Alright at this point I'm subbing. Been watching all your guides. Only guy to actual make good videos with math backing it up. Keep it up dude you'll grow
Definitely the most consistent, well-spoken (so many vids and even text posts on optimization are just incoherent, rambling messes), and IMO trustworthy (since he actually shows tests to back things up) hoi4 channel I've seen.
In my experience, double agent offsets your detection chance massively, regardless of the country you put them into. I had a level 1 spy double agent from Spain that I put into the soviets, and he was never caught. Yet, my seducers and my soviet nationality guys were eventually caught.
Skill levels: new spies are "Recruits". I've seen spies advance their skill level, but it seems *really* slow, to the degree that I suspect it's bugged.
Yeah, seen that only when I was cheating to get faster missions, after they made like 20 or so missions, crazy stupid. Do you know whether the increased level actually does something and what?
It's capped at level two as well. They get some bonuses but I don't know if they actually work.
It takes ages 🙄
Actually, the upgrades to get a second operative don't have to be in different branch upgrades, as an example, you could do 3 in Passive Defense and 2 in Anti Partisan and you'll get your second operative just fine.
I know this because I just tested it in game. :D
Huh, they must have finally fixed it. I have definitely had 4 in passive defense plus 3 of the four on top and not gotten the spy before. Although I haven't checked since prior to NSB.
Yup, I can confirm this works now
16:00, im pretty sure if you untick "commence when ready" you can delay the war. I've made this mistake twice; I almost always tick "commence when ready" when I can but for coodinated strike, you can hold off the operation until you are ready.
China can force Japan into a non-aggression pact by using a combination of diplomatic pressure and improving relations. It’s pretty funny.
you made me wanna try it lol
This is an extremely productive video, honestly all your videos are, I hope you keep growing in popularity.
Best wishes!
Commando training also causes most operations to grant xp towards the commando trait, so that's nice.
For the spy assignment to reduce stability in a country, is that a permanent debuff or does it go away? I can see over time that you can have your agents just sit on stability reduction and eventually bring a country to its knees. Thanks for the great content by-the-way.
Temporary, but it only goes down when nobody is doing it, and recovers slowly over time. The total benefit for doing it to Germany on day one until the scheduled attack on France is only about 4 or 5 infantry and one tank regiment, as well as about 100 planes. Not a huge loss simply because they do not have a ton of factories and start with high stab. A coop vs ai game can see the damage closer to 10 infantry and 3 tanks, and close to 300 planes lost. You are almost always better off rushing a series of coup attempts unless you are trying to capitulate someone.
U should have way more veiws !! Thank you for all your guides. So helpful
subbed and liked. your videos are awesome.
Thank you this explains things clearly.
commando training does work. i modded the game so that you can get commando by doing 2 operations; with this researched, my spies can get commando with ONE operation
idk why but operators with seducer perk in my game ALWAYS the one that get caught first, even when I use them in country with no spy network like butan, and they still get caught
I guess they seduced the wrong person.
survivor bias. i've done the test countless times already and seducer DEFINITELY works as intended.
I don't know what kind of test you have done, but in practical, at least my game, seducer and escape artist always get caught, more than any other operators

@72Cloak is there a way to refresh the Agent Recruitment options? Does waiting reroll your options etc. ? If so how long, if not are there other ways?
Plastic explosive and certain agents get a bonus. Great if you know you're not going to initially win
Question: If there any possibility to increase the trade from countries with me? With free trade many resources from me are unused and I need more civs😉😉😉. I think foreign opinion is the meta, isn’t it?
Question: how does skill level for spies work and what's a good way to level up spies quickly?
Honestly they level up so slowly I don't even care about levels. It does improve their effectiveness though. You should see increased spy network growth for one, iirc.
@@71Cloak Alright, thanks! I've always wondered why they stay as recruits so long when La Resistance is supposed to be about the brilliant spies of WW2.
It's a shame that stealing blueprints doesn't get around havi g to negotiate for licences. It would've been cool if you could just steal the blueprint for say the Halifax bomber, spitfire or a panzer variant to produce yourself
Could someone explain me how to get new spies by allies? This part was so fast. So for every two members I will get a spy? So for example as Germany I got Italy, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria as allies. So two additional spies or? Cause in my game it wasn't like this 🤔
how do i get that +15% intelligence bonus in combat?
Any idea why i dont have a Agency tab? I have all the DLC except visual/audio ones. Its just, gone.
Is your La Resistance Dlc turned on. It might have gotten turned off in the launcher.
@@71Cloak Exactly what happened. Embarrassing lol
Does civs needed to get things permanently make those civs go away or do you get them back once built?
You get them back.
Thank you comrade
I've built the intel network to 100% and I've infiltrated civilian and military. My civilian intel is at 100%, however my military intel is only at 77.5% and it's not increasing. How can I get it past 80%?
What about stealing civilian tech? I seem to get a research bonus insted of the actual research while doing steal civilian blue prints.
Also, if we are Non aligned, facist or communist, but our faction leader is democratic can we still not do collaboration government, does it go both ways?
Civilian tech only ever seems to give a massive research bonus, never the actual tech. The tooltip suggests that you can get the actual tech but having done it a couple of times it doesn't seem possible.
Faction leader restriction does still apply to spy agencies unfortunately.
@@71Cloak As Hungary, I always get Excavation 1 or 2 from Romania. Happened this morning with all DLC installed and no mods.
You can steal civilian tech, but majority of time you are "overresearched" as players usually rush industry. And if UK has concentrated industry and you have dispersed you will get bonuses, bc previously you could have gotten both industries, but it has been patched. I haven't done testing, but I assume if germany rushed dispersed IV and you also use dispersed industry you can steal further techs. Sadly, but AI never rushes these techs, so it will happen only in MP.
@@71Cloak I get excavation techs, fuel refining, and synthetic refining techs fairly frequently. If you play Germany though you're not going to get the synthetic or fuel refining techs because you'll pretty much always be on par or ahead of your targets for those techs. I also occasionally get the first or second electronic fire control techs because I skip those and just get the last one.
@@71Cloak civilian tech gives civilian tech frequently, but usually it’s excavation or refining so the research bonus is better
Stealing blueprints could get you double industry techs which is super op
Key word I believe is Could. I'm 99% certain it has been patched.
@@71Cloak Its not concentrated and dispersed it is a industrial tech with double of its effect e.g. a concentrated with 30% factory output
@@darkphoenix2745 you just need the target having the tech to do it
@@71Cloak I just tested the exploit and I thought it still worked because I have played kaiserreich too much lately and for some reason it still works in the mod but apparently in vanilla it is fixed
I have no Eye icon on the menu. W takes me to Research. ok i found out i need a DLC. to bad you didn't mention that.
Could you elaborate what you mean at 1:10?
That's just how many operative your other faction members contribute when you are spy master.
i dont have the agency icon what should i do?
buy the dlc
I've increased the amount of intelligence I have. But my IQ test still tells me I'm mentally retarded. what am I doing wrong?
But, to be serious, thanks for the vid.
What’s a good combat width to use
10 width.
25 is based
depends on the terrain youre fighting in, 10 or 15 is good multipurpose, otherwise do an exact multiple of the terrain width thats most common (30 for plains and desert, 21 for forest, 20 for hills etc)
Personally I like 15 (6-1) with support arty, rocket arty, aa, engineer and field hospital (superior firepower). What is best depends on multiple things like terrain, template type, purpose of the template, length of the frontline and available supply. I used these 15 width in my WC run as a general purpose unit (great for defending and some attackin capabilities).
@@firemochimc 27 seam best if you want smaller one otherwise 42 , how org and HP works is smaller divisions get bigger loses so you dont want to listen to folk and use 10w , also the smaller the division the more quipment you use for support companies , 27 and 42 work good in most terrains and suffer the least penalties
how cordination also works makes smaller divisions deal less damage then same equivalent of bigger. so smaller divisions are "alweys" worse technicaly
spies are such a bad mechanic and underwhelmed
the intelligence agency does not exist for me
You need the la resistance dlc.
Spying is super lame in all 4x games
artillery confuses me. it has 0 org and occupies 3 combat width.it isn't cheap and doesn't add anything to a division. i don't get it. i wait for a video which you show the most cost efficents soft attack battalions, most soft attack/combat with battalions etc. somebody did a similiar video 2-3 years ago but i can't find it anymore.
Um no, that’s completely wrong. You lose org (the more support companies you have, the less you lose), lose .01 recovery rate, get minor terrain buffs and debuffs, gain some hp, def, lots of SA, HA, supply use, weight, negligible piercing, and some breakthrough.
Did you not hover over the artillery icon in the template designer to see what it does?
A solid template is 9-1 with shovels and aa, maybe some armored recon for piercing and armor. This is for holding and limited attacking under CAS.
An infantry attack template would be 30 combat width 9-4s. Same support companies except definitely have the armored reconnaissance. The piercing will help against any armored units and the armor will ensure your attack infantry don’t get deorged too fast by regular infantry.
On a budget, 15 width 6-1s work as well for holding, though their lower hp means they lose more equipment than a larger division
Well im confused by you somehow missing the big soft attack increase.
the meta has changed completely in NSB, so old guides are not at all useful now. just remember that artillery adds soft attack at the expense of combat width and org (and production).
I've found for every 3 inf an arty pairs well. 9 3s or 12 4s if you have the industry
@@Luke-je1px Do support companies reduce the org loss? I thought support also reduce org?
95% of my plays I never create agency, waste of time... haha
I agree. I watched this video to see if I was missing something. He makes it seem like all this stuff is useful, but it really isn't worth all the time.
