SCP343 was discovered walking the streets of Prague and detained after a staff member witnessed him disappear from the streets and reappear on a rooftop. SCP-343 is detained willingly in his chamber, as containment has proved impossible.

I THINK he just wanted to control that universe or whatever but they(his kind)tried to stop him so he just ended up destroying the whole thing. but it DID end up giving him depression... he later came to regret that decision(LABELING the incident as an accident, ...I THINK is how it went).
Bill was ALWAYS a monster. . though, I might be in part kinda wrong about this story... I don't exactly consider myself an expert rememberer or anything, but that's what I loosely recall how that story went.

how does this sound like SCP-035? 035 talks to personnel when they are conscious, when they are asleep he reveals himself to them mask and all. Bill showed himself as well but they are different shapes. Ontop of that you try working at a high stress job where every small thing you do is heavily scrutinized and you have to abide by a set of rules to the T, then get expected to keep your guard up in your sleep as well.

It's like how he can't adapt the SCP foundation out of existence because that alone isn't harming him even if they do get in his way repeatedly, their methods of capture do harm him, and thus he adapts resistances to the damage caused in response, however he still has to manually cause destruction himself.

The ending actually makes sense considering that in the SCP-verse, all fiction is true, with fiction being one layer down, fiction within fiction being two, and so on. So SCP-343 just kicked him down to a lower layer.

Agreed. I've said it a few times, but I'll say it again. SCP 343 may not be God, but he's still a very powerful reality warper who is nearly invincible. One cannot simply dispatch him like that just by him putting on a mask or being erased. Those episodes were just ridiculously unrealistic.
