Please more King videos! I’m very interested in playing King in 08 and I think the removal style is the way to go for now. I want to see more matches vs the meta decks to see how King competes. Love the vid and the deck list
When I saw people like trying to ramp with king I was telling people that it not how he is supposed to be played, people were telling me oh the new Kai do and king. It’s pretty obvious that the new big mom cards and the king and Kaido are for the next set where they are most likely doing a rock d zebec and black beard leaders. Like save the ramp enthusiasm for the next set
Yeah the ramp hasn’t felt needed outside of being able to go second to drop Jack turn 3 into a Moria/Sabo + cost reduction turn 4. I think the new purple 9 Mom can work since it’s great against black to get a 5c Sabo or Borsalino off the board but just depends on what you want deck strengths to be like 8c Sabo feels better against RP Law. And yeah I think there’s decks that utilize ramp better rn like pudding and even purple kaido
hm the new black kaido dont fit in the king deck. in the way his effect is written , i think it fits in king decks very well. and dont u think they develop the new characters for the new leaders in the same set?

Did a bunch of testing because i really want this deck to work but this is the list! Only thing i would love to add is that black 9 Kaido for late game sabo plays and stuff
Yeah I’m having sm fun with it rn. I think we just need some time now to see the other decks get more finalized to make some more adjustments and to see what the popular decks are. Like for me the 9c Mom feels a little better against black cause of 5c sabo and borsalino but the 9c Kaido and 8c Sabo are way better for rp law cause you clear anything they got and save resources in hand. So I think the flex spots are there for personal preferences like you could make 9 kaido work if it’s a card you like
Just a question here. where are the animal kingdom pirates cards? I feel like it's missing onigashima, king, kaido. I like that this is a mainly black decklist but I still fell like you could add a bit more purple to take advantage of all the great cards.
do you think the toy soldier and the new sasaki card would be better 2ks than kalifa and who’s who? seems like the effects would be better but overall great list
Yeah those both work too, if I do another video I’ll probably have kalifa and who’s who at 3 with two toy soldier. I like kalifa cause in case your hand is bad she lets you card filter two additional cards and also gives minus 2 to something so if kamazo is on the board you can just use leader ability to draw another card and still pop a 4 cost or less. Who’s who I just have as a cheap sabo and for the life trigger but you could totally make sasaki work over him like differences are just marginal
I don’t use it cause I play around card draw/filtering, using leader ability and kalifa/5c sabo to draw two trash two when I need it and that way don’t have to risk bottoming non animal kingdom cards. However, if 8c Moria gets banned/restricted in the future, I will probably be using the search
im sure its very good deck but not better than rp law...i have played over 30 matches in op08 and still havent lost any, and plenty of them were against king...time will tell... also i just saw the rp match..opponent forgot to trigger maria's ability the last time he played her...he would have 3 or 4 more don,which you be enough to close the game i think..
Yeah but if you can get the 2ks early like there is 20 in the deck and rp law isn’t attacking for 7k plus normally early game so you just stall until you can hit the Moria/Jack/Sabo/Kuzan etc. but also will depend on other decks and what else gets figured out too but also fine with rp law winning cause it’s been my fave deck since it dropped
@@KyleGasly agreed but at that point just play Lucci. You have better cost reduction and 1 extra life. Sure you lose the ramp factor which is basically the 2 additional don Bon clay provides
Yeah it’s been very interesting, this deck wins on just defense alone so you win on the turn your opponent attacks cause with multiple 9ks on board there’s nothing they can do, been a very different style of play than I’m used to
Don't lie dude, I played about 20 games with this exact list. Wanna know how many i won? Exaclty 1, because the guy said he was new and was playing Vegapunk. You cherry picked your best games and made it seem like it was the norm, like every game will go like this. This deck IS NOT best in format. Which is very upsetting for me because i WANT this deck to be good, but its just not, no matter how you build it.
How are you playing it? You need to play it very defensively and block out of like every attack until turn 4 to keep life up. I’ve done well with the deck, that’s why I uploaded it. I plan to use it in the future. It’s not played normally, it’s a defense first play style that is unique to this game and if that doesn’t work for you it’s okay. Like everything I do is around my pov and if it doesn’t click then don’t take it personally, you think and perceive things differently than I do. There’s other builds out there you can try. This works for me and I personally think playing defense first is insanely strong based on the meta, but it’s totally okay if you disagree.

I originally built Saka when I first started playing about 1/2 way through 06 -- about 2 or 3 weeks before the ban was announced. I've been looking for a deck that scratches that control itch like he did, and King looked like he fit the bill. Between constantly failing at building decks on my own, and piloting other meta-relevant decks, I've grown a bit resentful toward the game in general. Again, I apologize for being so rude. I'm messing with this list and trying to adapt my playstyle. It does perform a bit better than my original list. However, I've noticed that unless I hit the perfect draws every time in the late game, it kind of has the same problem as every other build I've seen -- other black decks. Maybe that's a user error, maybe its a problem with the deck, it may be something that is neither of those, or it could be a combination of those. I don't think I'm experienced enough to make that call.
@misterleviathangaming3090 it’s all good brother, I saw the passion lmao and I’m an OG RP Law player from when the Three Captains deck dropped, like one of the first videos I ever made and I’m used to the ups and downs, like some days beat anyone and then some days lose to anyone. I think King is very unique and has potential to become one of the best especially if decks like rp law are overwhelmingly popular. Same against Black, my games are just whoever gets 8c Moria the most wins, but that’s why I have Kalifa and 5c Sabo and also Black Maria to make sure I have plenty of card filtering or draw that extra card with leader ability. I think King and Marco are both defense first decks and that play style is kinda new to this game and very hard to understand because you play backwards essentially, where you don’t wanna take more than 1 life until turn 4, we wanna stall our opponents out because the longer the game goes, 1. We get to drop more boss cards and 2. We get to use leader ability more to draw more cards, ideally 2k counter for endgame. But definitely don’t feel locked into my build, besides 8c Sabo, 9c Big Mom is way better against Black while 8c Sabo better against RP Law. There’s a bunch of flex spots to mess around with for specific matchups. I love King and want to make him work too, like honestly if RP Law gets too popular and oversaturated then I plan to main King or Marco in OP08.

Run an animal kingdom engine with onigashima island for easy ramp and a few boardwipe kaidos. King has huge potential man, there's just so many cards coming to the game deckbuilding is getting more complex

Agreed. Also law basically played without reiju and rushers the whole game and the game was still insanely close.
