  • The Aerophone AE-20 delivers the expressive playability of the flagship Aerophone Pro in a more compact and streamlined design. Express yourself with over 250 sounds ranging from lifelike SuperNATURAL acoustic instruments to futuristic ZEN-Core synth tones. The reed-constructed mouthpiece contains built-in breath and bite sensors for vibrato and pitch control, creating a natural playing experience. And with a variety of fingering settings-including sax, clarinet, flute, trumpet, recorder, and more-you can pick it up and start playing immediately.
    When you play a digital wind instrument, your practice sessions don’t have to be a performance. Just connect headphones to your Aerophone and start silently jamming, day or night. Lightweight, portable, and battery-powered, you won’t be confined to your home or studio. Go play wherever inspiration takes you. And using the Aerophone Lesson app, you can continue to sharpen your skills to get the most out of your instrument.
    In this video, Keith McKelley demonstrates and explains the sound, features, and design details that make the Aerophone an ideal choice for everyone from hobbyist wind players to professional producers.

    Just got mine today (an upgrade to my beloved AE10). Lots to delve into, but first impressions are most impressive, despite some minor teething probs getting used to the new keys/layout, which is to be expected anyway. Really looking forward to diving in - and with the apps also. Lots to explore and enjoy, I am sure... 🎷👍 Thank you Roland!

    I find that the Roland aerophones are fine if you’re only playing them with the synth tones, but the built-in sounds for acoustic instruments such as violin, trumpet, clarinet etc. leave something to be desired. So, instead of using the built-in sounds, I use my AE-10 as a MIDI controller, connecting it to my iPad with a cable (pretty sure you can use Bluetooth for this with the AE-20). Then on my iPad, I use the apps from a company called Audio Modeling to produce the sound of the instrument. As of a few months ago, they now have apps for every instrument in the orchestra. I use this setup (along with a portable amplifier connected to the iPad) to play bassoon in my local community orchestra and cello with a trio I also play in. The french horn app is also great, and I’m planning to play that as well in a concert band I’m hoping to join in the near future.

    The Roland Aerophone Pro is the most modern wind instrument, the current superior function and timbre. But Roland invented the ultimate product but lacked video clips for users to use and express ... it is really wasteful because when using AE10 is good, but when using AE30, it does not achieve high efficiency because of the lack of advanced installation sample video clips ... I fall into this category and there are many other users.... I hope Roland soon has more advanced video clips to let users be widely used around the world with Aerophone instruments or how great !!! Thank you Roland !!!

    hello. I am an Aerophone AE-20 user. I was setting up CC controls to assign different functions to the banding keys. I released the button halfway through (maybe CC 21 or 22?). Since then, the display has been scanning scenes non-stop. Even if I turn it off and on, it doesn’t stop scanning and I can‘t do anything anymore. The screen keeps changing, so I can’t enter the menu or do a factory reset. So I tried updating the firmware, but it still doesn‘t stop. Please tell me how to solve it.

  • @gregorywonderlike9852

    If the aerophone 20/30 from Roland, the yds-150 from Yamaha and swam instruments from audio-modeling had a baby, we would have the perfect wind synth😊. Seriously, Roland's sophisticated synth engine, a slightly improved key-layout from Yamaha's yds-150, and the stunning realism of software instruments from audio-modeling are the perfect components for a good wind-synth! Admittedly, as of today's standards the price for such an all-in-one solution would probably be too high for any potential wind-synth customer.😢

    all theses years and acoustic instrument still sound like something made in the 80s, with all the quality samples that we can have today I really don't understand how it can still happen now

    • @mech____
      @mech____ Před 2 lety

      acoustic instruments should sound relatively similar to each other for thousands of years :p digital tone production has basically infinite permutation but by keeping basic tones relatively similar it allows musicians to have similar starting points between synths; if i wanted to run an aerophone and a key synth through the same tone shaping circuit, having them start from similar sounds is an advantage that i can work out later down the line. kind of like buying a steak from the store, the seasoning and how you cook it is what gives it that personal taste even if every cut of steak starts the same.
      i feel ya tho, instruments are def one of those things where an unwillingness to innovate can masquerade behind picky customers who want more of the same

    • @Trizno
      @Trizno Před rokem

      Considering the size of the instrument, this is a great accomplishment considering the size/amount of equipment it took to create/play these samples in real time (in the 80's). I'm impressed...

    As a very happy owner of an ae-30 aerophone, today I discovered this brand new ae-20 version, apparently a little less advanced than the ae-30 flagship (for example, disappearance of the very useful button to change the tone on the fly). The only question I ask myself is whether on this version Roland has succeeded in completely eliminating the one and true defect of the aerophones, namely the very unpleasant clicking of the keys which spoils the pleasure of being able to play without an amp?
