I just bought an Audio Control Righter Scale Series III today and I cannot believe the improvement it has made to my high end system.Conrad Johnson MV-55 tube amp, Krell KAV-P250 preamp, Martin Logan Montis and JBL L112 speakers. Grab one if you can. It's money well spent!
Desperate to find a compatible microphone for the Richter Scale. Not sure if they used different ones for each series. All I can gather so far is that it's a phantom power mic, which means it gets its power through the audio cable which is why the manual warns you about possible damage to any other mics. I have a couple of Behringer calibration mics, but am scared to try them. I guess I could start by measuring how much DC is coming from the RS first. At least that way I'll know I won't fry my mics. ;)
This video was made when I was selling the unit. I believe I have a schematic but it may only be for the EQ assembly. I can check to see if that would be helpful for finding out what an appropriate load would be.
@@VanillaNesQuik Hey, Ethan! Thanks for replying! :) I found out that the phantom voltage is 15v, which is the minimum required for the Behringer ECM8000 mic I have that came with my Velodyne SMS-1 subwoofer equalizer. I'm pretty confident that it will work. At the very least I don't think my series 1 Richter Scale will fry it. ;) it might be a while, but if I ever get around to trying it out I'll swing by and post my results. It's for a future weird project I'm working (one of several that I find myself doing from time to time) on so it might be a while, though. At least it will be something that future cyber travellers might find useful. But in the meantime, hey, any information you can provide can certainly be helpful and most welcome! :)
Hey- does this link work for you? smallpdf.com/shared#st=860d54b8-20a1-412d-acc7-1f0265142eff&fn=Richter+Scale+Schematic.pdf&ct=1592408846689&tl=share-document&rf=link Some of the text is washed out from age. The microphone input is at the bottom right section.
