The 17643 / 17644 Circar Express is a daily express train run by Indian Railways from Chengalpattu Junction railway station to Kakinada Port railway station. The train covers a distance of 755 km.
Train no. 17643 departs from Puducherry every day at 13:00 hrs. reaching Kakinada Port the next day at 10:10hrs. Train no. 17644 departs from Kakinada Port every day at 14:20 hrs. reaching Puducherry the next day at 11:00 hrs.
The train is hauled by Lallaguda Loco Shed based WAP-7 or Vijayawada Loco Shed based WAP-4 electric locomotive on its entire journey.

Kakinada Port railway station (station code:COA) is an Indian Railways station in Kakinada of East Godavari district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It lies on the Samalkot-Kakinada Port branch line, a branch line of Howrah-Chennai main line and is administered under Vijayawada railway division of South Coast Railway zone (formerly South Central Railway zone).
Kakinada Port railway station was initially constructed in the year 1882 and new Kakinada Port railway station (Present Station) was built at a cost of ₹5 crore (US$630,000) and was opened on 26 December 2011. Old port station was being used for goods & other transport activities.
It is one of the 38 stations in the division to be equipped with Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs).

Chengalpattu Junction railway station is a railway junction of the southern section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network situated in the town of Chengalpattu, 56 kilometres (35 mi) south-west of Chennai Beach. The station falls in the Chennai railway division of the Southern Railway zone of the Indian Railways. Officially it bears the code CGL.
The lines at the station were electrified on 9 January 1965, with the electrification of the Tambaram-Chengalpattu section.
The Chengalpattu train station is located at the heart of the Chengalpattu city, on the banks of the Kolavai Lake. It is situated on the SH-58, and opposite to its main entrance lies the TNSTC and Mofussil bus terminals. There is also a statue in the memory of Periyar outside the train station.
The station is a part of the Chennai-Villupuram line and another line, the Arakkonam-Chengalpattu line.
The nearest airport from the station is the Chennai International Airport located at a distance of nearly 42 kilometres from the city.
The Chengalpattu Junction being a focal point on the Chennai-Villupuram line, inevitably means that every south-bound train from Chennai has to operate via the junction thus making it one of the most crowded railway stations of the Indian Railways.
There also several suburban trains operating from and through the station towards Chennai and the station holds prime importance in the South and South-west lines of the Chennai Suburban Railway.
