Wheel looks good on the car, I think the black center ties in well with the chrome. It’s just enough too break it up, but not too much.

The wheel he gave you is a comfort grip steering wheel. It was rare on Camaro but it was an available option. It was more common on Chevelles.

Tips for when you park your car in a hot day, before you turn of your car turn your wheel 180 so it's upsidedown and the hot spot will now be the bottom of the wheel

New wheel looks great! I love chrome on classic cars. It fits the design aesthetic of the era, whereas a more muted style is better suited to today's vehicles (except Cadillacs, those should never not have an abundance of chrome trim). I agree too that black trim is overdone. Dark grey or body color, depending on the color, would be a more suitable option in many cases than straight black, in my opinion.

Got the same wheel on my truck. Burns the fingers real good in the summer! Then there's the polishing you have to do all the time. You'll probably change it again.

After some research it is the factory wheel. And they come with different horn buttons

When are you putting some headers on it? Not so much for power. But it will make the exhaust have a even deeper tone. Big blocks sounds so good with headers

Wheel looks good, but hope the cheeze grater backside doesn't take the skin off your fingers on a fast return to center turn.🙌 Lauren hope you feel better, just went through the whole sinus head cold thing with the raw nose from going through 5 boxes of tissues. Pro tip: puffs plus, and put lotion or medicated chapstick or blistex medicated on your little nose throughout the day and put it on real heavy before you go to bed. Should help out. Sometimes the raw nose is worse than the cold.🤧
It cam standard with a 2 leg steering wheel but that wheel you have is a very rare option... I would love to know how much you would take for it!!! It was also an option on my 70 chevelle

Nick there were different steering wheels for the different package options and that wheel was a factory wheel I guess the owners before the one you got it from were trying to have it era correct

Better get a steering wheel cover for that in the summer the chrome grip will burn off your fingertips...depending on how hot it really gets where you live. That's my alternate wheel for my 1977 camaro

Nick, that is a factory optional wheel and it looks better than any other wheel in my opinion except for the factory optional wood wheel. They also made a faux wood but that isn't as nice.
What you need to make your wheel fit is the factory hub which is obviously missing. I still have mine somewhere and I'm going to go digging for it. If you'd like it just let me know. It would be a gift from me to you for your 69.
PS... don't get rid of that wheel. You'll be sorry you did. Original ones are expensive and the re-pops aren't cheap either.

The wheel looks good , when your at a car show they make steering wheel socks so they dont get super hot. Wait til you sit down after a hundred degree day and burn your legs.
You can just unscrew the boss off the steering wheel and turn it 180 degrees and reattach the wheel so horn pieces line up
