I was quite tentative with the figure just in a case it wasn’t as robust as I thought it would/should be! But yeah a safe arrival with no issues!! Was careful not to belittle other collectors complaints about this figure as I know there have been some horror stories but for me it was pretty much perfect 😊 Apols for putting you through the stress of potential mishaps! Had the exclusive original release with battle damage portrait. Four arms were fine but two arms never would hold a pose at all. This is the updated version so I think things got fixed. Yes Hot Toys will definitely do one. Sold mine so will be ready when that bad boy goes up for pre order!
Ah cool, I really liked the look of the battle damaged swap out! But yeah pretty pleased with my copy of this figure, I appreciate it’s been a bit of a nightmare for some collectors! I hope Hot Toys do one, and I’m liking your confidence that they will do one at some point 😀👍🏻

Sir Terry is the pose master and your the pun master seen what you did there, another legendary one TK421lad. A nice figure robe was quality and some nice accessories didn't like the character in the film with the annoying Jar Jar cough but this one looking good 👍.

I bought the 2.0 version when it came out. I understand the complains on this figure. Since it is a 2.0 version and Sideshow did almost nothing to improve it, although they had so much feedback and complaints on the first version. But having said that and seeing the first reviews and complaints during release, I must say i still love this figure!! Yes he is not sturdy and could definitely use some metal parts but when you take your time posing him up this guy definitely rocks and has major shelve precense! I got him next to Dooku, Jango and CW Maul and they look awesome together! Cant wait to add the battle droids on that shelve !! Great review
Yeah agreed, would be better to have used some diecast parts for the legs and to add a bit of weight and balance. And you’re totally correct I think it just takes a bit patience to pose him right and then he does look super imposing on the shelf! Well this is our only option for a 1/6 Grevious. I've heard some horror storied about extremely loose joints. Vids of Grevious figures that can't lift their arms because of loose joints. He's a nice looking figure but I don't want to risk being unlucky and getting a bad one. Glad this one worked out for you mate.
Yes it’s definitely a shame that it’s not been a consistently good figure for all collectors! I mean videos of super loose joints aren’t made up are they so seems like there have definitely been issues along the way. But yeah think I got lucky, could have been a bit of a disaster purchase! Wow, and lately I've been looking at taking the risk on getting this guy, what excellent timing! Grevious is one of my favorite star wars characters so seeing him in sixth scale form to go with the rest of my collection is immensely tempting. I just wish it wasn't plagued with issues or at least have a higher likelyhood of something being wrong with it.
Yeah like you he’s one of my favourite villains so really wanted him represented in my sixth scale collection! But I would just advise caution tbh as collectors have had really bad experiences so I think there’s an element of luck on whether your figure will be issue-free! 5:13 I wonder if there are things inside that translucent organ sac. It looks like there are actual internal organs inside that thing which is both cool and creepy at the same time. I haven't seen people take apart this figure to remove the organ sac and then see what's in there.🟢
I got the version 1.0 as someone sold it cheap after getting version 2. I believe the initial release of the 2,0 still had a lot of joint issues and then Sideshow gave additional joints to replace them. I believe yours is the improved one mate which came later . The version 1.0 had issues with articulation but I strengthen the joints to mitigate it. They do look good in the shelf ,that's true. . But sincerely I believe Sideshow cheeped out on the 2.0. The could have made the figure bottom heavy like the K2so of hot toys. Anyhow, a Star Wars display without Grevious for me just lacks something...Another awesome video mate ! Cheers

I have it and one of the ear pieces broke off while opening and the back bone as well, the joints slide down but he looks great when displayed and fixed up

He just fits in the detolf and hes a nightmare to continually repose his joints do become weaker i have the 2.0 with the additional ball joints supplied. I haven’t changed his pose in 6 months lol

Got a few thoughts on this one, First of all, thanks for taking the time to make the video, I know it can be hard work making youtube vids. I saw this figure twice on display in a store, the first time was the original issue and the second time was the re-issue. The first one I saw was a mess, it was just floppy joints hanging on a stand like a drunk spider and it looked so plasticy, I also remember seeing way less weathering than yours. The second time I looked and the new one said "Re-issue" so I took a loser look, assuming it was more stable and was intrigued to see if it was any different, as I remember the weathering was better and it looked more stable but still slumped and looked like it would easily fall down without a stand. I was surprised to see the chrome lightsabers on that and again with yours because I can't think of another figure I've seen with them. I think if you love this character the re-issue is a great buy from what i've seen.... if it stays stable over time. Me, personally though, I feel this suffers from a fatal flaw aside from the potential for the floppy limbs, I think, inherently it will always look very toy-like because they are using plastic to create bone or whatever he's made out of and that design looks plasticy in it's self so no matter what figure people make of Grievous it will always look more like a toy than any human or metal looking droid character. That's just my opinion but I'm also of the opinion that high quality 1/6 scale figures like hot toys, sideshow, three zero and so on. The goal of those figures is to recreate a character in 1/6 scale in the most life like and realistic portrayal as possible and certain characters unfortunately don't lend them selves to that very well.

@@TK421Collectibles Something I was curious about too, in the ball joints, are they screws? Because if they are then I don't see why you couldn't just tighten them if it gets loose. Yeah the one I saw was so loosey goosey it was like skeleton with a pearl necklace for arms. Glad you like the revision version though, maybe that's all it needed was a little update to get it right. I think if I was a big fan of the character I would be pretty made up with it. I will give it this though, it definitely has shelf presence.

The chest armor looks too wide spread as opposed the the movie shots which bothers me. I wonder if Hot Toys will make an announcement for the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith?…………which will be released in the year 3000😂 I’m probably hoping against hope but die cast would be sweet on this figure.

Sadly, this is probably the only sixth scale Grevious we'll ever get. I think they should have done a sixth scale statue with interchangeable arms, instead. You almost want me to repose him standing straight up............almost.............it took forever to get him in the crouched pose I have him in.
Interestingly I want to get him in more of a crouched pose tbh!! Like what you have him in by the sounds of it 👍🏻 Got him kind of hunched but I think he was far more hunched over in the film ( a may need to rewatch and will then repose accordingly)! 😀
@@TK421Collectibles He tended to be in a crouched position, with his legs bent at the knee and ankle(?) joints, and his back bent forward. When he walked he frequently had his hands clasped behind his back.

Well thank you for sharing bud, when I heard Sideshow were to release him I was quite happy. But when I found out there was no improved body with the joints I did not bother with a order. Then started seeing Reviews and it turned me right off. I love Grievous and was even thinking of getting a statue. Looking at your one it dont seem to bad, and even so there are ways to stiffen up joints. ( not that should be the case considering how much figures cost these days). Well I think the boat has passed for me with this figure what with the preorders I have to pay off lol. You never know one day Hot toys could do one!!! Anyway fantastic video as always my friend and look forward to your next...
I think this was one of those figures I’ve wanted since day one of sixth scale collecting!! But yeah had heard the v1.0 having issues then a lot of negatives about the v2.0. It'd be amazing if Hot Toys not only did the Grievous from ROTS and the 2008 Clone Wars series, but also the Grievous from the 2003 Clone Wars series.

@@TK421Collectibles He tended to be in a crouched position, with his legs bent at the knee and ankle(?) joints, and his back bent forward. When he walked he frequently had his hands clasped behind his back.

Well thank you for sharing bud, when I heard Sideshow were to release him I was quite happy. But when I found out there was no improved body with the joints I did not bother with a order. Then started seeing Reviews and it turned me right off. I love Grievous and was even thinking of getting a statue. Looking at your one it dont seem to bad, and even so there are ways to stiffen up joints. ( not that should be the case considering how much figures cost these days). Well I think the boat has passed for me with this figure what with the preorders I have to pay off lol.

I think this was one of those figures I’ve wanted since day one of sixth scale collecting!! But yeah had heard the v1.0 having issues then a lot of negatives about the v2.0. But got it for a steal so thought I’d just go for it, and fortunately it turned out great! 🙂😮💨
Oh and don’t remind me about trying to pay off preorders by the way!! 🤣😬🤣
