"Not used to seeing California Beach front with no people" .....yes!!! I laughed at this because you are SO correct 🤣. I bicycled through this area not quite two years ago. My favorite sunset was my night on the Salton Sea. Seeing the Salton Sea was a bucket list item of mine. There was a cussing man taking off his clothes that walked up to the water's edge and then left. Otherwise I felt like I had that entire Salton Sea space and view and moment in time. I spent the night with no problems before cycling to Saab City the next day.

Hey there Pirate! Thank you for stopping by here and sharing. I appreciate that more than you know. You truly got where I was coming from in this video. I really do enjoy the Salton Sea and simply choose to ignore the distraction of the smell and it turns into my very own private beach…just as you experienced. If you choose peace and freedom it can be achieved. I can take mind over matter to a whole new level if I have to to improve my moment…if that makes any sense. Lol, don’t get me started cause I can go on forever. If you enjoyed Slab City, you might like my video exploring Salvation Mountain. czcams.com/video/B1b7r-mxBPY/video.html I hope you subscribe and stick around for future adventures of mine since we seem to have some things in common. I have my next video uploaded now and is finishing up its processing as I type this, with 80 minutes to go until it launches because it’s 4k and a little longer that usual, but you might enjoy it. Thanks again for saying hi. Safe travels.👍🏼😎

This area is already getting more interest due to its lithium resources. The world is heading towards EV and lithium batteries. There’s enough lithium resources there to provide the entire US + export. Geothermal energy is prevalent here as well. It’s enough to provide plenty of power to grow the population to 10x. we will see a lot of positive growth in the next five years here. There’s already solar and wind farms in this area. This area will be the worlds hub for green, renewable energy.

With all the rain, snow and floods Califonia is dealing with I don't understand how California or Californians have not found a way to utilize one of their greatest natural resources thay already possess, the Salton Sea. THE Salton Sea is 100 meters bigger than Lake Mead and back in the 1960's it was used the same way Lake Mead is used today.
A large recreational area that also supports wildlife. Californians have debated on whether to use desalinated Ocean water to fill the Salton Sea but why haven't they found a way to diverge some rivers and reservoirs toward the Salton Sea?
They have found ways to create concrete basins that carry Colorado river water to Farms, so why can't they build a system of pumps and canals to channel reservoir and flood water to the Salton sea?

@@rickgriffith1 there's some cheap land around there and it's easier to build in imperial county. It's such a beautiful uncrowded place, some people must get used to the smell. I worked around oil and gas wells with a lot of H2S, after a while u don't notice it.

@@embededfabrication4482 I didn’t even know there was an airport at Salton Sea. When I did my Patton Museum video czcams.com/video/mexraaLv92M/video.htmlsi=O1MTe_Q-te_x4m_y I did notice an air strip in Chirriaco, at Chiriaco Summit Airport-L77. The roads getting to the Salton Sea airport look brutal from Google maps. I learned a lot about the roads out there the hard way in my Salvation Mountain video czcams.com/video/B1b7r-mxBPY/video.htmlsi=SUq96g_J_sW5WEzP. The suspension on my trike is very unforgiving on the rider on roads like that and I take a pretty hard beating in certain circumstances. Being disabled, I’m always looking out for that now so I can’t make any promises on getting to that location. I hope you enjoy RV videos. I’m currently working on footage I captured at a The Great American RV Roadshow that I spent a couple of days at over the past week. I’m hoping to get a video or two out about that RV show in the next week or so depending on work schedule. Thank you for stopping back by. Safe travels.👍🏼😎

Hi Susan. I can only imagine the heartbreak that people with a personal history and attachment with Salton Sea must feel seeing it in its current state. As someone with no prior experience with the area I found it to still be beautiful and intriguing, albeit very offensive to the olfactory senses. Thank you so much for stopping by and watching and commenting. Take care.👍🏼😎

Used to go there as a kid.
Late 60s early 70s. It was amazing. Floated like a cork in the water. Fishing was amazing. Boating.
The heat was really bad. But. I loved it.
Now? It’s a post apocalyptic landscape.
Gonna get back there one day. I hope.

@@rickgriffith1 thanks Rick. We were at the Salton Sea yesterday. It has a fascinating and tragic history. Nice job on the video. We went beyond the Salton Sea to the Anza-Borrego State Park in search of the huge sculptures rising out of the sand, and wildflowers. The sculptures were very cool! Unfortunately, we only saw patches of wildflowers. I really wanted to see the orange poppy fields that I’d read about and seen pictures of. Oh well. Looking forward to seeing your other videos!
