  • I've really enjoyed working on this Japanese Import 1991 Toyota Mr2 G-Limited 2.0 16v. She's so good to drive!
In this episode we get stuck into all of the things the MOT man wants to see, Headlights, Tyres, Brakes etc.
I hope you enjoy watching it!

My Mrs had 1994 one of these until it failed the mot on sill rot in 2006. Sold it to a local guy who was going to do the work himself and put it back on the road, sadly it sat in his garden rotting away until 2020 when it was finally sent to scrap. Biggest regret was not having the work done at the time and keeping. Tried multiple times to buy it back for more than he paid us but he wouldn't let it go. Nice to see this one saved.

In the name of all Japanese car manufacturers, sorry for the bolts! 😅

  • @JohnNorrisMetalSculpture

Drilling metal ... drill at slow speed to avoid heat build up which blunts the drills (even good ones!), the difference is amazing, kinda counter intuitive but it makes the world of difference .... oh, and oil! ct90 cutting oil is excellent but even 3 in 1 better than nothing. Sick car, owned one years ago, great to see you bring it back to life! Superb content as always!

I’ve learnt many times that HSS drill bits (even branded ones like those Milwaukee there) are a false economy, I know they are more expensive but I buy cobalt bits now and I find I can drill through the toughest steel and they don’t ruin after one use… but like I say… expensive :-(

😂😂 driving with the handbrake on, noticed when first pulled off. Classic move.

😂 Every time your Mum drives your car it's a slightly terrifying experience. Especially as a passenger 😅

  • @chadgibson3984

Your mom had a blast with you and the car ...you should do this more often with her..she didn't stop smiling the whole time..

You could put a box over the engine vents and deliver pizza! or just keep a picnic meal warm.

  • @philipstanbridge6535

When you stopped to check the brake temperatures I thought you were pulling into your mum’s driveway

  • @luho1346

That intro always jump scares me with the insane volume

  • @doctorbastard2912

Struggling with the exhaust, while having a transmission jack right behind you

Never underestimate the value of a buyer getting to see the car inside out as you work on it. I value the inside view we get from your videos, Ben! let's see Mom do 0-60!!

  • @kentvespa

Been looking forward to this episode and it didn’t disappoint. Love your sense of humour Ben, no one does dry sarcasm and wit like us Brits 😂. Good to see you involving your mum 👍

  • @bernardhendrikovergang5430

that took a long time the handbrake i saw it the second she pulled away ....

  • @stevezephyr

Your mum is an absolute star, 16 volt car, left the handbrake on, hilarious, she had me in stitches. Cracking car, that motor sounds amazing.

  • @casement18

Those gearboxes where brilliant my dad had a camry with same box said he had 120mph out of it before he hit slip road for motorway 😅 and those engines to if looked after they will go on forever

  • @A.J.Lawson

Ooof gotta love that sneaky little agro parked on the trailer 😮

  • @paulbushell3279

Congratulations on the MR2's passing its MOT. By far my favourite car so far, so deserving of being saved.

  • @techmarc6996

Ben, get yourself a hand=held Propane Torch. Heating slightly rusted bolts, then quenching them with penetrating oil (or water) will break the surface tension of the rust. They make some nice self igniting Propane torches now that are capable of melting steel.

  • @strokedoutgarage

Your mom is so sweet! certainly put a smile on my face☺ Keep em coming! Cheers from the U.S
