    I get chills every time I listen to this. I'm not a particularly sentimental person, certainly not religious, nor am I in any way 'woke', but I literally feel a chill (in a good way) listening to this.
    I wish more people of today would listen to his wisdom, instead of fomenting hate and perpetuating divisions in the name of social justice.

    Perhaps America's greatest orator, theologian, philosopher, and poet. A man who could unapologetically and scathingly condemn our nation's grave injustices and evils while always offering powerful words of redemption and hope. His message and legacy are timeless. When I am tempted to despair and abandon hope, I listen to a sermon y Dr. King and my faith is restored.

    Many years ago, I had a "near-death experience" for which there were no suitable words to serve as description for friends demanding an accounting. For Christmas, someone sent me a Dr. King wall calendar with affixed quotations. I found there the words for myself, and for my friends: "...we must finally believe in the ultimate morality of the universe..." Then, with time, I found Dr. King's last Christmas Sermon on Peace, and was finally satisfied.

    Thank you for this. I was a very young man when Dr. King struggled against mad dog hate in this country. How we could use his peaceful countenance right now. Dr. King was our conscience. The flame of hatred still burns in our country. I wish we would honestly follow the dictates of Jesus Christ. What brings us together is so much more powerful than what divides us.

    To anyone reading this: don't carry a burden of hatred towards anyone just because its trendy or popular or mainstream. Right is right: wrong is wrong. We all need each other. There is no reality in which hating people based on race is acceptable. That means we cant wield hate in retaliation to some perceived wrong. I hope someone can read between the lines 😅.

    to the one looking for Dr King's testimony, I did hear in one of his sermons/speeches on you tube that he said God got a hold of him at his kitchen table in the middle of the night when he was very afraid because of death threats. he stated that, up until that time, he had always relied on being able to go to his Dad about stuff, but the Lord spoke to him about courage and so on. so, there at his table, he had a spiritual breakthrough for himself in the Holy Spirit. now he had his own powerful experience I this way for seemingly the first time. I hope I have explained it true to fact, but that's what I recall hearing. hope this helps.

    I sat down with my cousin one holiday season and got into a conversation.I started by talking about world peace and how great it would be.He is a christian who is very devout and because of this he told me that world peace will be a bad thing because it will only come when the antichrist comes.If such a conversation ever comes up between us again I think I will quote martin here.= )

    • @alexlewisrose
      @alexlewisrose Před 9 lety

      Surely enough world peace will be achieved when Jesus established His kingdom on earth. The peace that will be acclaimed by the antichrist will be a false, short lived peace. The only true peace is in Jesus Christ, which the words of Martin Luther King Jr. speaks of and reflect of the soon coming King. May God bless you and keep you! In Jesus' name. Amen!
      Alex

    • @florenmage
      @florenmage Před 9 lety +1

      Alex Rose Well i think we humans could have peace any time we wanted to but we are to stupid violent angry and greedy to do so.We dont need jesus or gods to do this.We can all just sit down shut up and talk our problems out.But then again.That will never happen.You may believe in jesus and god but the fact is that those entities dont have much chance to actually exist.I doubt anyone is up in the sky with a wise master plan of benevolence.God is either evil or very limited in his power.Either way we humans have to fend for ourselves and stop being barbaric to one another on our own.A 2000 year old magic carpenter will not save anyone.

    • @alexlewisrose
      @alexlewisrose Před 9 lety +1

      Yes you are indeed right about the fact that we ourselves can not achieved world peace because our greed. The thing is that often times our angry and bitterness towards one another can drive us to go to the extremes. I see that. It can caused friction between one another that can result in war. I can clearly see that evident in today's world where at every turn their is violent plaguing our world and honestly we could all come together and turn the tables of violent with nonviolent. This is what MLK Jr. proposes that we solve every violent problem with peaceful means. He proposes that we ought to," love our white brethren" even when they mistreat us. Jesus said that we must, "Love your enemies, bless them that hate you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you." Matthew 5:44 KJV This was the philosophy of Dr. King. The philosophy that we should rather love our enemies, instead of hating them. With this he knew would restore world peace. This gave him the strength to love and to conquer his enemies. If we would become more Christ-like, the dissension between people would soon fade away. This would be the only way of winning people, by loving them. Notwithstanding, it has been prophesied in the Bible foretold by Jesus of his soon coming and of the end of the world that," Ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." Matthew 24:6-8 KJV Jesus knew from His revelations from God that these things would come to pass and he is forewarning us of these things. Events such like the Vietnam War spoken about by MLK Jr. were a result of our greed, which God, like many things knew would happen. It is God's plan that such incidents would occur so that we his people would see our sinful nature in full light. Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, would make this profound statement professing that," ... in this body dwelleth no good thing." Romans 7:18 KJV As long as we are in this body we are prone to sin. Sin separates us from God. And like greed starts war so does it start war with God. God is a holy God and he will not tolerate sin. Such sin mentioned in Galatians 5:19-21 makes it clear what behaviors God does not like for us, His children, to take up;" Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleaness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkeness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." This is what is tearing the world apart now and is drawing us further away from God. However, in his seeking love for us, he will not allow us to perish in Hell because of our sins. It is His Will that," no man should perish, but that all should come to everlasting life." Sometimes it takes such calamities to wake us up to the reality before us: that we are weak by ourselves. I can understand why you don't believe in God. I can see your point on why any god would allow such things to happen in the world that He cares so deeply about. Nevertheless, like doubting Thomas, one of Jesus' disciples, after Jesus was resurrected, would not believe any of the report claimed by other believers that Jesus is alive. But as he would soon find out when Jesus himself would appear to the disciples while eating, he would prove to Thomas that he was really before him. Thomas, in an act to justify his faith in Jesus Christ, would stick his hand in Jesus' hands where the nails where and thrust in his side, and it would take this fact of His presence for him to finally believe. God wants us to see that he truly loves us by Him going out of his way to save us through His Son in order to escape this dying world. However, like in many things in our lives we must walk by faith. (for it is written," We walk by faith, and not by sight.") Whether trying to complete a difficult task or claim safety; we must have faith. Yet as a loving parent disciplines his or her child, so must God do the same thing to us to help us to line up with His Word. But the fact is, God is real. Surely enough one can argue of the existence of energy that it is something that we all need. Yet I myself do not see energy itself as it is talked about. Or, for instance light, I see light, but not the particles themselves. So how do you explain the existence of such things if I do not see them? Yet I do see the products or results, but I do not see the actual source by which the product(s) were made. Let be ask you this question, who woke you up this morning and allowed you to sleep peaceful all night long? Surely it could have not been you because you were asleep. What could have stopped you from having a coma or dying in your sleep? Nothing but the Lord with his outstretched hand and loving kindness that kept you all last night.Therefore this does not give an argument that their is no existence of God. You cannot say that there is no God when you cannot show me the sources of such things. We, as of right now may not be able to see God since we are in the flesh (for it is written," to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."), however, we all do clearly observe the products of His existence. He is everywhere. From the smallest green herb to the largest planet, God's creation can be noted. It is an in undeniable fact that there is no possibility that something can out of nothing, perhaps something came out of something would be more accurate. And God is that something. He that something that created something. God is the one who ushered in the "Big Bang" and who is in control of all things. I know you may not believe me right now, but let God lead you. He will surely reveal himself unto you if you only believe that He will. Romans 10:9 sums it all up," That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, THOU SHALT BE SAVED." You can be saved from the coming destruction that it about come up the earth as prophesied by Daniel the prophet in Daniel 8,9, and 10. Fear not of what is to come upon the earth soon because " perfect love cases out fear." God does love you and no matter how many times the devil may say otherwise is it a lie. 1 John 4:7 & 9 speaks of this truth: "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. In this was manifested the love of God towards us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him." Like the words of MLK Jr. that echo through out the ages is proof to this very cause, and is the answer to all of the world's problems," Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that."
      May I lead you into a salvation prayer? And make sure that you believe what you are praying, unless it becomes void:
      Dear Heavenly Father,
      "I come humbly before you acknowledging my sins before you. Since I know that nothing can be hidden from you and you know all of my wrongdoings, I come before you in repentance. I'm sorry for all of my sins and I believe that you sent your only begotten Son, Jesus to die on the cross for my sins and for all of the sins of the world. I believe that you rose Him up from the dead and He is alive today siting on the right hand of power. I pray that you filled me up with your precious gift of the Holy Ghost so that my life can shine before men and that I too many lead people to Christ. In Jesus' Name I pray and I thank you for saving me from my sins. Amen!"
      May the Lord continue to guide you in all truth and keep your steps from sliding! I'll continue to pray for you and your family.
      Your brother in Christ.
      Love,
      Alex Rose

    He preached Christ. He preached what Christ preached, the one, Martin believed in unto death. Those who use Martins name today, many of them have turned away from Christ, except perhaps with lip service, but not placing themselves under Christ's Lordship, to obey what He preached. And yet, expect that their "New" message will resonate with those who do follow Christ. Some have followed other gods, and religions. Martin was not just a civil rights leader. He was a preacher for Christ. He lay down everything, for Christ. His dream, what He stood for, cannot come to fruition without men following Christ, with their lives, not just their words. What we vote for, how we live, what we say, must all be under the Lordship of Christ, and line up with what He taught, or, we are just flailing in the wind. And all our efforts are self based, and man based, and not from God. They will fail. The Bible, is the Word of God, and has full and utter authority in our lives, and must be studied and applied. Prayer is so crucial, us worshiping and honoring God, and taking our petitions to Him. But, if we say we are his, but do not obey Him, but instead do our own thing, He will not hear us. For we are disobedient and bastard children, who live in rebellion. That is the Gospel of truth, That Christ is Lord. And He is the way, the truth, and the Life. And that no man comes to the father, except through Christ Jesus. Follow Martin? To do that, You must follow Christ. For the Master is greater than His servant. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Master, if we will place ourselves under His authority. It is an act of the will.

    This message is timeless and poignant to the current climate here in America. We treat our Mexican bros and sis as if they are our enemiea, despite sharing geographical proximity; we are dependent upon them in so many ways but look to exploit them for our own gain. Racial violence has peaked to the levels of Dr.King's time...the more things change, the more they stay the same sadly. Our sinful nature has this nation stuck in immaturity.

    I'd like to share this with my church, but only about 5 minutes worth. Do I have permission to download this video and cut out the pieces we want to show them?

    Can someone send me a link of any of the following? 1. MLK's personal testimony of how and when he became saved, died to himself, and came to know Christ savior? 2. A sermon where he preached the biblical doctrine of salvation through Christ alone? I've been searching, asking, and waiting for years, but found nothing so far.

      +Jimmy Sudekum For those of us that believe and have had an encounter with God; when he shares his testimony in that 7+ minutes" a knock at midnight " or his first recording "The message at Galilee " there is no doubt that he has a personal relationship with God. I accepted his word for what he believed he heard. Listen to the message first and draw your own conclusion.

      ^^Perfect example of a predisposed ethnocentric view on Christianity^^^
      Mlk’s principles were derived from biblical teaching. His profession of faith and commitment to God’s will is evident in every speech and sermon. His devotion to Christ’s teachings, prayer life, and Love for humanity(specifically social justice) is waaay bigger than the contemporary contextual understandings of what qualifies a “Christian” or “disciple”.
      Mlk pointed to Jesus.
      Jesus called us to love one another, and defined true religion as such.
      Christian churches added some ideas to that thereafter.

    Christmas is sadly a holiday that cuts christ out of His own plan of salvation, christ is coming to receive His own we really need to study the prophecies of Daniel and the revelation. WITHOUT the blood of JESUS christ we cannot love ,we have to stop being puppets for the papacy.

    I absolutely love this speech, but the amount of people coughing in the background is preposterous. Excuse yourself!

    He was not a prophet sadly just a man looking at things from the wrong angel, God has a plan all we must do is humble ourselves to receive it.
