    A small correction to the table: the v2 goggle does not do 810p orn144 Hz with the air unit or vista, only with the new Flash drone.

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  Před 3 lety +10

      This comes form part of the mess of the launch. The original media page for the V2 on DJI stated that the Live stream was now going to be 810P and it showed this as being the case for the Air units as well FPV. However now that’s all gone and is not shown anywhere.
      I do believe also it’s not going to happen in the future however I left it there as that’s what they said originally. Even the current Dji Store spec says 810P for live view but does not make it clear what they mean.
      Frankly the whole launch was a mess and listening to your comments you got the same thing as I did with basically hay you can talk about this tomorrow then is was all don’t talk about it.
      In the end I choose to leave it in as they appear to say is was going to happen but I will add a sticky post to explain better as that’s warranted.
      Appreciate the feedback.

      I have both V1 and V2.and I prefer my V1'S over the V2 as I feel they perform better at handling RX signal. Like you I run a 3 turn or 7turn heli on bottom right and I've gotten insane range. Also I will use my Iflight Crystal patches both connected to bottom ports on the V1'S and get decent results. Now my v2's I haven't yet found a good solution. I've tried multiple antenna placements on the V2'S and I haven't gotten very much if any difference than stock, actually they seem to perform worse when I'm NOT using the OEM antennas on the V2'S. I just let others that want to watch me fly wear the V2 set because imo The V1's out perform the V2'S when using with AirUnits or Vistas.

Will the True rc X-Air 5.8G MkII antennas that plug into both ports on each side, still work well on the V2 goggles? As I have just recieved V2 goggles ( retailer being less than honest ) instead of the V1's they had listed. I bought the two X-Air antennas for the V1's and now have a potential issue. Also has the new firmware been released for the V2's as I don't want to brick my expensive new toy! go DJI.. Thanks for your input.

    If I have V2s and 2 x-air patches what would an idea setup be? I currently have one on each side (uses all 4 ports). But am trying to wrap my head around what is optimal. I know I should consider buying some omnis for variety of antenna. Would there be any benefit to running them diagonally so that one patch covers both RX and one patch covers both TX? If I am understanding correctly as I have it setup currently each patch covers a rx and a tx. Does it even make a difference if I move these around considering the antennas I am using are identical?

    Hi Ian, question to V2 goggles: is the new antenna config if we use the V2 goggles in V1 mode? Or does this maybe only apply to V2 mode with Occusync3 mode?
    That's all so complex - makes testing antennas hard.
    maybe you've seen my V1 tests - there I found that the bottom left port is the most impactful (the RX only) for good range. I understood that TX (for control commands) doesnt need to be a patch since only a few bits of control info have to be sent...
    If this is correct I should see the best range with 5.8 directional antennas on the RX only ports (bottom left, top right) and the other 2 can be omnis. Or (my fav): using 4 directional 3turn helicals :)
    Will do some testing with V1 vs V2(in V1 mode) regards to static testsetup video range. curious what I'll find ;)
    greets, Mario

    Antenna orientation I still get better range with patches on bottom and omni on top on my V2... this makes since since the goggles no longer diversity switch it just uses all the antennas and it will just use the longest range ones it can as long as your facing the quad. If you put the patches on both the TX antennas yes the quad gets your signal but you don't get the video feed as good, or you could just put patches on all of them.

I’ll be flying the DJI Avata mainly however also have the Nazgul Evoque and Cinelog25 that I will fly too. How will this patch work with the Avata? I don’t fancy switching the faceplate everytime I want to fly.
    I have the iflight patch and 2 stubbies they supply. But heard about they’re not 2.4? Does this mean I can’t use these at all with the Avata and controller 2 / motion controller? Or do I use the two patch but put 2 of the stock DJI antenna on the top for example instead of stubbies to resolve? Or so I literally have to switch faceplates?
