the game. He is trying to play that ship as if it was a standard long range HE spammer heavy cruiser instead of sailing up to an island and locking down a part of the map for the enemy.
Going into the 3rd cap also probably cost them the game. Getting spotted and then hit, reset the progress that the Akatsuki had on the cap. If he had stayed out of the cap circle, it was likely that the cap would have happened sooner and so a few extra points and enough to win the game.
Edit: I was wrong. The Akatsuki enters the cap at 1:25 and the cap is flipped at 0:27. The Cherbourg saved 2 seconds despite having their cap contribution (not the Akatsuki's to clarify) reset, but it was obviously at great risk. In retrospect, it was a gamble either way and the Yudachi played it really well. If the Yudachi had been more aggressive in trying to defend the cap, the Cherbourg may have been the difference in sinking it. If the Yudachi played it safely, like they did, then going in put themselves at a lot of risk. Either way, I don't blame the Cherbourg in their decision making at this point, I would not have gone in myself but the points ended up such that a gamble was necessary.
He doesn't even have expert loader, for whatever reason. Can see it at 9:33 when he is switching from HE to AP and then uses a reload booster to finish the shell type switch.
I'd also like to point at 11:30 in the video, where he pressed almost all the buttons in a panic, thus wasting his last reload booster.
Oh, lovely, it's a small off-duty Czechoslovakian traffic warden game!
A red dwarf reference and perfectly injected meows? A top tier video this is
Warheads on foreheads... Someones been watching The fat electrician, eh Jingles :D
Just about to comment on that! 😅
Pretty sure this saying has been around for ages
@Jingles -- thanks for featuring this game and the commiserations at the end. It was a real heart breaker game, but that's how it goes sometimes; watching it back again, i really enjoyed it. So close right to the end.
Battlecruisers: Even chewier than Barrow in Furness bus depot….
epic advert! [el'sda2].
the fact that this guy was the first on his team makes the whole experience a lot more depressing.
The US Navy was worried that if it called its "large cruisers" Battlecruisers funding might be switched from the Iowa or Montana battleships hence the change in their naming.
The spotting disappearing was the kagero going behind the little island.
I had to scroll way to far to see the correct, but still absurd, explanation. The "large cruiser" designation was to be sure the funding and resources for the Alaskas was considered to be under a cruiser program, not a battleship one. But they were very much "pocket battleships". The 12 inch mk8s were very impressive naval artillery.
I love your laugh, Paul. I feel like lately I've been living Jingles video to Jingles video. Thanks for keeping me laughing :)
Thank you Mr jingles ( mr charlton ) you always make amazing videos! Keep up the great work!
My best morning coffee is with Jingles videos
1:42 "His team have a Sanzang, I have no idea what that is"
Oh Mighty Rear Admiral Jingles. It's in the Pan-Asian tech line, but is a re-skin of the USS Saipan. It's from the "Journey to the West" Chinese folk tale which we would know better as the basis for the "Monkey!" TV show, shown on BBC2 back in the late 70's early 80's. The Sanzang is one of four ships which are the representation of the four characters, Trippitaka (Sanzang), the Buddist Monk in the show, along with Sandy (Wujing), Pigsy (Bajie) and of course Monkey (Wukong) himself.
Came here to say this. Was my very first set of purchases and I got 3 of the 4 ships in 5 containers. Never had any luck sense 🤣🤣
crazy ive been watching you for nearly 12 years, love your work jingles
I love how low tier games are quick and simple, while high tier are long and thought out complicated works of art
That was damn close.
Some rather interesting choices by this player. Not great gameplay but some decisions the average potato wouldnt do correctly. Looks like someone on the path to improving :)
I’m so glad you brought back the Burlington Coatfactory torpedo beats!!!! I didn’t realize how much I missed it.
Red Dwarf reference.
Thank you Jingles for making my laugh out loud and have my family glare at me.
Back to the salt mines I go.
Thank you for sharing this jaw dropping replay with us! 😮 It was really close but, as grandpa used to say, "Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades!" 😂
Sweet. A Red Dwarf quote. Thank you old man for having excellent taste in humor.
Outstanding video.
Great video sir! Thank you!
I don't play WoWS anymore but something about listening to Jingles commentate on a battle gets me... Maybe its because I've been a fan of his since like, 2012, or whenever he first started gaining popularity in WoT. Happy birthday Jingles!
At first sighting of a Jingles World of Warships video, I naturally click to watch. That’s my style, sir!
Did Major Lennox panic after you crossed the bridge?
I have never played World of Warships or World of Tanks but I watch your videos anyways because you are always so witty!
I'm super glad to hear the torpedo beats making a return!
The Izmail got burned down by the AL Cheshire, not the Baltimore.... Never change Jingles.😂
When the game is interesting, you barely care about the final result. Great vids Mr. Jingles.
Wow Jingles, this one caught me off guard. What a game!
A pleasure as usual jingles, hope your doing okay!!
That Yudachi is lucky no one was peppering that smokescreen with blind fires or charging him down to end him at the last moment.
That was one hell of a replay, and a heck of a game.
Great match. Thanks.
"I know what I'm looking at and I know what it's called"
"Alaska is a battlecruiser"
A jingle vid on my B-Day ty ty ill take it, gonna be a great day!!!
don't forget he was the only player of the whole battle to reach 1700 base xp, while the winning enemy top player only got over 1500.
As a scarecrow, people say I’m outstanding in my field. But hay - it’s in my jeans.
ow i missed that torpedo-dodging gif. Love that!
I remembere winning Battlefield 1942 Clan Battle (4 rounds) by 1 point. Shadowing enemy cap by 3 sec on lost round gave us that edge. So, boys, every second matters.
5:26 a Fat Electrician reference Jingles? I did not expect that from you. You’re a man of culture I see.
It's been so long since the torpedo dodging music with Benedict!
Nice to hear our favourite cat in the back halfway through the vid
The Cherbourg is a delightful ship to play, I definitely had a great time grinding it out. Now I’m playing with the Brest.
Love staying up at 1 am to watch a Jingles vid. Cheers to any Europeans from an American with a miserable sleep schedule!
"looks like a battlecruiser... smells like a battlecruiser, tastes like a battlecruiser..."
"Hmm, Neddy, this battlecruiser is beautifully cooked!"
And if you get that reference you are probably even older than Jingles. If you didn't there was a Red Dwarf piti-ref for you.
Thanks
Love that torpedo beats are back
I can honestly say I have never found myself so intrigued by a CZcams title. 😂
Smeggin’ hell, love the reference 👍
OMG, that Flints accuracy! 🙈
one of the best matches this year
Hey Jingles, please stay healthy i will pray for you and have you prayed in our church for good health. Please take care of yourself old man. My days arent complete without a video from you
Love you man! Be well
Good evening Lachy...having a cheeky beer and watching the stream
Sanzang is just a Saipan with a different national flag and a fancy paint job. It was a possible reward from the latest event pass containers.
I call it a Heavy gun boat. LOL That defeat is a testimony of the unfair battle tally of this game.
Nice Red Dwarf reference near the start of the game. 😊
To be fair, the Alaska class were designated "large cruisers" so their construction would be approved. Even then they haggled over whether they would finish them or not because the whole reason they were built no longer existed by the time they were close to being complete.
This game shows the importance of grabbing the caps.
Nice Red Dwarf reference Mr Jingles! o7
It's nice to see the torpedo beats back.
yeah, but what really miss is the old 'Kraken Unleashed' meme.
Well played. Nailbiter.
Happy wife, Happy life.
Nothing rhymes with husband....
Mornin Admiral ☕
Orphaned rhymes... do with that what you will lol
I‘m more with Bob Marley: No Women - No cry.
Happy spouse, happy house.
Happy hand, Happy husb... No, It doesn't work as planned
There was an old Nagato replay where the game dragged towards a draw when the Nagato fired a hail mary salvo across the map and sunk a low hp cruiser. Close victory.
"Warheads on Foreheads" this makes me wonder if Jingles watches The Fat Electrician.
One amazing game for both
I think this often - That's a fucking good intro!
Credit where credit is due, but damn was that a close game
Well wishes, Gnome Overlord.
I felt this one.
This jingles guy is ok in my book.
Torpedo beats remind me of "Wai you gaf to be mad" series.
Was awesome that!
Hi Jingles. Hi Rita. Hi Kitty Mistresses.
I loved Akizuki's comments today. She always has a good point. Quite a few pointy bits actually.
Please give her and the Grand Dame Hjusie scritches and treats.
How to describe today's battle? I'd say a bunch of ships steaming around taking potshots when an opportunity arose saying "Go on, get in there" to each other. Then someone did, and it was on.
Then it ended on a nail biter buzzer beater.
Have a wonderful evening, compadre. 🐈🐈⬛👑✌️🖖
Good morning, Jingles!
I checked the toilet this morning... we're blood brothers! XD XD XD
I'm so sorry..... heheheheheee
The Yadatchi knew that one salvo and one torp spread would be enough to delay the capture of the last cap.
Get well Jingles!
Red Dwarf reference, for the win!!!
Good morning Gnome Overlord. All the best.
That finish.
The laughter is fake, only the tears are real.
For all of the George Carlin fans out there, this issue of when a Battle Cruiser is that, or when it is ' Something else ' and how we are wrong not to change how we call this or that what it is rather than stick with what it IS rather than calling it something other just to give some BOZO 5 seconds of notoriety. This is the utter Insanity that led to the BC's being put in the line of battle when the armor was never built to serve in that capacity and sunk as a result, and as I finish this I can hear him now and see the look on his face, LOL there are some expressions that will never be copied again, He was/is/will be priceless, LOLOLOLOL. Then I recall I am replying to you and in many respects you are the UK version and we are blessed with getting all of your first run humor free of charge several days a week, Thank your good Sir.
Battle Cruiser to Large Cruiser is Britain letting us copy their homework and us changing the name at the top. We are two naval powers and are friends. Of course we pass notes.
Warheads on foreheads... has our overlord Jingles been watching the fat electrician?
I'm wondering Jingles: How smells a battlecruiser? And how tastes a battlecruiser?🤣🤣
Ask a window lic-ker!
The digital sea is a cruel mistress. 😮❤😮
14:15 - dear Jingles, you must be a mathematician: "He writes a, he says b, he means c, but it should be d" ((C) George Pólya)
Nice to see Sherlock back.
And what a defeat. Oof
love the title
I look at it like this battlecruisers had the guns of its contemporary battleship, which the Alaskas definitely did not, and I also believe that if some of the Montana class got finished the Iowa would be called battlecruisers. So I don't think saying Alaska class as black and white definitely battlecruisers doesn't quite fit
They are slower then their contemporary BBs too, something BCs aren't, and if Iowa makes the shift to BC thanks to Monty, that doesn't help the Alaska's case
In my opinion, the whole "does it have the same size guns as a battleship" issue doesn't really matter. If a ship has significantly bigger guns than standard cruisers, and is designed to easily kill those cruisers while running from battleships, it's a battlecruiser. To me "large cruiser" is just another name for a battlecruiser. The guns being exactly battleship size or a bit smaller doesn't change the ship's real capabilities or role.
I would argue (and I've rambled on about these topics at length on the relevant Drach videos😁) that the Iowas are still battleships because they were designed to be able to fight other battleships. I mean, they would have been the best available choice to take on a Yamato in surface combat if that need had arisen, and an Iowa would have been a credible opponent against a Yamato despite being only about 70% the tonnage. I think it's more accurate to consider the Iowas as a fast (faster, anyway) battleship equivalent of the South Dakotas (more tonnage to get more speed without sacrificing any of the guns or armor) than a battlecruiser counterpart to the Montanas.
Had a few like that on both sides. Great game. Seems to me that the friendly CV was focused on the wrong target. He was chasing the Scharny, but Yudachi was the prime target, more likely to be killed and spotting forces him away.
methinks Jingles has been watching The Fat Electrician
00:50 Old man is a large cruiser-licking speshul person, haha. 🙃
As I always say: You need to catch at least one cap circle at the beginning.
For those that don’t know, the Sanzang is basically just a Saipan.
Thanks for all the videos, Jingles.
Can't express how much they help distract from the bottomless void of shit that is modern life. It sucks paying attention to the world being on fire. I don't recommend doing that, but also demand it.
Suspanse until last seconds, nice.
1:01 I caught the Red Dwarf reference you snuck in there.
Such a slow start having such a tense ending? I am English and my wife is German so that is every conversation we have.
This was a game of throws. The Cherbourg could have gotten into the cap fast enough to prevent the enemy team getting enough points for the win. Instead he took a pointless pot shot at the shiny horse, had to manoeuvre to avoid return fire, and delayed his entry into the cap. One tick was all he needed, and he blew it.
Nice Red Dwarf reference.
