    I usually mess around with fission reactors in creative first! I have found out that if you put the temperature on a 13-13 reactor(11-11 works too but the size is awkward to do) to exactly 719 I think, it stays at 1.1 kilokelvin. At about 1200 kelv reactor overheats, even if actively cooled by water. Sodium I wouldn’t recommend, as what tends to happen, sodium being a limited resource , unlike water which you can let from cfb sink, empties the reactor tank so fast that it blows up before the gas even circulates through the system. Excess sodium clogges up pipes to the point that boiler can’t function and everything goes haywire.
    A bit about my suggestions for mekanism. I think Adrian should add a separate machine for crafting special items, like the diss( yes that’s what I call it) chamber from indus foregoing or create mechanical crafters
    Also some new multivlock textures would be nice, considering textures are getting revamped in 1.20 mek. A good inspiration for this Change is immersive engineering, with their arc furnace and diesel gen in particular

    I've wasted a lot of time on other vids, some was fun, so that's okay. But thank you for being quick, and straight to the point. Now I am ready to build one.

    Man, I love the Fusion reactor. I mean, hypothetically, if it wasn't in Mekanism, you'd have to use the fission reactor for generating power en mass, and of course, that's something I'd never do. I would specifically never forget to set up a suitable power collection system and failsafes, if I were to do so, again in theory. But, of course, because I would never do something like that, it could never end with a small(not small(really, really not small)) meltdown, causing the emission of radiation over you and your friend's main town by proxy the minor, almost unnoticeable destruction of the majority of your progress. But again, this is all hypothetical. After all, the fusion reactor's real, and no one is stupid enough to not know about it, at least far enough into the game where it would relevant.

      Oh of course, hypothetically, my fission reactor didn't blow up and destroy half the base while i was recording this guide, forcing me to rebuild it because I forgot to put an energy dump onto the turbine 😅

      @gamertoast1830 Před 8 měsíci +3

      The cool thing is that you dont need to care about it too much anymore.
      Its a lot safer to use if you just DONT pump the condensed steam back into the reactor.
      Just fill it with water and use 1 port to fill the turbine with steam and then select "dump excess" in your turbine.
      Too much steam? No Problem
      Energy full and the turbine fills aswell resulting in a BOOM? Won't happen.
      The only thing you need is keeping it chunk loaded like normally and produce fuel to keep your energy running.
      Thats how I done it in ATM9 to get some energy and finally craft polonium for the Fusion reactor.
      Just make sure that you have enough ports for water! I used 4 Ports for water and multiple ultimate mechanical pipes on Sinks. Its important to do because (atleast in ATM9) the pipes have a max flowrate of 128k MB/t but only PUMP 32k MB/t so you need to connect 4 Sinks (or sides) per Reactor Port to fully pump the 128k MB/t into it.
      Ive done 4 ports and I can easily run my small reactor on 20mb/t without any overheating. A bit more complicated but it was worth beeing 100% safe :D

    Would injecting Deuterium and Tritium directly into the reactor be more efficient granted you can keep it constantly fuel? If so what kind of increase in energy out out can I except compared to using DT fuel

    • @Hellfirem4ge
      @Hellfirem4ge  Před 7 měsíci +1

      It's definitely more energy efficient to do deuterium and tritium separately, I'm not sure the exact values but I know it's less efficient to combine them before injecting 😊

      @@NeroERXSeperating only lets you go to 98/99 mb/t in the injection rate.
      D-T-Fuel kinda ignores that and directly pumps 1000mb/s (i think it can be set to 10000mb/s in newer mod versions)
      Producing so much D-T-Fuel is a pain, costly and ineffective for most people BUT fully running it at that speed will give you HUGE AMOUNTS of Energy. Its more for people who want to maximize it but I wont recommend using it if you just want to play casually. Its way more simpler to just use it seperately and maybe build a second fusion reactor or more. Or build a big turbine (or multiple)! Much more fun this way.
      D-T-Fuel is only required if you want to fill the infinity tools from Industrial Foregoing (was it this mod? Dont remember correctly) since they need gazillions of RF.
