    I like to ride it around the town, it is so stable on slow speed.

      Thanks Jon, they are great bikes. Like you I stepped down from a bigger bike. Love the ease of the XADV and can't do without DCT!

    I was quite seriously thinking of getting one of these about a year and half ago but like you mentioned no heated grips as standard and no cruise control! I also found it still a little high for me, 5, 8".
    I feel at present somebody high up in an office somewhere is making the all the decisions on this bike at Honda and is totally out touch with people who ride bikes which is a shame because I really do like the ADV.
    I ended up getting a Triumph Tiger 900GT Pro, now triumph are in touch with their riders!
    A great informative video thanks.

      Thanks for watching Jim, the X-ADV is missing a few options as standard which is frustrating when you look at the price. Mind you i still think its a great bit of kit, especially the ease of riding with the DCT. Added a few extras to make it a bit more versatile. Will have that done in the next coupe of weeks. Enjoy the Tiger, great bikes, I had a Tiger 800 a few years ago and it was a great bike. Ended up trading it in for a GS a few years later which i regretted. was way to big to cut around the London traffic!

    A very helpful video, thanks for putting it together. What is it with Honda being so late to the cruise control party. This bike is now ride by wire so no excuses. Meanwhile most other manufacturers are offering adaptive cruise, whereas the Honda offering only works in 3rd and above and at 30mph +. I bought a brand new NC750X DCT and there was no way I was paying the Honda price for heated grips, especially after reading all the complaints about them not being hot enough on the AT. I fitted a pair of Tecnoglobe Golds that cost me £90 and had an integrated controller. Thanks again 👍🏻

      Thanks for watching, completely agree. Honda could do so much better with a few additions as standard. I do love the DCT and the bike in general. It's just missing a few essential ingredients. One thing I cant knock Honda for though is the build quality and the bullet proof engine reliability!

      @@SVTaurito interestingly Honda have not been good to me! Our Civic was by a country mile the most unreliable car we’ve owned to date, it was in the garage for warranty work on a monthly basis. Then my NC developed a gearbox fault result in it sticking in gear. Took Honda months to figure out what was going on, they even stripped the gearbox. Turned out that lots of 2017/2018 DCT bikes had the same issue, a manufacturing fault with the shifter motor resulted in it sticking. A new shift motor fixed it. I got rid after that but really miss the DCT. I’m currently on a GS and although the quick shifter is great it’s no DCT 😉

    • @SVTaurito
      @SVTaurito  Před rokem +3

      I had a GS and Tiger before the X ADV! Great bikes but you can't beat the DCT. Hope I don't get the same issues with the gearbox though! Only 3k miles on mine but it's been reliable so far!

    I’m guessing no tyre pressure monitoring? Same, bizarrely, as the Africa Twin and not even an option.

    • @SVTaurito
      @SVTaurito  Před rokem +1

      Hi Ian, Yep no tyre pressure monitoring on it either. I have had the honda heated grips fitted, been hearing that they do not heat that well on the AT so will test them out soon. Will be doing an equipment vid soon as put a few extras on the XADV to make it a better all rounder.

    Heated grips and cruise control are hardly high tech for a bike with keyless, ride by wire, ride options etc and should be standard at this price. Typically Honda it seems.

      The Tmax is nice but the fuel consumption is worse than proper motorcycles with double the power and the price tag is even more outrageous. 16000€ for a TechMax makes me wanna puke…
