I am 70 year old Korean American music lover and this is my first time to upload any comments on any contents…. Sunwook Kim, you are wonderful! You play with power but awfully fine at the same time. During your performance, you pulled me inside this Beethoven piece and I had hard time breathing especially during 2nd movement . My most favorite pianist is Vladimir Horowitz. I must honestly say you are the pianist who owns me recently. Exceptional touches derived from your emotions.
Plz keep up the good work to surpass Horowitz!

단지 감성만이 아닌 이성적으로도 균형감이 돋보이는 지성미가 넘치는 연주랄까. 사운드적으로는 고품질의 세련된 질감이 느껴지는 기분이네요. 엄청난 연주라고 생각합니다. 뜨거운 가슴을 품고 차갑게 연주해내는 마치 한국의 미하일 플레트네프 같은 느낌을 받았어요. 오케스트라 따로 독주자 따로인 연주가 아닌 마치 오케스트라 소속의 피아니스트가 함께 합주를 하듯 앙상블적인 감각을 잃지않고 녹아드는 어울림을 만들어내는 작업이 너무 훌륭합니다.
고품질... 이성적인 연주 진짜 공감합니다... 우리나라 피아니스트들 중 제일 균형있게 베토벤 연주하는 것 같아요
김선욱은 파워가 있기도 하지만 라르고 감성천재인듯. ㅜㅜ
윤찬림 음악듣다 여기까지 오게되었는데 선욱님 연주 소름끼치네요 어쩜 한음한음 또랑또랑한지.. 쌍따봉입니다~

이 여유로운 타건은 뭐지? 눈감고 한참 들었습니다. 작곡자 본인이 된듯 이야기를 풀어내는 건 왜 그렇게 느껴지는걸까...

이제는 거장의 여유가 느껴지는 수준입니다
오랜만에 보는 실연인데 그간 많은 연구를 하신 것 같은 느낌이에요 언제나 팬입니다
예전 TV에서 김선욱씨가 NHK 교향악단과 협연하는 걸 본 적이 있습니다. 그 때 아, 일본에서 걸출한 피아니스트가 탄생했구나 하고 부러워했다가, 이후에 검색 후 한국인인 것을 알고 매우 기뻤던 기억이 있습니다. 그 때가 콩쿨 우승 직후였는데, 이미 참 진중한 음악을 들려주었죠. 이 연주도 참 깊이있고 안정되어 좋습니다. 김선욱씨가 지휘자 커리어를 쌓는 모습도 기대하고 있겠습니다.

His performance brings back to life all the sounds that Beethoven wrote in the score, vividly and beautifully. He is a really great pianist. Bravo!!!
Wow, I nearly thought I could see smoke flying off the keys of the piano at the very end of the finale to the concerto, as Kim pressed the keys of the instrument with immaculate perfection and truly dizzying speed, lol! A big kudos to Mr Kim for a flawless, thoroughly virile performance, that does great justice to this magnificent masterpiece of Beethoven!

Largo a little slow?
Beethoven would often refer to some of his earlier music as "Mozart" though even his early work bore his stamp. Not quite the real Beethoven yet. Piano concerto #4 doesn't fit into an image like #3 does.
