I dont know if you read these but be careful following the canal out to the gulf. To the left theres a dead end thats like a cul-de-sac. I followed a school of mullet down there and was tearing them up. As soon as I got out of the water I saw a good 11--13ft croc maybe 15 yards off the dock. Right where I was swimming. So just keep that in mind. Salties in Florida tend to hang out near "mangroves" and mostly feed on mullet, but Im sure theres some chungus' out there that wouldnt mind taking a swing at you if they were hungry.

I live here and it's awesome to see you sharing the beauty of our local waterways. I've been going out to Roger's park since I was 13 and I'm 31 now. It's a beautiful spot to see manatees and swim in crystal clear spring water. It's brackish water and the tides affect it, so the trick is to go on a super low tide and even though the water level will be lower, the water will be CRYSTAL clear. Also, you might want to check out Chassowiska off of US19 and SR98. It's basically the same type of brackish water, but the river is a lot wider and I've seen manatees, otters, a baby gator, snook, redfish, largemouth bass, ECT... A lot of kayakers travel there as well and it'd be a great spot to treasure hunt. Also, there are a few underground tunnels that are only like 10ft deep that you can swim under and come out 5-8 feet away on the other side. You should def check it out. The water is crystal clear as well where the boat ramp is and upriver, but gets murkier as you travel down the river closer to the gulf. I suggest going on low tide as well. It's also a little deeper than Roger's park. Hope to see a vid soon. Thx.

Yes. The river is very pretty. I kayak and canoe down that river every time. I visit my sister ,my niece ,my nephew and my brother-in-law.

Hospital hole goes to about 145ft....me and my dad have done well over 50 dives there
I was honestly confused why he didn't go down it. My only assumption would be due to it making a short video of him searching with the recommended bt at 130 especially 145.

Probably one of the greatest scuba diving dangers at 30 feet is an arterial gas embolism. This is because the biggest change in pressure occurs in the first 10 metres (32 feet) of water. The water pressure at 30 feet is twice that of what it is on the surface. If you were to take a deep breath in at just 30 feet.

Go to homosassa springs, beautiful water, lots of activities done by sportsmans. Beautiful fish and manatees, great food on the river and plenty of other places to explore on the river other than the springs
The visibility issue probably has to do with a Halocline. Where the saltier water in the river is interacting with the fresh water from the spring.

It’s Hydrogen Sulfide that causes the chemocline in Hospital Hole. It gets more salty the deeper you go. It’s not dangerous to dive. It is named from a local legend that sick and wounded fish go to these strange waters to heal before returning to the sea. Great video. I am binge watching. That’s why the comment is so late.

I actually lost my keys with some sentimental key chains on it about half a mile up river from rogers park. it’s got a lanyard that says chevy on it, be pretty cool if you found it. i flipped the yak on a deep curve dug out by the river
