Southern Africa tour - Day 2, Cape Town to Franschhoek

- Rain, rain, and more rain. Riding through Chapman’s Peak Drive, Hout bay, Cape of good hope, False Bay, Boulder’s Beach, Simon’s Town, Gordon’s Bay and end in Franschhoek. Fantastic roads but shame about the weather, it was extremely wet, everyone got cold and some very wet.
This tour was with Motoaventures, over two tours, in Morocco and Southern Africa, I concluded they are the best, every single little detail is taken care of, you just show up, ride and enjoy. I recently taught my wife to ride, turns out she's a better rider than me, I was pleasantly surprised.

Amazing trip.
With my gf we did a nice trip last summer UK - France - Swiss - Italy - Austria - Slovenia - Hungary - Romania - Bulgaria - Greece (from the East way down to Athens) and then back to - Bulgaria - Romania - Hungary - Slovakia - Czech Republic - Germany - Holland - Belgium - and ferry from France to Uk. 3 weeks, almost 10k miles and 5k pictures.
this is absolutely beautiful. for me the weather is perfect. the scenery is breathtaking

I moved to Australia in 1999 and haven't been back in years but i still remember this road so well
I love coast roads, and these are spectacular! The rain reminded me of riding my favourite one in Ireland with Learn2Ride - I was just thinking it didn't look that different and then there was the ostrich, LOL.

to see you so close to where i grew up is so so cool. i used to live in the Town Pringle Bay, you rode past it after the bike stop before the petrol station. I live in england now and ride because of you.

Hout Bay :D as in Wood Bay! Chapman's Peak and that road to Hout Bay is where I learned to ride a bike the right way.. on a Honda CB400. Cape Town is a stunning place, few places like it!

How did your wife enjoy riding around those beautiful mountains? Was she comfortable enough on a bike in the rain as a passenger going those speeds to enjoy the scenery?
She was very comfortable on the GS, I do the hard work and she enjoys the ride ;)

you should add Australia to your tour bucket list...Black Spurr, Great Ocean Road, Tassy etc...you would love it!

11:01 thats why i love riding a motorbike.Find a road like this then call your friends and drive on this beautiful where you hear only the engine sound of the bike and the wind from the high speed and enjoy this precious moment.
You are adjusting yourself quite well to the Cape Town traffic. Looking in the vids if i see myself driving somewhere...

Can anyone else hear that strange noise coming from wheels or something? Like a washing machine... it was there on the 1st video also. When revs are low and speed is big enough - it's clearly heard.
As I said on the first video, off-road tyres on tarmac.

I'd be amazed if you don't get a ticket through the post! You flew past that camera (Yellow stick) by the lights at 4:29 and a red light too :-O. I got one through the post from last time I was there...I think it was £15 + £25 admin fee (from Avis). You may have to sell one of your bikes man! Haha! If only UK was the same we could relax a bit. Mate just caught 69mph in a 60, 'dual carriageway' no central barrier....I did chuckle. Pain.
