  • Gorillas, also known under the source code's file name Gorilla.Bas, is a video game first distributed with MS-DOS 5 and published in 1991 by IBM corporation.[1] It is a turn-based artillery game.[2] With allusions to King Kong, the game consists of two gorillas throwing explosive bananas at each other above a city skyline. The players can adjust the angle and velocity of each throw, as well as the gravitational pull of the planet. Written in QBasic, it is one of the programs included as a demonstration of that programming language.

First game i EVER PLAYED with my wife/kids back in the day... on a "Tandy 1000 386SX". (Radio Shack proprietary crap)... (learned my lesson)... It had a whopping 1MB RAM and i paid DEARLY for a 250mb hard drive upgrade and also upgraded the ram to 4MB eventually... it wasn't CHEAP! I used that machine for WORK!!! (not just games)... It was however able to accept an ISA-CARD 56k modem which was BLEEDING EDGE technology back in the day and ran a BBS. I learned QBASIC and DOS on that old beast. This brings back some serious memories! Thank you for posting!

I used to play this with my dad when I was a kid. The memory is tattooed in my brain.

Damn. I just randomly thought about this game and can believe there’s a video on it. Nostalgic!
