When moving to already visited locations, you have the option to spend 1 hour on the clock to move to any location. It's an important part of the rules to minimize randomness.
The game play is very different but the feel and difficulty level of the game is similar. In Outfoxed the clues are very clear - either a suspect is wearing a scarf or they aren’t. In Detective Charlie the clues are often a bit more subtle and require some memory based on what was said on a different clue card. Nothing too tricky in general, although it gradually gets more difficult as you progress through the scenarios. The biggest difference is that Outfoxed can be played over and over again and Detective Charlie has 6 scenarios with a specific culprit at the end of each one so once you’ve solved it you can’t play it again. That said, my kids went wild over this game and we played it independently with my daughter and then again with my sons so I felt like we got good use out of it.
