    Ardyth, I am so happy you use things that are no longer available. It makes people like me think out of the box to use what I have & not rush out to buy the latest thing on the market. I do have a huge FOMO, but I am working through that. 😅 Great cards & tips.

    Loving plaid, I don't think I could pick a favorite, but the pastel and bunny card hits the notes of Spring. My second purchasing blunder last fall was the Pinkfresh Dainty Plaid stencil set. It would have been perfect had I not ordered PFS's Diamond Plaid Stencil set by my own mistake! It is nice, but I really wanted to add the Dainty Stamp at another time. Oh well, lol. I have become verrry careful when I hit the Complete Order button! Thanks for the many great plaids Ardyth.🌷🌷

    Drawing straight lines...not my forte, however, I CAN use a ruler. LOL I love that you mix and match your product. I use lots of different dies/stamps/stencils from lots of different brands and I think it's so much more interesting to mix and match to get your desired look. All these suggestions were really helpful.

    Numbers 3 and 6 are my favorites. 3 for the colors used in that plaid are very reminiscent of my childhood. 6 for the black ink that made the other colors stand out and the thin lines of the stamp were elegant. Elegant Plaid? Yes indeed.

    I love plaid. LOVE it. BUT I struggle with the dainty plaid stencils. No matter what I try I seem to get ink under the stripes when I’m inking.
    The C&9 turn about always ends up splotchy for me. I think I may need to try other inks. My C&9 inks don’t seem to work well. I need to keep trying because I ADORE plaid.

    • @ardyth
      @ardyth  Před rokem

      I know what you mean about any striped stencil - they tend to move because there's so much of it not held in place by the edges. I used my hands to hold it in place and blended small areas at a time, but it can still be tricky. As for the turnabouts, I'm assuming you've conditioned the new stamps before trying to ink them up. I've never used C9 inks, so I can't speak to that, but I was definitely glad to be using my misti so I could do multiple stampings. I have to admit that for background stamps, I kind of prefer cling to clear... maybe there's a video in there somewhere... lol! Thanks for stopping by!

    Fun fact… Only North Americans call Tartan, Plaid.
    Plaid is actually a cloth blanket draped over the shoulder or fastened around the waist.
    Gingham is a type of fabric.
    Tartan is the actual pattern that is printed onto a fabric.
    So technically what these all are, are different Tartans. :)

    • @ardyth

    • @ardyth
      @ardyth  Před 7 měsíci

      Black Watch? I think I would try to do that with plaid coverplate dies since it's really hard to get colours to show up on black. OR. Do it with navy and green cardstock, but blend black ink through a stencil? OH! Or metallic watercolours on black cardstock? Maybe too flashy. I'll put it on my list for future videos - now I'm really curious! lol! Thanks for watching!
