As sick as it might seem, I sort of side with Rick on this one. Because Rick is an alien he has no means of actually _compensating_ these people that would be of any real value to them - apart from sharing knowledge of advanced technology with them; which he _did_ by introducing them to Electricity and Technology to begin with. In their society, they don't just labor to produce electricity for the fun of it; they actually are being paid by each other to do this work; they have a functioning economy and live their own lives. Heck, I see it more as Rick's share of the energy being his compensation for bringing them this technology in the first place. As long as they remain blissfully unaware of how insignificant their universe is and their role in it, no harm, no foul.

This is proof of how asinine Rick's behavior can be. He gets down on Morty for having emotions but he could have easily built a better source but created a world of subordinates for himself simply because he likes how it feels. Rick is such a hypocrite and Morty is right to question him.
Rick can scan probabilities to find universes that fit his exact criteria and can create super intelligent ai in less then an hour which in the same day built a mega structure encasing the earth without Rick noticing.
There zero reason Rick couldn’t automate a team of robots that travel to the infinity of resources rich and life devoid dimensions to collect, farm, and process every conceivable material he could ever wish for and then use the same dimensions to dump his trash where it can’t hurt anyone.
That pretty much encapsulates Rick as a person. He chooses to make thing harder on himself just so he can assert his superiority over everyone and then beat down anyone who criticizes him as being an idiot when more often then not he’s being called out for the problems he created and could of easily avoided
Everything Rick dose is an acid vat
Seems like slavery with extra steps.
- Rick and Morty
0:56 To skip the extra steps before that!
The coven system: *exists*
Eda: That just sounds like genocide with extra steps.
sounds like playing better with extra steps
Rick allows them to exist and they just have to work and pay the energy tax, or else.
It didn't dawn on me how leftist this segment was until very recently....
Welcome to the real work fella
Im sure we all can relate, debt slaves fellas ...
Hey, may I ask how are you able to post a video on a rick and Morty clip? I just recently posted a rick and Morty sub-story and got this "This video contains content from Turner EST, who has blocked it on copyright grounds." Please help me out id really appreciate it!
Selective Service in a nutshell.
Do slaves frequently get handed guns and trained to use them?
@@DickBanton The gun is just one of the extra steps.
I love the definition of God
How did this get adds and not me
I feel like everyone saying "use the stars" forget exactly how unstable those things are. Like sure it probably has more energy but there's also more clean up when that thing breaks unlike here. He literally went to say "dudes what the fck" and then found out who the fck.
Rick couldn't just look for a star to form and use it to power his car because he needed to make commentary about society. KEKW.
I can feel my Brian growing while watching this!
Brian? Who is it?
When I was tripping balls last night this explained everything I felt 😂
You should have showed the parts where Rick is telling the scientist the same thing and what happened when they were developing another world.
Thats what it feels like to feel different
0:45 🤣
the moment where rick was wrong
It just sounds like slavery with extra steps.
The Rick & Morty episode of the matrix essentially.. 😂

I don’t think it’s “Slavery” if their getting paid
Yes, it’s not Slavery...
It’s Slavery 2.0
@@jerrygreenest Not if they’re not forced
@@danitron4096 Hey they can stop anytime but at the risk of losing their electricity. So they are pressured to do it.
100%
This makes me sad about the real world
