Standard Disclaimer: Putting your soft, squishy fingers near powerful sharp spinning things is dangerous. I've been doing this for a while and I know what I'm doing but even I'm not invincible. I take a lot of safety precautions based on my level of experience and not all of them are shown on camera. Don't do anything you aren't comfortable with. If it makes you nervous you're probably doing it wrong. Don't do anything stupid. Reapply sunscreen often and floss before bed. Is anyone actually still reading this? - Věda a technologie
well done!!!
jimmydiresta Thanks buddy!
You probably dont give a shit but does someone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account..?
I somehow forgot the password. I appreciate any help you can offer me!
@Rodney Patrick Instablaster =)
@Gavin Titan Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now.
I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Gavin Titan it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my ass :D
Best CNC upgrade I’ve seen to date! Thanks for making 1 car garage shops a reality for the rest of us to drool over!
Seth Hubler lol awesome and no problem!
Glad to see that you've been doing something useful with the time that you've been gone. Looking forward to seeing more from your new toy. - Chris
fcschoenthal thanks!
Just received my Shapeoko 3 XXL and built it last night. Very inspirational video. Awesome build. My next project. Thanks for the concept and insight.
John Taylor awesome have fun!
Dude!!!! This is epic!!! Gives me hope for a CNC in my single car garage too. I love everything about this enclosure. Can't wait to see the content you produce with it!
Luke Martin thank you!
Wow, Blake! - one of the absolute best videos I have ever seen with respect to camera work, close-ups, artistic views, music, etc., etc. etc. Man, you are one talented guy - I couldn't even begin to guess the hours you spent putting this CNC together, building the enclosure, adding your electrical work and switches, the video production, etc. Wow, just wow! I am so proud that a fellow Santa Cruz "One Car Garage Workshop" woodworker is so talented in so many different ways. Makes me think about hanging up my cameras and deleting my Premier Pro since my videos absolutely pale by comparison (darn you!). I am a big fan and your sponsors sure get their value from sponsoring you. Makes me wish I was a younger man with enough time to emulate you.... but alas, I think I will just go play tennis instead.
Small Workshop Guy thank you!
Thanks for the inspiration... I'm working on my enclosure here soon and you helped me with a lot of useful ideas. 👊
Dude you are a legend this is an amazing video and amazing cnc setup I’m blown away and wanna just throw mine out now yours looks so much cooler
Amazing....simply amazing. Great work all around.
Medic51able thank you!
Awesome stuff Blake. I get super excited when you upload because of stuff like this.
Josh Hunter Thanks you!
As a WW hobbyist I don't like CNC machines but I found your video entertaining to watch and like your cabinet design. Thank you for sharing.
Keith Current awesome thank you! They are just another tool in the shop though.
Awesome video ! Great enclosure and great job editing
Sweet project, it is very well made and I love the attention to details such as the work table, lighting, security camera, noise and dust control.
James Rovere Thanks!
Awesome enclosure and really great build with all of it! I love the lighting and the different switches for everything.
Bruce A. Ulrich thank you!
What a great setup!
That cabinet is sweet! I see now where you’ve been! Nice work bro!
Andrew Hayden Esquire Wood Thanks! Yeah sorry for the absence lol.
The Blender face plate... pure genius!
Sean Cowan Thanks!
I could watch this 100 times for inspiration. Give this guy a gold star!
Ron Govoro yes please send me a gold star! Lol thanks!!!
Great video Blake. Looking forward to projects coming from the CNC. Maybe time for an updated shop tour? Your shop is a work of art
fffbti thanks a ton! Yes I’m doing an updated Shop Tour before the holidays.
Love your videos and what you have shown as possible for a one car garage shop. Thanks for the Futurama reference in this video...you've got my sense of humor!
RF Guy thanks a lot!
I’ve been on the fence about buying a cnc for a couple years now. Feel like I’m pretty close to pulling the trigger on a Shapeoko since I don’t have the budget for a larger machine like Axiom. Thanks for the video. Really appreciate the format of your videos
That's the most beautiful and logical CNC machine i have ever seen
Holy S, man, well done! Great attention to detail re the lighting, dust collection, etc.
Jp Toto thanks a lot!
Just found your YT channel the other day. Nice setup and some cool ideas I need to borrow for my setup ;) Great sense of humour and fun channel. Thanks for sharing.
LDSloan thank you!
wow, amazing, this is a great idea for my shapeoko 3 xl, thanks!!
A great CNC Enclosure and a fantastic video! well done.
Joshua Bedford thank you!
This is outstanding! I am planning on building an enclosure for my XXL. I hope it', at least 1/4 as good as yours! Well done man!
Love the enclosure and personalization. Made it that much better.
Thank you!
Subscribed! Enjoyed the video. I made my own cnc and I'm amazed how accurate and precise they are.
I made some cnc tip videos for stuff I had never found elsewhere.
TheRainHarvester awesome thanks for the sub!
Such a good job on the enclosure, and video. Solid!
Worn Standard thank you!
Very nice! I’m building my enclosure now and getting the xxl around the holidays. Great video! Hope you’ll post project videos to come. I may have to borrow the bender trick!
MrKly123 thanks!
this is my dream cnc setup, im just building my custom cnc now, so earli days, but this is the dream, congrats it looks so good and i love the vac solution and the switches
Thank you!
Well this should certainly check off a lot of your must have's for your CNC system. Im excited to see what you do with the CNC over time.
Taylor Hubbell yeah there’s a few more things I could see adding but had to get the video made in this decade.
Great video. Thank you. Alot of great ideas I'm going to incorporate. I think I get everything except wiring the external controls? Is there any info you could provide on how to do that. Thanks again great video.
Very nicely done!
roubaix1962 thank you!
Very cool project and excellent video! Thanks for sharing.
John O'Shaughnessy thank you!
Nicely done
Blake, very cool setup! I admire what you have done with the space you have. Very well thought out and usable. Your videos make me keep looking at the space I have and how I can better use it. A CNC is my next investment in my workshop! Got to find room for it! I got a Creality Ender 3 3d Printer back in December and had so much fun with it, Getting ready to build an enclosure for it for better temp control for printing with different filaments like PETG and ABS. I have made some cool things for the workshop like router templates for doing some inlay work and sanding blocks. All kinds of uses for it just like a CNC machine. Keep it up Blake and looking forward to seeing what comes out of the Weber Workshop next! Yes, I reapply sunscreen often as I am bald and do not like for my head to get sunburned......lol
Johnny Reagan lol awesome! Sounds like you’ve got a cool setup going too. Have fun with all that!
Awesome job man. The vac is a great idea
Giaco Whatever thanks Giaco!
Nice work - well planned and thought out
Thank you!
Blake! Have you thought about releasing plans for your custom enclosure? It wouldn't be a bad new revenue stream for you as I feel this is one of the best designed enclosures for the XXL. Especially considered how big the community is. Just a thought! Love your stuff as always, man!
Absolutely, safety first 😃 Seriously, any and all relevant equipment makers should be rushing to send you theirs! You excel at both installations and usage. I truly appreciate your customized cabinet...I don’t even do woodworking (just a geeky art loving perfectionist), but your channel has me mesmerized by its attention to detail and the gorgeous, aesthetically pleasing results! 🤩 😎
Thank you!
Dude that’s some seriously awesome upgrades. I love my Shapeoko and couldn’t be happier with its performance and all I’ve been able to make with it. I have a large table with 2x4’s sticking out above it where the rest of my cabinet should be. I still want to finish it, but after I got the Suck-It, I lost all motivation. Sound may be the only reason, well maybe lighting. But the sawdust is a non issue.
ManCraftingTM I actually crashed it during of of the very first cuts. The bit ran into the metal base of the machine and sprayed Carbide shrapnel all over the place. And my kids like to stand in front of it and watch while it cuts. Also this was before I had the Suckit. So safety was the first motivation to enclose it (and dust) but I can also tell you with all that insulation it is WAY quieter.
Blake Weber safety. Ok. Three reasons. 😁
Blake, you blow me away, my friend. You are so organized. I love your projects, and all of your videos are top-shelf. ( I can see your talent of photography in all of your work) Do you have a small closet I could come and stay with you and watch you come up with all of this? I can cook, sort of...
Thanks for sharing.
Felix From Nebraska lol thanks man! If I ever need a sort-of cook I’ll let you know!
Beautiful video! Well done! Take my subscribe sir, you've earned it! I look forward to going through your backlog of videos and seeing what you produce in the future! 😁👍
2091AmandaPanda ah thanks!!!
As others have stated already....seriously the coolest thing EVER!!!! Very inspiring! Every detail was well thought out and executed seamlessly (well at least it appears that way lol) Great job and sub EARNED for sure!!!
Richard Spencer awesome thanks!
That is the coolest!!
Dude this is sooooooo cooooolll. I hope with hard and dedication i can make an enclosure just like yours!
B MAC sugar thanks!
When you called the vac attachment " Suck It " I immediately hit the subscribe button ! Great idea adding foam insulation to the cabinet .
Craig Voisin haha Thanks!
This is the most interesting video of Shapeoko. Company put their money in the right place
qualifier one thank you!!!
Great editing
Very slick!
Scott Sroufe thank you!
Ya know....this ain’t even fair. That setup is incredible. I got my CNC (XXL version) a few months ago and I haven’t even opened the box yet. Partly cause I’m not ready yet cause still building up my garage as my workspace, but also cause I’m a little intimidated by putting it together and also learning the programming. I’m curious to your level of knowledge you have/had when you got the CNC. Anyway, all the add-ons are awesome. To say nice work would be an extreme understatement.
Greg D Zero knowledge of CNC before I opened the box.
When I got my XXL I started assembly but got stuck at a step and then ignored it for several months because I was overwhelmed with everything involved. Now I’ve been running it for six months, designing in Fusion 360, and recently started diving into 3D models. You can do it Greg.
I just ordered my XXL this morning (I keep coming back to this video for inspiration on the enclosure).
I have zero experience, but I've been playing around in Carbide Create for the last few days. It's really easy to pick up.
And, from all of the unboxing/assembly videos I've seen, it's really straightforward.
You can do it!
I just picked up a used bob e3...this made me drool a little...
Slick video. Would be nice to see a deeper dive into the cabinet build
Jason thanks! but that’s as deep as I’m going to dive. It’s just a plywood box. Follow me on Instagram and I might do a live Q&A tomorrow or sometime soon.
I haven't watched this video until now because watching CNC videos wasn't relevant at the time. But now I'm very interested in getting the Shapeoko. I really like your mods for the power switches and lighting. The only thing I didn't see was a link for the lights and the tap switch. If I ever get one I'll definitely reach out again here or on IG. Trying to find space in my small workspace (yes, smaller than yours) will be the bigger challenge! Great video and edit
That was awesome!!!!!
Nice video!
Great video... looks sweet!
Adam Spencer Kirkland Thanks!
Can you post a link to your rocker switches that you used to the vacuum, router, etc?
That was a great video and cool setup. I just subscribed. It was kind of sad when the Vivek was coming to an end. Lol. Keep yo the great work man.
VHERSACNC thanks!
Ooh. I like your style. How come I never heard of you before...?
You got a new happy subscriber. 👍
Thorbjørn Refne Thanks! I’m not famous (yet lol)
brilliant and so smart!
Thanks!
you sir have my dream setup.
Hi Blake, amazing video! What would you say the decibel attenuation is after using the rigid foam? thx!
Wow. Great job!!!
Matt MacInnis thank you!
Very informative video. Can you please tell me which brand is the expending hose? Thank you!
Impressively efficient use of space and attention to detail! All with a refreshing sense of humor! I am now an enthusiastic YT subscriber and IG follower! I plan on ordering my Shapeoko XL this Black Friday, and will be copying your enclosure design closely (assuming that's ok). One question (among many to come I imagine): Does your box provide an entry point for air to come into the otherwise sealed container? Say, in the lower area of the back? This seems necessary to keep up the CFMs of the vac. Also, does your vac enclosure have a similar exhaust port? Thanks also for the super high quality videography and production. Makes a big difference!
So sweet. Did anyone else nerd out on this?
Evergreen Cottage I did!
My nipples got hard watching that...
Hi Blake. Love the details you add to your shop. Can you share what desktop computer and how much ram etc you recommend to run your cnc.. Thanks.
Hi Blake, love your videos keep slaying and being great bro 🙏❤️ by chance do you know the measurements on your friend blenders eyes plate.?
nicely done. what was the name of the bit you used to plane down the surface of the waste board? I went to bits and bits website but they didn't have anything that looked like what you have.
This enclosure is epic! Great video editing as well! *Subscribed* Getting ready to pull the trigger on this same model. Do you have any plans/dimensions for the cabinet? I'd like to have something set up to build the shapeoko into on day one? How do you like the layout? Anything you would change?
Great video thanks. What size CNC do you have?
WOW! Shapeoko definitely got their money’s worth out of their contribution to your channel. Awesome video, very cool enclosure. Your videography is fantastic. I’ve got a lot to learn!
Adams LeatherWorks Thank you!
Outstanding!,,,, How did you connect the cnc, drill, and vac to the outlet shown in the video?
Have you done a before and after dB test, would like to know if it made much difference
Great enclosure. Just ordered my CNC and you have some great features. How much did it help with the noise?
How did you wire up the toggle switches to turn on the cnc, router and vac?
Any way you’d post instructions on how you got all that wired up to and around the cnc? I’d love to set something up like this for my shop.
This is awesome 💪👍
Marlon Beissel WoodDesign Thanks!
Really nice build! How much noise reduction does the enclosure provide? Any chance you took db readings? Thanks for sharing!
Nice Video! Where did you get that flexible hose from?
How did you wire up your power switches? Did you just make 3 switch outlets and plugged in the unit?
This is an amazing set up. I have the xcarve. But I look forward to seeing the projects you do in this tricked out enclosure. And.... The other stuff you do in your shop.
This really is the ultimate enclosure.
Thank you!
Dude that’s bad ass
Great build!!! I might want to look into adapting this to my CNC. I'd also like to ask where can I find the files for the Bender face you added to your router/spindle???
It was a sticker
I'm lurking on youtube for ideas on dust enclosures for my CNC. Yours is the best I have seen so far. AND great job on video production - amazing!! I was wondering how tall is your enclosure? I want to make sure I am tall enough to not interfere with dust collection hoses, etc.
Sick. I love the robot reference
Spike Boase thanks ;)
lmfao! bender!!
awesome video. all of your work is beautifully done.
Thank you!
beautiful. Have you noticed if the temp on the shop vac gets too hot in the enclosure? Amazing video and build!
Very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this!!! How did you make the "Blender" stickers? I love how it gives your CNC personality!
The Mortise Mortician found it on Amazon :)
Very well done. Is there an air vent in the enclosure to allow airflow when the vacuum is turned on?
Thanks! Yes there is.
Where did you get the flexible hose from for the cleanup?
Thank you very much
really nice and clean installation ! i presume you could even set up this whole cnc equipment in an operating block without a single bit of dust leaking :)
Maxime Lancry Thanks! Yeah it’s pretty quiet and dust free!
I flossed and wore sunscreen today--thanks for reminding me
Any time.
Very Freaking Cool!
Looking at procuring the PROXXL.
after the time you have had the router would you recommend it again?
Its a VERY different machine these days... the new model has lots of upgrades.
