I love watching these videos, not only so I can watch fine workmanship but so I can learn more techniques I can use with my power tools.
Thank You for this post. Planning this exact fix on a 70-year-old door next weekend and doing some research. I will steal the trick with the router guide screwed onto the door - I didn't think of that.
Make sure your screws don’t pass through your router path! Happy building
Hello John, Thank you for your video. The attention to detail is fantastic, hopefully, the door will last another 100 years.
Brilliant job.
Gordon, Halifax,UK
Typical Boss turns up to help you put the letter plate into place 😂👍🏼 cheers boss I really needed your assistance with that!
Nice job! Lovely door!
Really nice work. Nice to see that there are still people who take pride in their work.
Nice job very common sense approach to the issues you encountered during the rebuild
Excellent and beautiful job on this door repair. I Love what you all do, fixing broken and making it work again.
Just one criticism, why have the letterbox right at the bottom? They should have put it in the middle underneath the door knob. Poor postmans gonna get an aching back!
Not just that mail can be easily stolen. I think it might be for looks? The other side was covered up.
Amazing! This kind of skill and craftsmanship are very hard earned. Very good job. And on that note, I'll be leaving my original 130 yr old door that was once on our house, at the back of the garden shed, where I found it. This is way beyond my skill set.
I love watching these videos. You not only see how things are repaired and learn how to do them for yourself but you also realise hwo much work goes into fixing things. Love the 'new' door!
what??? u love to watch two idiots a full speed doing something that never explain and never want to teach anyone how to do the whole process???? really girl???
Great work. One step I would add, Before applying bondo, Apply wood petrifier, I was a Contractor in Seattle for over 20 years, its a great wood preserver and makes old, soft wood hard, also prevents future rot.
Thanks for posting the video. Maybe Customers will start to understand how much actual work goes into these projects.
Easy come, easy go..))) Respect for your working from Russia.
This is great. Thanks so much for making this video. I really needed to see the part starting at 7:00 ish about repairing the bottom of the door.....I had been wanting to get doors put back into the opening on our first floor between the front room and the dining room and just in the last few days realized the pair of doors were still in the house but had been redeployed by previous owners each to single openings elsewhere and one had been trimmed top and sides to fit one of the openings. I'm really hoping to be able to fix it and bring the pair back together to their original location. At least this is some inspiration!
I really like how they were able to return the doors physical integrity and still keep it mostly original.
It still tells its lifes story
mid way through this video, I was like "did I click on the wrong video? where is the goddam door restoration?", oh never mind.
Same, bro, same!
Грамотная работа и не только в плане работы с деревом и инструментом! Молодцы
Very nice craftsmanship! And you didn’t ask for my opinion, but a cranky old carpenter taught me years ago the reason these old doors last as long as they do relies on drainage of the stile-to-rail connection; any moisture that gets into the joints between bottom rail, stiles and panels (and it will) drains out if the stiles (vertical members) run past the ends of the rails (horizontal members)... if the rails run past the ends of the stiles the drainage path is blocked, water can’t get out, rots the rail, stiles, panels faster than before... same with windows. That said, please keep the videos coming! Thx
Glad you finally fixed that DAMN DOOR!

I love that kind of restoration work!
Nice job, keep the videos coming!
super fast, super efficient, and everything is almost perfect.
Love Seattle great job on the door now ill keep an eye out for it!!
Came for 7:21 to 9:07. Thanks a bunch for the detailed view into the repair steps.
I didn't even realize that you installed a temporary door until the very end. Very good work, and efficiently done too.
Had I not seen your comment I was about to stop watching about 10 seconds in when I saw him mortising SPF lol
Man these guys move quick
this has got to be one of the most satisfying videos ive ever seen, watching a craftsman work and the time elapse was a great decision, i myself am restoring an 1894 victorian house and these types of skills are needed in my project, it was super cool to see this guy work
Really appreciate that Daniel. I hope you’re enjoying your restoration project! Sounds like a dream
I guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account?
I was stupid lost the login password. I would love any tips you can offer me
@Kristian Silas instablaster =)
@Gerald Braxton I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out atm.
Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Gerald Braxton it worked and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much you really help me out !
looks awesome
Worth to watch amazing craftsmanship
You guys do good work. So many comments, here, about what you should’ve done. I think minimizing repair work on painted antiques is good, because you don’t know what condition the wood is under the paint, so sometimes out-of-site-out-of-mind is a wise thing. Also, not sanding it down completely preserves the amount of original wood still left in the door for the next repair “100 years” from now.
Wow true craftsmanship!! You are a true craftsman and artist!!
Thank you!
Brilliant piece of restoration work
Fantastic job, great attention to detail. I liked your minimalist approach to repairing! Does this door see daily use? I ask because that spaghetti of wires under the door seemed to make it hard to open, so I didn't know if they used it often.
Thanks for your comment. This is a side door to a retail store. They said they hadn’t opened it in decades
Excellent restoration work .
I like how you can see them loading up the old door from inside the house.
How, nice job on repairing weathered wood and exterior layer... not sure how they filled gaps after buildings settled, may have forgotten to insulation for when it gets even colder. Good use of tools and resources and techniques... driving by couldn't even tell work was done looked natural... thank yous for Sharing
Excellent craftsmanship 👍🏻
Great work fm Heart & Soul..
It's impressive works.

Linseed oil on the door parts before priming would assure a much longer life for old wood and new wood as well.
Great work looks like before but new.
Who can do it better than these guys? Great and professional job, guys!
I think most anyone with half an appreciation for how the original door was constructed could have done a better job. The tenon should have been blind. No screws, NO BONDO, and the replacement wood and veneers
should have been quarter sawn. It could have been done right for the same amount of money and a little more time. This is a goombah job that wouldn’t weather well after that latex paint fails.
beautiful and perfect job congratulations.
👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷
Great job!!! 👏👏
beautiful job. thanks for video.
Like these types of videos, good job guy's 👍
Magnificent work
Very awesome video on restoration on a front door
beautiful craftsmanship
Great job!
Super nice work!
The refurbishing just of the bottom piece on the door. The way the groove was cut and the overall installation. Is damn fine sexy woodwork. I know its a simple thing to do. But when it is done correctly its just a nice sight to see.
I noticed around the 2:15 mark use a combination of nails and screws, I’m just curious as to why? Great job by the way! You guys are so fortunate to have a shop with all the tools and everything.
Great work!
This video kind of remind me old Diresta videos! nice job!!😉
The best complement ever. Thank you!

Great job thanks 😊
I’m very lucky that my 200 year old front door is in as good condition now as when it was first made. Slow grown Baltic softwood is as good as any hardwood.
Perfect
Thanks for the video. I too need to rehang an 8ft by 3.5ft door 2 inches thick. Do you think 3, 4-inch hinges would hold it or would you suggest anything else, as you know what you are talking about? From Cyprus
Nice job!
Beautiful job!
Thank you!
very good craftmanship, I think some people thumbs down because there is not enough explanation. Anyway, I gave my thumbs up.
Nice job guys.
Brilliant video on woodwork skill , I really enjoyed watching it. AA from Karachi Pk.

Nice job...👍
Fantastic job
🇧🇷 ótimo trabalho
Nice job. I have 17 old doors in my home (mostly French windows) which need a similar treatment. I'm thinking of buying all the tools for this project and doing it myself as it will be cheaper than hiring a professional for so many doors. Nice to see videos like this to get some ideas on how to do it properly. How much did your company charge for this job?
Have to agree with you on that one... Just some commentary would have been great. Just to know what products to use where. Would love to see your work... post a clip hey??
Great work
Great job.
Watching at 0.5x so I can keep up !
Amazing work
Thanks David!
