The so called "friendship" is always "strategic" and transactional. NATO will help you in continuing the never-ending war but you cannot join NATO until you prove your worth (there is a significant damage to your country from a long-running war). Even after that there is no guarantee because you might benefit more from NATO than NATO from you/Ukraine after Russia is weakened.

For those who havent read the Indian government's Commission's report on how 1.8 billion Indians were unalived by the British Here is a short summary
First, it was done over a very long period of 200+ years. Not all in one go. And it was the British policies and laws implemented that killed 1.8 billion Indians, not that they were executed

India is in a business relationship with Russia. The Russians don't like East Indian people or black people. I know my daughter is 1/2 Indian and looks very Indian and we went to Moscow and Krasnoyarsk. She was treated badly. If you google search , you will find out the truth. Russia doesn't give a shit about India and just wants a customer to buy oil and sell junk military equipment to. Now India has decided to stop buying the military hardware because it has now been shown to be horrible. They can't service the equipment and the stuff is inferior. The invasion of Ukraine by Putin has shown how bad all the Russian junk is. Why doesn't India make it's own hardware ? They can and they should.
I have many Indian friends and in my city in Canada there has been an explosion in Indian people and we welcome them all.
