Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

If you get a response to your comment saying you've won something ITS NOT ME, ITS A SCAM! Report those comments PLEASE!!!
Will do, sir.
I guess I was never meant to receive any money from that African Prince.... I hope I can get my job back.... Lots of middle fingers and confused faces when I walked out
@@workinprogress5936 lol
@@workinprogress5936 😂😂
I think he gone!!!! The scammer that is.
Zack “Thunder! You guys still like that” The rest of his Fanbase, YES it’s literally farming ASMR!!
Country?
@@hockey161616 lol I changed it too farming idk why I put country
We have one at work, every time I see it I have to whisper it.
I couldn't have said it any better!
He didn't let us down.
When he mentioned it midway through the video I was disappointed in his mention of it. But Zack made it happen.
The fact that your Dad opened that corn bag while wearing those floppy OG yellow farm gloves shows he is the real deal. Pure skill to pull that thread with gloves on.
I’ve been waiting to hear that beautiful phrase ever since the last video it was included in.
Hope your planting continues well!
“Thunderrrrrr….”
Zach, we are always glad when you have a "boring" day! Your content is still fun to watch!
Yeah it means he had a day where nothing went wrong for a change!
I agree. I do too!
Agreed
Zach - You are probably the best one handed farmer in Minnesota. That's what she said.
Glad to see you are making progress with spring planting and thanks for all the videos.
thats what she said hahahahaha
I don't know why.....but the "Thunder" things never gets old.....lol
5:54 - when your dad drops the bag instead of handing them to Jim - Jim's face...
My wife likes the "thunder...."
And a good planting day is not boring.
Keep up the good content. All the best for the rest of the season.
My Dad was a Milkman/arable farmer in the 1970s, when he came out of the Army, we live in the UK, it was a brilliant start in life for me, I so enjoyed it. Watching people farm today gives me so much enjoyment.
"Thunderrrr". It's practically your trademark and yes we still love it. Congrats on a boring day.
If there's anything left of the Great,Great,Great grandparents place it'd be really cool to see it.
In the days of everyone moving all the time and families being spread out over the country and the world it's really nice you're working the same fields they did.
I'd give a lot to have that in my life.
I like that idea
I wish there was something left. Unfortunately, Dad cleaned it all up and removed it about 25 years ago
@@MillennialFarmer It's the cycle of life - at least my great-grandparents' house from the late 1800s still stands, but it has a shake roof in a wet climate and my aunt who owns it now is going to let it rot into the ground, so I take pictures of it every time there aren't tenants living there just to document it. The barn and most of the outbuildings are already gone.
@@MillennialFarmer i was told once at a seed meeting, that you should plant less population of beans on your good ground and more on your poor ground. I guess the thought is to increase competition on the poor ground and get taller more bushy beans...? Sounds kinda backwards, not?
@@MillennialFarmer Do you know from which part of Sweden they came from?
A tip for twine, weeds and tall grass wrapping. Get a Stanley utility knife and get the carpet blades for it. They have a hook with the sharp edge on the inside of the hook. I grind down the sharp point a touch so not to dig into seals. Then go to town on it and slash and pull. It cuts through AND pulls the stuff loose. Works on tillage, mowers, cultivators, etc.
To a floor guy, carpet blades are entirely different, thin and scary sharp ones, the ones you mention are hook blades, and after your comment I'll keep a knife with hook blades, for weed eater though,
I don't have a farm 😫😫🎻
I agree with 1976, as a cleaner and repairer of carpet, it sounds more like a vinyl installer blade that you are speaking of.
I love it when it’s a simple planting day, even though I’m in Nevada I get stressed out when I watch your videos and things aren’t going your way.
Start passing this channel around to all your friends and family. Anna is getting very close to an on camera tractor ride!
"Black oak....that says goodyear on the side" 😂
Got a good laugh out of that as well.
Zach, you're a dork and we love ya for it. Lucky guy with your kid swinging by to ride with his old man. Takes me back.
Your son is going to be a great farmer, he's truly a nice young man👍
To answer your question, I will never get tired of “Thunderrrrrr” lol
like that - 'the good bad and the ugly' seems like a good description of farming
It’s always good to know that your getting closer and closer to the end of the seed planting and get on with something else that needs to be done. I really appreciate your videos 🚜🛺🤠😇🤗🤠
The way your dad and Jim just hop in there and start tossing bags (beeeeggggs) of seed around I think it might be time for a tribute video showing these two old time farmers getting after it! Like you I am a millennial... except I grew up cutting wood, splitting wood and stacking wood! Most of the time I enjoyed it, some of the time it got frustrating and a few times I absolutely hated it! The fact your get to work with your dad every day is something I wish I had!! Keep'er between the rows!!
I appreciate that you're a mellow guy that rolls with the punches. Farming can be tough enough without being pissed off all the time. My dad used to get so mad he'd break stuff venting his anger.
Your first seasonal intro for Thunder was substandard... however.... you killed it on the 2nd try.... great job Zach!
We live in Northern Virginia surrounded by trees, traffic and hills.
Your videos take me back to growing up in Northeast Arkansas and being surrounded by rice and soybean fields. I enjoy your videos.
The clip with all the kids and their MF clothing was heart warming to watch. They was all ever so happy! Keep doing what youre doing Zach!!
To immigrants from Sweden the Minnesota winters were mild, but to me I live on Ga-Fl coast line it’s too cold. I love watching these farm sites because it shows our true backbone people of this great country. When you got into the end result of the great American farmers , food choice that is great that feeds this great Republic. For this I say thanks to all of our great farmers you are our true heroes of the land.
Of course we like "THUNDERRRRRR"! Always saying it in my head when I see that trailer in the distance 😋
Something for you to always remember Zac. NEVER take a suppository and a sleeping pill at the same time.🤣🤣🤣 have a safe planting season !! Keep up the great videos.
It's ok...if you don't get them mixed up!
i like to play russian roulette with farts after eating 6 chili dogs.
Never again 🤣🤣
Love the sunshine.. happy the spring planting is getting done.. you guys set the bar high for the farming industry.. love the laughs and positive attitude even though it is difficult…. Thanks for sharing
Yes!!! We still like it when you say " THUNDER!!!
Just in time for my lunch break. Thanks!
Literally same for me
Dinner time here in the Uk 18.45.
Enjoy your lunch
Glad you got the corn in and the planter isn't giving you problems every other second love your videos
Zach, good to see you are planting! Been a difficult year for farmers. We finally finished planting yesterday in Miami Valley region in OH.
Thunderrr!!!!!! I bet I'm not the only person who was telling Zach to watch his old video right before he watched his old video!
That’s really neat about the ownership of that land👍👍
It was a nice change of pace to see everything go well. Hopefully, it will continue for you.
Zach.... it is never boring with you and your crew! Love watching you all do "stuff"! Glad you are putting in beans! Rocks are disgusting! Nothing worse than getting a rock lodged in somewhere it shouldn't be! Can't wait to see what your next video is all about! Until then ~~~ Stay safe, healthy and happy! 🌽👌
Backing the truck up to the planter with the bags sure brings back a lot of memories.
You have me saying “Thunderrrrrrr “ every time I see one of the Thunder Creek trailers.
When Zack spoke about his family owning the land since way back when, it had me wondering if they have ever had to take troublesome employees to 'The Train Station'?
I see that Trevor. I look forward to another season with the Duntons. Great series.
Not that I'm aware of, however, 110 years ago there was a triple murder (3 farming brothers) right up the road from our farm. A few years later, great great Grandpa swore off one of his sons and left nothing for him in his will. Nobody knows why. It leaves curious kinds wondering..... that's a true story.
My great great grandpa that is. They never caught the murderer. It's still unsolved. Perhaps great great grandpa knew something nobody else did?
@@MillennialFarmer That is interesting for sure. I love the fact your family has been there since the beginning. You can be proud of that. Good luck in all you do.
@@MillennialFarmer only God knows. Read the Bible, you will find why I said that.
Remember this, God knows EVERYTHING.
Thanks for another great video Zach. It was interesting and enjoyable for sure as always.
Congratulations on getting the corn in the ground and now on to soybeans. Ya!!!!!!!
Thunder!!!!’ Do not remember how you started that but seems everyone liked it. The thunder machine is a nice one. Neat.
Great to see Onyx getting in planter time. Good for him.
Great to see all of the family taking part in the operation. Need that to make it all work. Thanks to Jim also. Great group of people.
Another guage wheel for the planter. Must be three or four you have replaced. I assume it is the rocks that bend them.
The bearings on the field digger will need checked on I bet. From what you showed us lots of twine catch up in the bearings on the wheels.
Another farming job to do.
Thanks for the video today. Had lots of variety. Saw everyone also. Neat.
You all take care and be safe.
Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks for everything Zach and family.
The Iowa farm boy.
Steve.
Great video and yep, Thunderrr is still fun to hear.
Yes love THUNDER please don't stop. God Bless one and all.
I'm not the type that enjoys other peoples troubles, so you having a boring day is fine by me. Not saying you shouldn't record your equipment issues because it's great to see how you solve some of your issues. Great video today Zach!
we are planting all soybeans this year down hear in nc because corn is exspensive to do and we have good rotation we have had so many breakdowns on our older planter so ive been planting all by myself and have about 2,000 acres left started at 4,200 . great video love watching
If you don’t mind me asking what part of nc are you in we are over here on the coastal part of nc and we got about 2000 acres of corn and I believe close to 3000+ acres of beans including our dual crop beans after wheat. But with the prices here this year i Understand totally
@@Redneck_scientist_kp_1210 northeast nc
Zach, always say "thunderrrr". That's the whole reason why I watch your CZcams channel. It cracks me up every time. 🤣
The young guy at 4:25 ,well done! That was hilarious 😂😂😂
That was a very impressive shot coming to the field with your equipment.
Love the videos
Thunderrrr phrase is what makes this channel special
Smiles on the faces of three guys and a youngster. No stress in the voice of MFB. That makes smooth enjoyable content.
90k more subs until 1 million then the dogs gets to ride in the tractor😂
Maybe he will make 1 million by harvest. Love to see her in the combine.
Hi Zach. Did you ever try hauling the roller behind the planter? Great video, always entertaining.
That would take a lot of HP.
@@jimlangley840 Where I used to work we had spiked harrows on the front of the planter then of course the planter and then a roller. It worked out really nice for leveling your fields. But we never had planters like yours or rollers like that.
Glad to see soybean planting is going well so far and giving you a break from the drama of corn planting.
I'm probably not the only person that says " Say it say it say it sayyyy itt" when THUNDERRRRRR comes into shot
great showing preflight checks before using the machinery. A lot of guys jump in and take off without even checking the oil.
Everything is less stressful when things go well. Less stress means that you will should live longer.
Been waiting all winter for "Thunderrrr!"
Thunder still makes me chuckle don’t know why but it does
Congratulations on getting all the corn in. I hope to see some beautiful tall corn stalks in those fields by September.
"Thunderrr" is always welcome in the videos
it made me laugh the first few times and I still smile when you say it just like Bryan and POWER LADDER lol
Thanks for sharing your day with us and letting us tag along
I saw the lightning, knew it was coming, and still couldn't help but laugh when I heard the thunder
Thanks for your channel and videos. I have nephews who are grain farmers in Illinois and watching them gives me a better understanding of what they do and their challenges.
the boring days are always the best days, just ask any soldier, farmer, mechanic, and truck driver. But the other days, are character building days, teach you how well you can deal with things going wrong one thing after another.
Watching American Farmers and Ranchers is great, but watching you be you, makes your channel special to many.
I have never seen a boring video on this channel! THUNNNNNDERRRRR
I saw a truck loaded with 3 or 4 thunder creek fuel trailers yesterday. As I passed it i said out loud, “THUNDERRRR”.
I'm glad to see that everything is going so well after such a slow start to the season.
So glad for you are making progress after all the weather issues this year.
DONT STOP THE THUNDERRRRR MAN, it makes me laugh every time
It's pretty funny that they added the extra RRRRRRRRRRRs for you on that trailer.
A boring day for what you all have been through in the past few months is perfectly fine. Just happy that you are finally getting the planting done!
Keep them coming buddy! You and the Larson's have a real operation
Nothing better than watching this guy after work and having a few cold ones.
Congrats on getting corn all done and a good start to planting beans. Good luck catch you on the next video
I'm a farmer from Brazil (Mato Grosso State), this idea you had on putting a basket in front of the machine is really good, but we dont usually have stones here where i plant. Thanks for your content, it is always really nice o watch and learn new stuff from the usa farmers.
Glad you guys are hitting it hard and knocking acres out. Keep up the thunderrrrrrrrr!! God bless you guys zach!!!
Zach, not sure what it is but the THUNDERRRRRRRR always makes my day. Its the little things. We have the same sense of humor....
Happy you had a boring great day!! Loved seeing Onyx and Jim is always fun.
It's never boring on the Millennial Farmer channel🚜👍
Give love at those dandelions, with the grass it matches the john deer
Yep, perfect timing on the lunch break!
5:57... such a brave man
it's never a boring day,! your knowledge is priceless!
As someone who grew up around cattle farming, I wholeheartedly understand the eating after touching dry manure. When I was little my dad and grandpa would take me out in the old international tractor to feed cattle. Great grandpa took me out fairly often to bale hay. Love seeing you have your son out there.
Thunderrrrr. LOL Glad you have the planter sorted this year. Hope it continues.
There is nothing boring about this day. Great vlog.
Most of the time I don’t pay much attention to the you sponsor adds but this time I watched it like three times just to see all those smiling faces with the Millennial farmer merchandise. It actually made me tear up a little lol
Quit talking about me on the show without some royalties! 😂
Love that y’all are still dealing with frost in the ground and we’re 90 degrees all day for the last couple weeks
Hi you two, Please keep up your good work on your uTube channel, A special thank you to Mrs Millennial Farmer for the good work she on the exertion the videos. I wish you all your family and Jim the the week ahead. Lots of Love Ianwood PS: I am not a Farmer put I am fan of your channel. ❤️❤️💋💋🇬🇧🇬🇧
Keep doing what you doing you have good content love watching your shows been watching for 3 years
Yes the sound effect is a must.
In the old days...farmers planted "check" corn, checker board planting pattern using a chain distancing device so they could cultivate both ways. Running a cultivator one of the ways was a back breaker all day rolling over the planted rows.
Zach. I do, and I'm sure a lot of others do also, always say 'Thunder' when you open the door of the thunder trailer.
Yes Zac, I laugh everytime you say "THUNDERRRRRRR". Keep it up.
Zach, with the recent frustrations that you've had, I'm GLAD to see you have a "boring" day! And a video with "THUNDERRRR!" is always a good sign!!! LOLOL
We are almost through planting soybeans here on the coast of NC. Thank you for the video.
