BABYMETAL Feat. Dragonforce on Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2015
"Gimme Chocolate!!" (ギミチョコ!!, Gimi Choko!!) is a song by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal from their self-titled debut album. Though it was not released as a single in Japan, the song became an international success, with its music video gaining over 100 million views on CZcams. Later, it was released via earMusic in the United Kingdom on May 31, 2015 as a digital single.
Babymetal (Japanese: ベビーメタル, Hepburn: Bebīmetaru) is a Japanese kawaii metal band. The band consists of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal" (Vocal and Dance) and Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal" (Scream and Dance). The band is produced by Kobametal from the Amuse talent agency. Their vocals are backed by heavy metal instrumentation, performed by a group of session musicians known as the "Kami Band".
The band was formed in 2010, with the original lineup of Su-metal (Vocal and Dance), Moametal (Scream and Dance), and Yui Mizuno as "Yuimetal" (Scream and Dance), with the concept of creating a fusion of the heavy metal and Japanese idol genres. Originally a sub-unit of the Japanese idol group Sakura Gakuin, Babymetal became an independent act in 2013, following Nakamoto's departure from Sakura Gakuin. Babymetal released their eponymous debut album in February 2014. Their second album Metal Resistance was released worldwide on April 1, 2016. Babymetal has also embarked on several tours, with a majority of their tour dates taking place outside of Asia.
On October 19, 2018, Babymetal announced that Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal) had decided to leave the band due to poor health, following her absence from live performances since December 2017. Since her departure, the band has performed with one or more backup dancers at live performances. In 2019, the band introduced three backup dancers called Avengers who performed in rotation at each live show to form a trio with Moametal and Su-metal.
DragonForce are a British power metal band from London, England. The band was formed in 1999 by guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman, and are known for their long and fast guitar solos, fantasy-themed lyrics and retro video game-influenced sound. DragonForce's current lineup comprises Li, Totman, vocalist Marc Hudson and drummer Gee Anzalone. The band have been through a number of lineup changes throughout their career; longtime members in vocalist ZP Theart, keyboardist Vadim Pruzhanov, drummer Dave Mackintosh and bassist Frédéric Leclercq are among the former members of the band.
DragonForce have released eight studio albums, two live albums, one compilation album, one live DVD and one demo. Their third album, Inhuman Rampage (2006), was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America and the British Phonographic Industry ; its lead single, "Through the Fire and Flames", is their best-known song, and was featured in several video games, including Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. The lead single from their fourth album, "Heroes of Our Time", was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2009.
Suzuka Nakamoto (中元 すず香, Nakamoto Suzuka, born December 20, 1997), known by her stage names Suzuka and Su-metal, is a Japanese musician, singer and model. She is best known as a member of the kawaii metal band Babymetal. She is represented by the talent agency Amuse, Inc. and has been a member of three musical groups formed by the company: Karen Girl's, Sakura Gakuin, and Babymetal.
Yui Mizuno (水野 由結, Mizuno Yui, born June 20, 1999) is a Japanese musician, singer, model, and actress. She is a former member of the kawaii metal group Babymetal and the idol group Sakura Gakuin. In October 2018, she left Babymetal due to an undisclosed illness, and will be possibly returning to the stage as a solo artist. She is managed by the Amuse, Inc. talent agency.
Moa Kikuchi (菊地 最愛, Kikuchi Moa, born July 4, 1999) is a Japanese musician, singer, model, and actress. She is represented by the talent agency Amuse, Inc. She is a member of the kawaii metal group Babymetal and a former member of the idol group Sakura Gakuin.
Metal Resistance (stylized in all caps) is the second studio album by Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. It was first released on March 29, 2016, in Japan through BMD Fox Records, and on April 1, 2016, worldwide through earMusic, RED Associated Labels (RAL), and Sony Music Entertainment. Most work for the album began in 2014, shortly after the release of the band's debut album Babymetal.

I think one of the most impressive things about Babymetal is the fact that this song is absolutely insane, but if you pay attention the three members are extremely professional, talented, and hardworking. And, honestly, I don't think this ridiculous concept could possibly work any other way 😅

Has anyone ever thought about the original conversation with the Kami band. Something like this "Hello guys, i know you are the four best metal musicians in Japan but i have an idea. I have three teenage girls that i want yo to play behind while they sing the songs, What do you think".... This i why i have so much time for these guys, they always leave everything on the stage. They never let the girls down. Boh is always giving 100% and the drummer .. well...what can i say... all of them. Also the girls never ever let them down either. What a band this is...They have to be one of the best of all time. I LOVE BABYMETAL.
Bit late here but they originally had different band and kami band joined them in like 2014/15 when BM were already huge.
@@aurathus3045 Officially the Kami band joined them in 2013 at Legend 1997, but members were already playing as their backing band at events in 2012.
They looked a little tired for me. They deserve big respect even if you don't like their music because they worked really hard from age 10-13 to get where they are today. I saw concert where you can see the sweat literally pouring down i guess Yui's hair. Mad respect for the girls for their hard work!

They all have incredible breath control also. You see on some other performances where there is intense dancing followed by stillness. There's no sign of heavy breathing while holding fixed facial expressions, but then I guess the 'still' section is to allow them to catch breath?
Even Maddie Ziegler can be seen breathing heavily after her routines.

@@pascaletje9 Yeah, of course she's grown up, that's obvious. She's always shown a very strong but feminine voice, but on this performance she sounds cuter than usual. I've watched a couple of concerts from around the time this one happened, and only in this one she sounds like this. That's what I meant.

Babymetal just finished their US tour with Dethklok. Getting ready for their European tour. However, they just dropped another shocker!! Bring Me The Horizon and Babymetal just performed Kingslayer live. It is f**** insane as both on stage at tge same time!! What i would have done to be there live!! 🦊🤘🔥

OK. This was amazing. First, having an alternative to GC´s guitar solo by dragon force -- incredible. Second, Su screaming "Seno" for the final bow "a-la" SG, and having Dragonforce actually following suit -- heartwarming. Finally, screaming "see you" and having Dragon Force's dude say it after... just smile-inducing greatness.

It makes me happy seeing bands collab with Babymetal, especially since their style is not, uh, traditional. (Not dissing babymetal, I found out about them like 2 months ago and have been hooked since)

I've read a comment on a different Babymetal video saying that they were banned from the event because the promoter decided to be an ass saying that they were just a fad and DragonForce invited them so they can perform.
Download the place where played mainstage in 2016 after sneaking on with Dragon Force to perform Gimme Chocolate the year before in 2015 and got invited back 🤣🤘🦊
