Let’s Be Veterinarians--- MeiJia Mandarin Summer Camp 美佳中文夏令营2022

Let’s Be Veterinarians, we covered various topics such as proper care to keep pets healthy and happy, safety rules for being around pets, knowing what to do if a pet gets sick, some of the tools a veterinarian uses, and what veterinarians check during a routine wellness check-up. Students were encouraged to role-play and immerse into a character of their choice, whether it be a compassionate veterinarian or a responsible pet owner. We also invited two guests to talk about how to take care of pets and perform tricks.
The first week of this camp, we visited a local pet store, which was a great place for kids to exercise their observational skills. They learned about the different habitats, diets, and common health issues of the pets they saw.
During the second week, the class discussed the importance of pets and animals in our lives. Animals support us in so many ways. Animals bring so many helpful services and emotional support to us. Animals are friends, companions, and even family to some. Through various crafts, activities, and demonstrations, we hope that by bringing awareness to how animals feel, students learn to be more responsible and respectful to every form of life. We are very proud of all the improvements the students have made in their Mandarin.
