It's pretty good for all that. For shakes you can use blend option and for dry grinding there is a dry function and you can grind in various consistency.

Hello, can you pls give your suggesion by any chance if you have experience with both VITAMIX blender and this Hamiltion mixer? Is this Hamilton mixer grinder close to the VITAMIX performance. Becuase here in India, the Vitamix blender are quite pricy due to import duties and taxes. So, if the Hamilton beach grinder mixer performance at least close to the Vitamix performance, I want to go with the HB mixer so that I can save a big amount of money. So, pls let me know, thank you.

Have u tried making a smoothie using ice cubes? Does it crush ice
Can crush ice. But not that efficient with pre set functions. You will have to pulse and keep moving the ice with a spatula or something to get it all evenly crushed.

Hi, we would have used it for a year or so. After that, we gave it away. Not because of anything wrong. Because we were reviewing more mixer grinders. Other than the high noise levels, we were quite happy with its performance.
