Heck Yeah Tim fixing those holes. That stuff is amazing. And love that driveway sensor. Give y'all heads up to grab what you might need to grab. 🤟✌️
Oh yeah! Thx
@@RidgeLife Oh yeah! Oh YEAH!
Nice patch on the driveway, and like your security alarm. Thanks for sharing, have a good week!
Thank you!
Great advice on patching a driveway!! And I absolutely love the security alarm. Thanks Tim!! Have a good one!!!
Thanks
Oh Oh Lilah Newton I sigh a big sigh seeing your name !!!
Great job Tim on the driveway patch. It will do just fine until $10,000 grows on some of those trees in the yard. 😁 The driveway alarm is awesome. It’s almost like the one you put on your Moms driveway entrance. Starla was really putting the alarm to the test. 😊 I loved it. You guys have a wonderful evening and God Bless.🇺🇸💕
You got that right! Thanks!
Tim you are the master of all things lol . I think you can tackle any project, good for you , I’m impressed . ❤️❤️❤️
Ha! I try. Thx
I put a piece of wood down over my spots and drove my car of it, I was surprised how well it works. I have that tool but it isn't the same as wood and weight of SUV, could care less about what people think I do what works for me. This goes for EVERYTHING in my life
I agree! Good deal.
First, and that's only because I haven't been to sleep yet. Up all night!!! Bummer!! I'll be back after the video!!
Wow! Get some sleep!!! Thx
It’s pretty similar to what my husband, Matt, uses on patching holes at his job for The department of transportation. That stuff is great!!
Oh, yeah!
Its nice having the ashphalt thou because any work trucks can park on there and not damage that gorgeous concrete
Very true.
Great product review on the driveway alarm, and I love how fast and easy that asphalt repair is! Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure!
Good job Tim@Ridgelife Driveway looks Great and Love Solar Alarm 🚨 System works Great 👍
Thank you Mary.
I have cracks in mine,I'm going to try using that !!! Thanks again!!
Good luck!
Nice job Tim… I like the solar alarm 🤙🏼😁👍🏼
Thanks Eric
Thanks for this! All the best my friend.
Same to you!
Thanks Tim! Learned a lot.😊
My pleasure!
Good job Tim!
Thanks!
Very informative, thank you
My pleasure!
Nice driveway alarm system Tim
Thank you!
Thank you for your informative video! Really appreciate you taking the time to explain things clearly and thoroughly! Reminds me of “This Old House”! 👍
My pleasure!
Cool video I love the drive way thing
Thank you.
Good morning Timmy
Good morning brother!
Definitely need this product to fill the gap in the QPR defence.😀 Queens Park Rangers FC , the original QPR since 1882 . Would be great if you were QPR’s shirt sponsor. 😀
Very cool!
great video
Thanks!
Thank you for this!! Confirmed I did things right. The only question I have is can I resurface my driveway with this?
My driveway replacement is actually over $10k so...."not today!" 12:53 😂
You are welcome. Not while areas but smaller areas for sure. Needs something to bind to on all sides.
Cool enjoyed 😆
Thanks!
My concrete driveway is horrible, we need to replace it but like you said it is NOT cheap. Sometimes I wish it was asphalt so we could repair it 🤷♀️... Wow that's a really cool security system 👍
Have you seen Sunnyslope concrete repair video? Pretty cool.
@@RidgeLife ha unfortunately ours is beyond repair. One of these days we'll replace it 😃
If it’s concrete, don’t be afraid to patch it with mortar and cement. People pay me $40 an hour to patch concrete driveways that way, patches usually last another 5-10 years easily. Typically can patch an entire driveway in a day for about $800
I have the same unit for the security system. I have in 4 locations... definitely works well...funny thing is remember what tone is which location 😂
Ha! I bet!
I'd use tanerite to clean the hole out. . Well wait, that'd cause. . Oh nm. . Haha. . Happy Thursday Tim.
Good idea! Love me a big BOOM!
Thanks for this, I was curious if I could use this by myself, it looks pretty straightforward.
May I ask a question: I have a steep concrete driveway and 2 Priuses. :) My cars scrape each time I go up or down the driveway. The slope is more substantial for about 5 feet right where the driveway meets the road, it's about 20% using the level/ruler method. I am considering filling the sloped place with this stuff, hopefully reducing the slope. Would it work for that? It looks a little liquidy as you indicate, would I be able to shape it on a slope? Thanks!
I think it will work. If you tamp it in the shape you need it will set. Good luck!
Great video. Can I use this product or something similar and then to make everything look the same just put down black sealer over entire driveway of my house?
If you can get it level, it will work great!
Good Morning to You Preacher Man Tim how are you doing ??? Love the security alarm video !!! I have cement to do in the garage and the driveway and abit of it to go around the garage !!! I got that for the house only 2 curtains open in the kitchen and Tim I had a Peeping tom last week it was scary for me got those in on both windows for myself it is better now I am not HIDING in the bedroom with youtube then !!!
Whoa! That's wild!
@@RidgeLife YEAH IT IS BUT I AM SAFE IN THE HOUSE!!! SO THINGS ARE GETTING ROUGHER OUT THERE GET SOME MORE OF THOSE FOR THE HOME YOU GOT TIM!!! LINDA P.
I have a lot of deer on my property and they love the driveway. How do you prevent the alarm from tripping every 10 minutes when they're out?
I set it to low se sensitivity and pointed it up but they will still make it go off occasionally.
I have a sink hole in my driveway. Once I remove the sinking asphalt, what should I fill the hole with before using the cold patch?? I was planning on crushed stone and sand, but it seems sand would not be a good idea?
Depends how deep. If over a foot, dirt. If shallower, just fill with patch.
Helpful video. Since it's been well over a year, do you still recommend the driveway product and the alarm system?
Yes! It’s hard as a rock! Just make sure you get it level.
my potholes are deep in middle into the base in fact but only about 10mm round the edges. In other words I don't seem to have a huga tarmac thick surface. Can I use this cold tarmac?
I would think so. It will bind. Build it a bit think and drive over to smooth. Helps when warm outside.
Question... can you use this stuff on the curves. I had col asphalt on the drive Thursday ,not happy with the edging. I'd like to make it stronger. Tried to get a hold of the guys but he keeps saying he'll come up. I paid cash, and didn't receive a bill. Pissed off at myself
Haven’t tried it yet but works fine on edges.
12:55 Many CZcams Inspired Projects Start this Way!!! 🤣
Yes!
$10k sounds good compared to a quote I got the other day 😬 We’ve got a gravel drive but hope to asphalt someday.
I am scared to see what concrete will be to replace the asphalt portion!
did this ever set up for you? its been 4 months and if its 80F its just as soft as the day I poured it. im trying to turn the top layer into concrete to cap it, but I dont think this ever "hardens"
Like a rock! We are in the mid south too. It's hot here!
In cold weather can I use a torch?
Not sure it will cure properly that cold.
How does it compare to aquaphalt?
QPR is a lot less expensive for sure!
I’ve never use that product.
Could a guy power wash out a hole or low spot, as long as it was thoroughly dry?
Absolutely!
That bump was a dead deer that lay to the side of the rd road kill - I know so bec the deer holding the camera told me so
Haha!
This is my driveway’s are concrete!
This is holding up well so far.
Does the asphalt patch stick to your tires and shoes?
Nope. Once it cures, it hard and dry.
@@RidgeLife
Thanks! That’s good to know. How long until it dried?
Nice and hard the next day but better over time.
no my bag of qpr was so sticky it was hard to get out of the bag.... mine did not pour out it was so sticky....i had a lot of small holes to fill..
Ugh! Yeah mine was warm and poured like liquid almost!
Does it have to be ok level
Not a bit.
What's in the box?
Haha!!!
Can we get a video of it 4 months later? :)
Sorry no video but I drove over it every day with a f-250 and it looks great. I wish I would have leveled it a bit more and it didn’t settle as much as I thought it would. Good stuff!
C'mon with the Fabulous Ass-fault repair there Deacon
HA!
@@RidgeLife ass-fault c’mon
💯👌🤘🏼🙏❤
Thanks!
😃👍🇺🇸
Thx!
Where's my sidewalk chalk?
Cops washed it away…
The patch will not last more than one winter. Alarm is good
We shall see. I am hopeful. It’s solid as a rock so far. Thx
You learned from CZcams then made a video 😂😂
I do that a lot! Hopefully my videos are an improvement. That’s what I strive for at least. Thx!
Definite improvement.
I'm not adapted to do that lol
No worries.
Bit Mistake. All your edges should be squared off and 2 inches deep. What you did was just a bandaid and all the edges will fall off very soon.
Been there for almost two years. No issues so far!
I can tell you what to buy to keep your teeth in Mr Tim ! Haha! LOL!
Haha!!
Ain’t no way that even lasted a year. Asphalt can’t be feathered at all
It’s actually held up a couple years and going strong and that’s with a trash truck and f-250 driving over it all the time!
Dude where is your asphalt
Huh? What video did you watch?
This stuff doesn't cure. Been three weeks, still loose.
Mine was hard as a rock in no time. Still is a year later. Did you you the same product?
@@RidgeLife Yes, but they put it down during cold weather. But we've had plenty of hot days since. I'll be more patient. But there's no way you can drive over it. Even the riding mower peels it up.
@@informalfallacies yeah, need to fully tamper it in to get proper adhesion.
Cold patch blows 🤣🤣
Working great for us!
QPR is garbage.
Quickrete asphalt patch is much better, and hardens sooner.
By far and away the best is aquaphalt; sprinkle water on it, tamp down, and it’s rock hard in 20 minutes…but expensive.
QPR did great and is holding up so far. I will have to check that out though. Thx!
This won't last. Best to work in cut squares or rectangles 2" deep or more. Then the compression forces adhesion to the edges of the hole.
This "expert" will be redoing his patch in a couple of years (within the next year, I'd bet as it is now 2 years old). Don't believe everything you see on CZcams. Never "feather" asphalt.
This video was several years ago and the patch is as good today as the day it was put down. Do it right with the right materials and DIY works. Now a professional resurface would be better but $$$$$
@@RidgeLife OL, OK Mr. Expert
Just giving my actual experience with the product.
this had to be one of the cringe creepy videos i have seen....very odd
Glad you enjoyed it's oddness!
@RidgeLife no absolutely didn't enjoy it,to be honest very difficult to watch...got an odd creep take about it..
