    This is a great sounding bedroom rig. A couple of powered studio monitors and it would sound better than any real amp you could run in a small space. Certainly a hell of a value when you compare it to the price of say a really good OD or reverb.

The question I would like answered to can the MG-30 be programmed so that either effects can be toggled on/off on the fly and secondly, could any of the footswitches be assigned to two presets or patches that are NOT numerically listed in the bank? (ex. you want factory preset #10 to play rhythm in a song but you want to switch to custom patch xyz to play a solo in the middle and also want to revert back to factory preset #10 to finish the same song)

    The setting at the 4:20 wasn't the best to demonstrate dynamic range. I think clean where we can hear the volume going up and down and edge of breakup so we can hear it going down to overdriven with adjustments with pick attack would have been better. That said it really is hard if not impossible to be able to gauge dynamics through any video, there's just too much compression caused be recording, storing it, then streaming it through a computer doesn't allow it. That is why I think a clean going into overdriven is really the only way to hear it, but even then it's more or less a hint of what you might hear.
    Im going to get one of these though. I have a Headrush that i use at home, but when i gig or play out i use either a 50W Dumble clone or Silver Jubilee. I use a Strymon Iridium for modelling live and a traditional pedal board.

Especially the bass and acoustic guitar capabilities, a very all in one too in a studio. But if you are into just electric guitars MG300 is a really really good bang for the buck, sound and IRs are just what separates it from its similarly priced competitors.

      For live gigs, my Korg Toneworks AX1500G kicks it's ass for convenience, but what you can do is set the Ctrl button for Scenes, which allows you to add extra effects (delay, rev, overdrive, etc) with two more sets per patch, and then program 3 or 4 patches next to each other. This allows you some flexibility and ease while switching sounds. For instance, on one patch, scene 1 is my standard clean sound, scene 2 adds a flanger and gives my Andy Summers police clean sound. One more push of of the Ctrl gives me a fat clean lead sound using compression and reverb. One patch/ 3 different sounds. Furthermore using the expression foot (double) switch that comes with it, allows you to assign 2 more effects to those switches. Hope that helps.

    • @westongeorge4226
      @westongeorge4226 Před 3 lety

      They are for navigating the interface. It comes with a 2 switch separate expression pedal, which can be used for turning effects blocks on / off on a particular patch. When I play live, I make sure to group all of the presets I am going to use near each other, so I don't have to keep clicking through the preset list to find them. With the new firmware, you can also set up 3 scenes for each preset, and assign the tap switch on the main unit to change scenes.
