Adding a mailbox to the Silkies house will be so cute and can serve as a place to stash garden hand tools and gloves.
I was thinking stash a bag of mealworms. After all, it IS the Silkie's mailbox, lol!

You need one of doggie machines that shoots out tennis balls. Holly is smart enough to learn how to reload the ball.

I would put the shutter doors so they open up to the nesting boxes and you can easily grab eggs and change out nesting pads without having to always go in there (house). Leave their feed and water in the (taller) run area. It's rather smaller, so it's a Brooke or MC clean chore-type house. Maybe build a pullout floor base for easy cleaning. It will look fabulous in the back garden.

Yes, I was surprised when they said that maybe only 9 of 19 would hatch, but I know NOTHING about these things as I am stuck in a city, haha. I'm hoping for at least 12🥰. I watch because I've love this family and their critters of course. The folks here in the comments are lovely too. Good old Cog Squad😃.

I really like how they talk to their critters by including them in all of their decisions and getting approval from them. They make me love those critters with my whole heart♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

How precious is that future coop! Love the idea with that light! I burst out laughing when Brooke said, "now they need an address". Also about the mailbox, altho it could be an additional feeder, for treats or something!

The coop turned out darling! I think any colored door would be cute, but a pop of color like red or yellow would look great. No matter what, it is adorable......so were the pups playing with their toys. Ya'll be good, be blessed, and stay dry.

I am so thankful you decided to paint the former playhouse to match your beautiful home. Rather than one distracting from the other you will have a classic, seamless look. Although a red door would be predictable I think a beautiful teal or sky blue be more of a classic choice. Of course any color you select would be beautiful. Brooke needs to offer courses re savvy shopping techniques. She's a total pro!
I can’t get over how resourceful Brooke is when she gets on the marketplace website, she finds the most cutest things ever now that little playhouse is gonna be perfect for your little French garden. It’s gonna just be absolutely gorgeous to watch you a building and after a year or two, when all the flowers and everything really get established, that’s gonna blend in so beautifully you’re going to think that you went from a little tiny mansion to the big massive sprawling Ponderosa type home it’s just absolutely gorgeous Brooke Jason Mary Carl. The place is going to be beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I hope you don’t mind me asking but one day I would love to come and visit your place but I will ask in advance and make sure I’m not one of those people that just drop in. The Playhouse coop turned out beautiful! Can I move in? 😆 It's going to look so good next to the protégé garden. All your animals are so lucky to live on Cog Hill 40, they are all loved and are so well taken care of. The ducks are loving the pond and I bet they are loving the rain also. 🥰🥰🥰

You could make a nesting box that sticks out of the window space or it’s a box that is lined up with the windows but is inside and you access the eggs through the shutters? What ever you decide, it’s absolutely adorable!❤ you can store coop cleaning supplies or chicken treats in your mailbox 🎉. I’ve seen folks put up a mailbox in the garden for storing pruners, shovels, trellising materials, gloves. Why not do something similar for the new chicken cottage ❤ I’m excited about seeing it come to fruition ❤
Get a sign to go on front that says “Silkie Salon”. That turned out cute. Do the shutters and doors same as your front door.

Or even a color of some of the flowers in the garden, such as lavender or yellow?????
My opinion: since this is a French garden, and the French love yellow, maybe paint the door and shutters yellow. A pop of extra colour for the garden. Also, love that light for the coup. I can also see a 12 inch wide walk-way, with small rounded rocks leading to the door ! You always come up with such great touches to add to your home. So cute !

I'm jealous! That little chicken house is the cutest thing ever! It's going to be the perfect addition to the potager garden and a great home for your silkie chicks! When my weimaraner was a pup, she'd get her gloomy day energy burned off by retrieving a tennis ball in the stairwell of my house. I'd sit at the top of the stairs and let the ball roll down and she'd run down, get the ball, and run it back up to me. Probably not the safest for your situation until you get your bannister in place, but maybe an idea for later.

The light is the perfect addition to your silky house. Absolutely add a mailbox and leave the door open so hopefully a bird will build a nest or a chicken can use it as a nesting box. I love the creativity! I can't wait to see it finished and looking forward to the stair rail journey!

"#40 Cog Hill Way" Love this Project !
I'm so eggcited about the Silkie coop project. And new baby Silkies. I can't wait!!! I had blue and white Silkies as a teenager. My grandmother that raised me had a really big chicken coop built I'd like to say it was built for me, but idk. She took me to the tractor store and let me pick out 4 baby silkies and told me that the chickens were going to be my responsibility. I couldn't have been happier. So that's why I say the coop was built for me.
Those 4 babies turned into a bunch more Silkies, and those Silkies started to lay eggs of their own. I had one special little baby that needed extra care, so he lived in a tote in my closet until he was bigger. I still didn't want the baby to go outside, so my grandmother found an adequate size cage to keep Peep Peep in my room. I had hopes it was a girl, and said it was a girl until I was laying in bed one morning and Peep Peep started crowing. I knew it was time for him to go out to the coop. I was so sad. My baby cousin even tried to "give him a bath" when I wasn't looking and almost drowned the poor thing when he was just a little Peep Peep.I used that as an excuse to keep him inside longer. I miss my chickens.
