Michelle explains how Mexicans can spot a gringo from afar.
At Dreaming Spanish, you will learn Spanish the way you learned your native language, namely, through immersion. Simply start watching content at a level that is comprehensible to you, and gradually work your way towards more and more advanced videos.
As researchers like Dr. Stephen Krashen have shown over the past 40+ years, receiving comprehensible input, that is, messages that you can understand in the target language, is what actually results in language acquisition.
By listening to our stories, cultural expositions, conversations and games, you will get used to real Spanish as it's used in context, and develop a native-like intuition for the grammar and the vocabulary, together with a clear pronunciation.
Experience the language. Become the language.

This video is excellent comprehensible input. The repetition of phrases and words is perfect. The speed of the speech is just right for super beginner. I’m at beginner/Intermediate and still find it helpful!! Thank you Michelle and Dreaming Spanish for such great learning material. More just like this please. Love it!!
This is fantastic. So glad I stumbled upon this channel whilst trying to find exposure to Spanish as a new learner. The speed, illustrations and expressions are so helpful. Absolutely love this, thank you 🎉
Much to my kids embarrassment, I wear socks with my sandals 😂 (soy un super-gringo)
My stereotypes of people in Mexico are that family and community are very important to them. The men are hard working, silent types and the women are extremely loyal if you can win them over.
Don't be embarrassed, it's super comfy 😊
Michelle is hilarious - love her expressions and body language in all of her videos 😄
That’s very similar to how we spot people from Germany in Italy😁
Just started watching these videos. Brushing up on my Spanish. Gringo here and this was hilarious! I have traveled all over Mexico....I love Oaxaca! La Comida es muy buena! Keep up the good content!
Cinco de mayo is in Puebla. I was there this year and they had a big celebration en el centro.
Love this teacher, she's super understandable and seems sweet. Why do people wear socks with sandals! I can't stand it - signed an American.
it's comfortable
It’s an old person habit!! I don’t wear sandals even though I am old! I would rather break the mold of the old folks homeboys!
thanks michelle your way of teaching is amazing!
I would like to see more videos with you.
Entiendo mucho. Gracias para la información.
That was quite amusing and educational! Thanks!
Super helpful!
The gringos you described are just the stereotypical “Dads” of USA 😂
I have the biggest crush on her… Ella es mi favorita
Excellent video.. I am an Indian living in USA but I agree with everything you said ..lol.. this video had me laughing so hard !! Muchas gracias !!!
the shade towards gringos. 😭
Lol. As I’m watching this video, I am wearing my socks with my Addidas slides on (flip flops without the big toe stop). 😂😂🇲🇽🇲🇽great video.
Jajaja! Jajajaja. 😅
Look. I’m sure the guy at the end of the video is super nice. But when you are leaned in close and watching intently y entonces BOOM…. aparece su cara. Da mucho miedo! 😂😂😂
When I saw this video, I knew I had to see it. I live in the United States. This video was hilarious.
This is one of my favorites, I have travel to Ixtapa México y soy de Alberta Canadá hablo un poquíto la lengua del español es trabajo en progreso, me gusta el vídeo Is Spain always Hot? y Spanish en las Filipinas...amongst others también, hasta luego y cuídate ahora yo hablo Spanglish ja ha ja.
A burn and in simple terms. I'm in awe lol super impressed
This video was funny and easy to understand. I would just say not all don't equate American to "white" (skin burning in the sun).
I’ve heard it’s much better. I will try it next time. 👍🏼
Only the last one true for me. I don't like soda, my teeth are yellow, and I do not want to go to cancun or tourist places, but I do plan on oaxaca! But I do want to learn to talk with natives, that is 💯 true. I know a Mexican here because I can smell there cologne without even seeing them, they have there trucks low to the road, always look so nice, hug and are funny. And can party til morning. 😊
I drank about 6 beers before I watched this video. It is questionable whether I will retain anything.😂
I live in a city that's 21% Mexican so I can always spot by the accent. Also Mexican culture is louder/noisier. Generally everyone is friendly but blunt haha.
You guys really should add closed captioning in Spanish, CZcams is horrible at it, and it's nice to see how a word is spelled as I hear it, but maybe it doesn't go very well with the whole dreaming Spanish course
Pablo has discovered some great talent.
Some of his youtubers have started their own youtube channels, that have closed captions in the videos.
One of my favorite videos is Spanish After Hours,
ESPAÑOL PARA PRINCIPIANTES: BROWNIE DE 5 MINUTOS Mi Regalo Para Ti // APRENDE ESPAÑOL PARA PRINCIPIANTES, Español Fácil
@@JimOser thanks for the channel recommendation!
My favorite Dreaming Spanish video has only the automatically generated Spanish subtitles, but you probably can understand it without subtitles.
The library donkey - Superbeginner Spanish - Real Stories #9
The idea is to connect the sound of the word to an image, feeling, or experience and not to letters. That said, I like to see a word spelled occasionally too, but the auto subs work well enough for me.
@@KristinaQuiere well I get connecting the world to a sound an image, but some of us will watch the video enough time to get the images and ideas down and then want to learn the perfect spelling to see if it matches how we think it'll be spelled
So all of those from the United States look alike and can literally blind you by smiling. 🤣
Damn, she is pretty.
Well that was racist and obnoxious.
this isn’t even racist omg
It's just comedy. You sure are fun at parties aren't you
No it is not even close to being racist.
You can always spot the American bc she’s the one who’s so sheltered and easily offended she thinks that tourists are an oppressed people and that gently poking fun at them is a hate crime
It's not anymore racist than the cracker/beaner nicknames. My friends and I used them growing up and it was seen as joking around.
As long as the person saying gringo can take what they dish out, I don't see it as an issue.
hahah very awesome video :)
