In terms of the diaspora, I think it's important to state that the diaspora remittance will only help the economy if the gaining of Naira against the foreign exchange leads to lower inflation and lower price of goods. Otherwise, the diaspora may be reluctant in their remittances.
The rebounce is a mirage. Your leaders set up shops overseas and stopped direct remittance of foreign currency into Nigeria and set the exact amount of exchange they want to Naira to the currency. Sometimes the currency fluctuations dont get passed to you the end user cause producers can pocket the difference in currency change. The price of goods can only come down when a producer actively slashes their prices. Other producers will follow
