I have the 10" Dobsonian XTi and an ED80 refractor on a Sirius mount. Great scopes. Sad to hear about Orion's demise. Thanks Ken and all the good folks at Orion.
I have the Skywatcher branded version of this telescope - thanks for the easy to understand explanation of how to set the polar alignment, very helpful.
These 90mm refractors at f10 and others are the very best value on the planet easy Martian detail anywhere near opposition...an eq 2 motor drive can track in RA for you once polar aligned for high power orion 6mm expanse or clone great in this.
I have been eyeing this scope, but was wondering if this scope is good for both planets and deep space viewing. Also, what reflector scope you recommend for good closeup viewing of planets and deep space viewing (Little bit better than AstroView 90mm under $1K)? If I want to add Orion Shorty 1.25" 2x Barlow Lens (#8711), how much extra would that be? Thanks.
I’m wondering the exact same thing. I just ordered this a few days ago. I’m wondering if this telescope can use a smart phone connector which I ordered as well…
We have this telescope and followed your helpful videos to set it up. However, we cannot get a clear image, especially during the daytime, which is our preference. We did get the angle-correcting lens so we could have a straight daytime image. But with that lens, or either of the others, the image is blurry, as if the light is being broken up inside the scope itself. Do you have any suggestions?
Hi Tammy. If you're using binoculars, the image won't be upside down and you can use it any time. They work great! But if you're using a telescope like this AstroView 90mm, the image will be inverted so you can use a correct-image diagonal to correct the image for day time viewing. You can find this diagonal on our website here: bit.ly/2n37fci
I just bought a 120 like this, and I’m very happy with it!

I ♥️ your videos Ken. I just ordered this and have never used a telescope before.

Can this battery pack be adapted to use 18650LI-ion battery packs?

What about a sun filter? Can it be used on this and can one see sun spots? What kind and how much would it cost?

How do I use the binoculars during the day if the all of the images are upside?
