On the same level as "Imagine a species full of vibrant life and unbridled potential - now make it *stop.*" and "Our fleets will blot out the sun. As many suns as it takes."
It would be more eerie if the Stellaris galaxy had more than a few hundred stars
That's also a very weak statement if you talk about people. Pretty sure there are already enough humans on earth to outnumber the stars.
P.S.: I was absolutely wrong, google says there are 200 Trillion stars. Good thing I never tried to count them.
@@jasperzanovich2504in the known universe, there's approximately 200 sextillion stars, if each galaxy has the same number of stars as the milky way(approximately 100 billion stars)

Yeah, modularity looks like the vanilla choice
but virtuality is the ultimate playing wide meta now !! (25% efficiency does not matter if you have unlimited pops)
@@mohamedjear8917 Try calling it path of living metal, that sounds better :D With wide virtuality I would be wary of increasing cost of pops. By some number of planets cost of maintenance will be bigger then benefits

The Machine Age seems to be one of the biggest DLC. Can't wait to see it!
Virtuality looks incredibly powerful. Machine Shattered Ring back on top?
In multiplayer it will be super op, but in single player if you do happen to reach 2400 it won’t be fun since you remove half the game by removing planet management
Most multiplayer games do not last long enough for restored ring sections to come into play at all.

That Genesis Guides civic is honestly the highlight of the DLC for me. It's such a cool idea for a Civic. I just hope it'll give us the option to customize the pre-sapient species we create when we settle a world with a Genesis Ark, like naming them, picking their portrait, writing a biography and picking their traits. I love the idea of seeding an empty galaxy with custom species as a Human precursor civilization then doing the Cosmogenesis path and having my empire become a Fallen Empire. That's the first thing I'm going to try to do.
Bio and Psionic ascension are going to be left in the dust it seems.
I hope next year would be DLC's for Bio or/and Psionic

I like them all. I can't decide which path I like best. The neighborhood you spawn in has a big impact of the best playstyle. Pinned in with no room to expand? Go virtual. Plenty of room? Nanites! Need to maximize a specific advantage or compensate for an awkward imbalance of natural resources? Take a modular approach! It is great that there are meaningful choices to adapt to the different challenges the game gives you.

Outnumber the stars and keep your fire extinguisher near your PC
Getting 4 extra trait picks is crazy considering other ascensions only give 1 to 2 extra trait picks. I'm looking forward to trying each of these out and discovering what other new robotic and cyborg traits will do. There's only so much we can gleam from icons alone.
I'm almost certain Ultima Vigilis is related to her somehow. Whether it's the place she was sealed in or a place where they stored the weapons they used to defeat her the first time.

Boosting amenities 20% for 1 pt. is relatively pointless when cyber has 'durable' for 1 pt that cuts amenities needs in half so that you dont even need anyone working amenities jobs.
Historically, running amenities increasing traits doesnt work well because its too difficult to get those specific pops to slot themselves into the correct jobs. The Durable strategy worked much better.

Will have to come up with some personal lore for them ofc, as I do all my builds, but I already love playing pirate megacorps but loved robots even more, and as such builds work best tall it just kinda makes sense to go virtual anyways lol

See, this is how you do breakdowns of new dlc's and stuff the like. You get the FANS to talk about (maybe give them a little freedom when talking), but this makes it soooo much better (I think) as it feels better as we already watch/listen to THESE fouls a lot anyways.
Damn, I would like to install those modular traits on my organic cyborg pops, especially the dark matter engines. Running that with dark consortium can make some overpowered pops while being able to pay for a good chunk of the dark matter upkeep, especially for a tech rush empire. I can imagine how overpowered tech rush with individualistic machines can be with modularity and dark consortium.
Dark matter engine + dark consortium on an individualistic machines sounds very op, but again, there is virtuality

I haven’t played a machine empire in awhile. Looking forward to this DLC, all 3 origins look fun. Will be a tough decision. I have a steam deck and a 6 hour flight coming up, guess I know what I’ll be doing.

that commander trait at 1:47 seems like a net negative? i dont know about you guys, but my fleet is always limited by its immense energy upkeep, so this trait would practically reduce the fleet i can field by 20%... why not make them both -10%?

There are two new ship sets with the expansion; one themed after cybernetics, and another that's themed after machines.
THIS IS SO COOL! I'm a little confused though, can synthetic (as in, biological becoming machine) also benefit from these new ascension paths? Can I turn a biological empire into a swarm of mechanical nanites? Or can only machine intelligences (starting machines) do this?
Either way, this is so goddamn cool. I LOVE machines, this is by far the most hyped I've EVER been for a game PERIOD. Yall are really cooking.

From what i read about in the dev diary, not really. It seems that when you are becoming synthetic you will get to make some choices that could leave you as a weaker version of one of these. But idk its been a while and so i could be wrong

@@Person67 What? No, there is literally a new origin for individualistic empires that dovetails into a synthetic ascension where they talked about being able to do all three. The expanded cybernetic and synthetic stuff is for all empires.

@@Velreidev confirmed that biologicals can access a bit of virtuality once they ascend. Biologicals get advanced government forms over individualistic machines though.
As a multiplayer player, im afraid of virtuality, it seems way to powerful. But im going nanotech anyways!

I hope they ramp up the production rate, ik behaviour took over the port, and that's why it's been kinda slow currently, but I would love to have machine age by the end of next 2025
