King David. This psalm starts off questioning God with a growing distress, then halfway thru Asaph realizes Gods ways are beyond our ways and ends with giving God praise and glory. Beautiful
"My soul refuses to be comforted" something about that line makes me tear up

How it is sang depends on the choir. There's a Gregory chant music chart passed down from churches to churches so you have to ask an Orthodox church instead. It's like curry, all of us know what it is but different family recipe uses different spice ratio and also ingredients.
What is constant is just the verse. Orthodox churches mostly only have 1 translation of the bible, again have to read up on it cause I'm not a catholic so I wouldn't know the details

It's a Psalm of Asaph,- hence the reason David is portrayed as the audience. David was not the writer of this heart wrenching psalm. I'm curious as to why they omitted the line of Moses and Aaron at the end as written in the original Psalm... It's very effective all the same!

Words Matter. Speech brings understanding. Communication can be LIFE GIVING . BEWARE when speech comes from Human men .. . not from GOD'S WORD . IT was miraculous that GOD'S WORD has been preserved throughout millenia . Man has attempted to make the WORD irrelevant. It heals and gives comfort .Today's Believers can't even find this scripture . They dont even have a Bible in their home . Ashamed ...or is it just not Relevant to todays World?
