Top 10 world highest buildings in history are:
10. Metropolitan Life Tower.
Tallest building on the planet for 3 years.
9. Woolworth Building.
Constructed which costs 13.5 USD (1913 value). Manages to hold record for 17 years.
8. bank of Manhattan Trust Building.
Now known as The Trump Building. Only crowned title for a month.
7. The Chrysler Building
Until today still the world's tallest brick building albeit with an internal steel skeleton.

The Sears Tower/Willis Tower is still to me the most beautiful building I've ever seen. All of them are beautiful and unique in their own way. I guess because I was born and raised in Chicago. But it's just a beautiful architectural wonder to me.🗽🗼

E8, How did you get the 3D of Taipei 101. I have google earth but no 3D of Taiwan and Shanghai.
3D of Taipei 101 should be available in Google Earth Pro with internet connection. Some towers like Shanghai Tower and Guangzhou CTF need to be downloaded from 3dwarehouse.sketchup.com and load it into google earth.

Well, that's were skyscrappers oroginiated from. Americans pioneered the skyscrappers, they were birthed there. Most of these tall buildings in Asia nowadays are the work of American architects as well. Now the prestige of places like New York or Chicago is not in a world record or something, but the nostalgia that these places have. I once read an article about the Empire State Building that said "even in 1972 when its height was surpassed, the prestige still remaind, because there are plenty of taller buildings in the world right now, but none as beautiful." I couldn't agree more!

Guys let me tell you something, the Trade Centres were the real tallest but it got attaked and then it collapsed but the good news is that the Second World Trade Centre collapsed first so the people in new york still got their last momments of seeing the tallest twin tower standing 😒😒😒😒😒and that's why engineering8 didn't put the World Trade Centres onto the map.
But still that tower is not that beautiful....

Can someone told me why nobody count antena in Willis tower but count on tower like Petronas Twin,Burj Khalifa,Taiper 101...Willis need be tall 527m
The Willis tower has an antenna and the Petronas towers have a spire. They are the same thing but spires have no use they are just for looks. Antennas help with internet and like tv signals. The official way to measure buildings is counting the spire only so the Petronas towers are bigger but it is dumb because if the Willis tower had a spire it would be taller by roof height and spire height and it already does but it is an “antenna”

HYPER RAT MAPPING yeah it’s because typically the antennas are added on later and weren’t intended by the architect. I understand why some people would count only the roof height or highest usable floor but counting spires and not antennas is absurd. It can look so confusing because in videos where the buildings are side by side you first think the Willis tower is taller than compare roof heights and realize it’s still taller. The Petronas should have never been the tallest in the world

These new skyscrapers are a complete joke.... These builders get lazy and put 500 foot + spires on top to make the building look taller then it actually is.... New York City's new Trade Center would still be the second tallest if they didn't count those 400 foot spires on top. It would be 1 foott smaller then the Willis tower in Chicago. Chicago is the only city in the world with actual modern looking skyscrapers that aren't lazy. Chicago's up coming skyscrapers which are over 20 being built now, don't have any spires on them maybe some lighting rods that don't count. Chicago founded the skyscraper and always will be the only city in the world with the best skyscrapers.
