Can I form my own propeller spinner for Frankenstein?

Looks great. The only consideration I'd add is balancing the spinner/backplate.

Thanks mate. You’re right, balance of the spinner needs to be considered. The backing plates are from the original spinner used on c172. So that was a good base to build from. The rounded option I reckon has a better chance of getting the balance right instead of a longer, pointier one.

You're pretty good at fabricating stuff, Don! The shape of the side piece of your propeller boss is what is called a 'truncated cone'.

Haha cheers mate. There is a wart/bump in the top cowling where the oil dipstick access is. But it’s probably a weird place for a wart.

@@Tadrjbs cheers mate, because the engine intake is pretty big I think I will still get enough airflow past the spinner for cooling. All I wanted to do was cover the centre hole in the prop
