  • The Flying Club that I run just added a third airplane to our fleet - a beautiful 1971 Cessna 150L, and this is my first time taking it out to check it out!
The radios need some fine tuning, but it is so much fun to fly. Check it out!

Took me right back to my training flights out of Rockledge, FL, 35 years ago....

I’m glad I’m not the only pilot who talks to himself when flying alone. 😊😊👍👍

I had to learn to talk to myself because it helped so much. I work from home and can often go through the whole day without using my voice. Introverts unite! awkwardly, with just some eye contact.

Fairmont used to be 22/4....brings back some great memories from the ‘80’s.

Great video, Chris! Had a couple of greasers there. I loved learning in the 150. Have about 30 hours in one. Easiest plane I've flown, by far.
Can't wait for the next one.

I got my PPL in a 152 (KSJT, circa 1990). I still love the airframe, even though I’ve transitioned into a 172. I just can’t find any to rent here in central Alabama. You can’t beat them for just going up on a nice day to do some proficiency training. I had the opposite reaction to yours, when I got in a 172 for the first time. I thought "Man, this thing is heavy on the yoke". I’ll likely share your sentiment, next time I climb back into a 150/52. :)

Ahh the old 150 windows. Everytime I’d take off during my ppl training the pilot window would pop open. Scared me to death a few times. Had to train myself to ignore it until i got some altitude

I can’t get over how small that cockpit seems. Might as well be a one seater lol. Thanks for sharing the video.

150s have 40 degrees full flaps. Doubt you’ll ever need them. I learned in a 70 model 150 years ago and flew out of a grass strip. My flight instructor wanted me to get used to the full flap deflection. It requires pretty good power to hold speed but it does let you land pretty short.

7:00-7:07 -- reminds me of the scene in “It’s a Mad, Mad…World” when looking below the bi-plane the cars are going faster. Very nice-looking aircraft. Here’s to many safe hours of instruction!

Great video and congrats on the new addition. One thing to note is that Cessna is pronounced with S's and not Z's. I use to have that habit as well. :P

I have 70 hrs. 50 of them are in 150s. I fly the 172 some but I’m trying to build time. I think the 150 is a great airplane,

okay, that's a pretty 150. and I hate 150s :) also like the tail number, it's nice to have one that sounds good on the radio. (I was flying one ending in '720', which is terrible when you say "cleared for 02, 720")
Brian probably likes the radios and transponder, they have his vibe. What's up with the haze (eg 4:00)?
Definitely can't trust the windows or doors as a mount in a 150.
8:10 heh (you scramble for the radio volume)
