Hi, thanks for the informative video. I'm just getting into scanning the 433Mhz range. Yesterday with the cheapy bunny ear type aerial I picked up our efergy energy monitor on 433. Today I'm using a discone antenna and picked up someone's security device "DSC-Security" on 433. I

All working great with the rtl sdr v3, included antena kit, win 10 and sdr# comunity package. Only got messages decoded on 433, here in europe i get messages on the 868 band but not decoded.

I can't seem to decode anything. I've tried the default 433.92 MHz frequency, and I can see little signal blips, but the plug-in never recognizes anything. I'm using an Airspy R2 with the squelch turned off and the gain set at 17. I'm seeing other little signal blips on adjacent frequencies between about 433.8 - 434.0. I tried doing a Frequency Scanner range scan (another great SDR# plug-in), but the signals don't ever seem to be decoded. Perhaps the signals are not that strong.

Tech Minds I used to have the same setup for rtl433 as you.. I have the windows dos version and rtl v3 sdr hardware, to receive messages from devices such as weather stations, tyre pressure monitoring, etc. so I’m going to download the plug-in I think it’s very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting. I'll have to look into some more as I'm wondering if is like the Universal Radio Hacker app modified to be an SDRsharp plugin. I've not used in a year or so as this last winter electronics, radio and RF engineering season was substituted with sewing machine rescues and functional restores along with some other things including advocacy. Thanks for sharing!

I can't get the plugin to work. I have added the .dlls to the SDR Sharp folder but it doesn't show up in the application. I think I have to add a line to the plugins config file? But I ca'nt find anything that looks right to add.

I downloaded a more recent version of SDR Sharp and got the SDR 433 to run. But now, I have some kind of exception error when I try to change frequency from 103Mhz at startup to 433.920. I thought the plug in would do that by itself when I select 433. Weird.

    Great job 👍👍
How stupid is to place an ISM band on a great Ham band...
Those devices get blocked miles away by normal Ham operation.
With milions of frequencies avaiable, some idiot would have to invent ISM 433 (and european LPD433 also....😥)

    • @plemli
      @plemli Před 2 lety +1

There's 868MHz ISM. The 434 ISM band was intentionally chosen because it was in the middle of a HAM band so no 'serious' users needed to be inconvenienced.

We take the garbage and they take the strong interference:
One Ham operator will block remote controls (garage, etc.) for miles and miles away...

Have followed these instructions and all went well but keep getting exception reports when program is running with the plugin enabled and nothing is decoded. Using SDR# with Windows 10 and Funcube Dongle Pro+. I'm aware of others having the same problem. What can I be doing wrong or is it that this plugin works with some SDR's and not others?

Was getting exceptions with the HackRF One and nothing detected (don't think it liked the higher sample rates.)
Took ages to get it behaving with an RTL dongle till I found that it is very fussy about the settings (which I will stick into a separate post as more people may notice it.)

Seems to be optimized for weather-station. Unfortunately not very flexible to analyse unknown signals like the 433 ISM transmission from my (Miele W941) washing machine.
One of my weather station is transmitting at 868.340 MHz. Decoding works really cool. My hardware is an Ettus B200.
I have two sensors. One at 433.9 MHz "Protocol 19 Model Nexus T Channel: 2" and the other at 868.34 MHz "Protocol 32 Model Fineoffset WHx080".
Bzw the Nexus sends a really shitload of data wie every package! It is almost 512 Byte but only Temperature is displayed .....
The "Fineoffset" sends less data but the decoder displays much more information like humidity, wind gust, wind afg speed, sind direction, rainfall and even DCF77 time (high precision time transmitted at 77Khz here in Europe)

For anybody having issues with RTL type dongles, the authors site (marco40github.wixsite.com/website/plugin-sdrsharp-pour-rtl-433?lang=en) has some info which isn't mentioned over at github
You must set the sample rate to 0.25MSPS, enable RTL AGC and Tuner AGC or you will get nothing (except the odd exception) once I got those settings it was pretty OK but seeing less than the CLI version I had running in parallel (think some of the decode functions weren't enabled even when I said to enable them all.) The dongle used was a Nooelec NESDR SMArt so it wasn't a £3.00 thing off ebay
It didn't like the HackRF One at all (nothing for ages then an exception.)
It's definitely more convenient than running a CLI window, but dunno if it's 'quite there yet.'

Unfortunately no of the windows "Verbose", "Protocol 12 etc." will startup when signals are showing in the signal/waterfall.
