    Ugh...i wish I had seen this video a few years ago. I followed other instructions last time which included removing all panels and both concrete drum-weights to get to the coin filter. I have to do this again, and I am glad to see that I "should" be able to access it through the bottom of the machine
    wish me luck!

    SAVED HOURS On My 2021 Electrolux #ELFE7537AW Front-loader... The trap was filled with Pet Hair for the second time. The first time the warranty covered it and I watched the repair guy fix it, but that was a year ago. and I remember that it could be really simple... Exactly as you show. Finished in 20 minutes. MANY THANKS!

      @@FastFreeFixes To be fair, my washer is in the garage with the 8mm socket close by and I paid attention when the Electrolux Repairman went through the process a year ago... If you have pet hair, it should be the first thing to check. It was last for the repairman and I thought, well look how fast and easy it could have been had he started there. I knew it could be quick... your video was a refresher course! Thanks again. She's a workhorse.

      Same, will definitely be a "feature" I look for in the future. Mine is in a tight space on a pedestal. Have a feeling this is going to really suck.

    I appreciate the easier way you've shown how to remove the filter rather than disassembling the front as when when I replaced the pump, but I still often have issues with it not draining, even though my filter is not clogged at all.

    • @FastFreeFixes

      It might be good to replace the drain pump.

    thank you so much for this video, im disabled and not able to do the things i used to for my wife but 6 hours later the wife and i finallly cleaned the filter... in our case the clamp screw was a 7mm socket , as the angle to unscrew would not allow for the phillips head to get good grip.

      I used a socket as well. Much easier to grip the outside of the spring bolt. I also left the position of the bolt in a location that will be easily accessible when I use this "bottom access" technique in the future (next time I want to clean the filter).

    THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! You’ve save me so much money on a service call… Your video showed me exactly how to do it!! Once I tilt my washer 45° it took me probably about 10 to 15 minutes to get that filter out and take out all the junk!! I do have one question how often should I do this for regular maintenance?

    3 years later and this was the perfect fix for my issue. Water was trapped so I couldn't open the door but once I removed the boot, the washer drained and I was able to clean the filter as well. Does the notch on the filter matter?

    • @FastFreeFixes
      @FastFreeFixes  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Nice job,
      I think the notch lines up with a rubber projection on the rubber drain boot.

    I am trying to fix my washer following your instructions, but the boot is on the opposite side and there is only a wire holding it on, with no clamp that I can see or feel. Also, there seems to be an electrical box on the floor of the washer that will get wet if I take off the boot and there is water in it.
    I was hoping not to have to take the entire front off. 😢

    I just couldn't get a screwdriver on that clamp. For me the only way to get it done was to remove the back panel -- that gave me easy access to the clamp holding the drain filter on.

      Can you do the whole process with the machine upright by removing the back panel? Mine is in a small space and mounted to the pedestal/drawer. To get to the bottom I think I'd have to wiggle it out of the room, maybe take a door off its hinges, then lay the whole stack on its back to remove the pedestal and access the bottom. Might be easier to go in the back of possible.

    Electrolux needs to wake up and put an easy access door on the front of their washers, like all the other washers. Their "self cleaning " only gets the lint out of there (and not all of it). I bought an LG, but I would have bought an Electrolux IF they had an easy access door.

      @@FastFreeFixes I can only imagine. As a matter of fact, before I even saw this reply from you, I was telling my Mom about the video as I have an electrolux washer and dryer, and I started thinking, I'm not going to put ANY old towels in my washer ever again. When they start falling apart I'm throwing them out. Then I saw this.

    Thank you for responding. I see models from 7637, 7537, 7437 and none of them have access to the filters. And they are 3 years older or more. The 7437 has 2 pumps, the 7537 has 3 pumps and the 7637 has 4 pumps - why so many pumps? Does that mean more filters? They all look similar to the model you’re working on - was it a 4.5 cubic ft? I have cleaned filters for years and never had there been socks. Hair ties or a bag in it. I was always informed those filters need to be emptied regularly - every month or two so the water does build up bacteria and to catch little gritty residue from accumulating. Now they make filters inaccessible for the owners. Does anyone have any of the models mentioned and this is the sane location of the filter? It’s so hard to lift it and access. Please help.

    My washer is full of water... can i do this, or will all the water come pouring out as soon as I disconnect the hose? I can't open the door. It's locked.

    • @FastFreeFixes
      @FastFreeFixes  Před 3 měsíci

      Great question Melani,
      Water will come pouring out.
      You can pull it away from the wall and lean it back to 45 degrees to lesson the amount of water that comes out.
      Maybe the door will open when the washer is leaned back?

    • @Kownby
      @Kownby Před 2 měsíci

      Yes, water will gush out. Try running it in diagnostic mode 11 a few times to force it to drain first.

    But if my drum is full of water? Won’t I flood room out

    • @FastFreeFixes
      @FastFreeFixes  Před 9 měsíci

      It’s important to try to get out as much water as you can before doing this.
      One thing you can do is take the drain tube out from behind the washing machine and let it go down as low as possible into a bucket so much of the water can Drain out by gravity.
      Then you can tilt the machine back against the wall to about 45° so that there’s less water present when you remove the drain boot from below the tub.

      @@mymorristribe I just bought an Electrolux WASHER from an estate sale. They said that the pump was bad. I took it apart and that filter was not clogged, neither were the rubber lines. Is there anyway to test the pumps? I believe the pump on the left, is the drain pump and the one on the right is the circulating pump.
